It looks like a contact dermatitis which gets exaggerated after exposure to a particular allergen. You must find out and avoid it. That is the best solution.

Try colimex drops instead. Works better than colicaiid. And you avoid milk products and garlic the mother for few days. Lessens colic. Also try changing the formula.

Mother milk is the best feed for the babies. Infants use to sleep most of the time in day and night. So just try breast feeding every 2 or 3 hourly. Not to worry.

Hello, my 5 month old baby suffered from uti with enterococcus bacteria. Was on iv antibiotics for 7 days. Followed by oral antibiotics. Later cephlaexin syrup 3 ml daily dose till date. Doc has asked for mcu scan. Before that we performed urine routine & culture. Urine pus cell was occasional. Bacteria nil. But culture report said significant growth of some other named bacteria. We waited 1 week to retest. 3 days back baby had fever so we ran to the doc to get him checked. Doc said its viral fever and cannot be uti again since he is on cephlexin daily dose. Still for our safety we had urine routine & culture done again. The urine routine says pus cell 3 -5. Bacteria nil. Culture report is yet to come but the prelimnary report said heavy growth of gram negative bacilli. Doc said it could be because of contamination. My question is. Why all the time different bacteria shows in the culture. Does he have uti. What could be the exact reason.

MD - Paediatrics
Pediatrician, Ranchi
First of all, for the diagnosis of persistent uti the bacteria grown should be same. So I agree with your doctor that there is a high chance of contamination. Clean catch sample of urine must be taken to avoid growth of contaminated bacteria. Once there is an attack of uti in children below 2 year of age it should be thoroughly investigated usg and then mcu after 3 months to see whether kidney has been affected or not. Long term prophylaxis (4-6 month) is needed. Regards.

Side effect of anaesthesia on infant less than one year old both short term and long term?

Side effect of anaesthesia on infant less than one year old both short term and long term?
Short term risks are dependent on duration of anaesthesia. Surgical risks depends on procedure about which surgeon can explain. Long term risks should be negligible if hepatotoxic medications not used for prolonged time.

I was sincere student till 12th then in college I cannot focus on studies and always tend to postpone important task ...
Dear lybrate-user, procrastination is a common problem, but if not dealt with soon enough, can result in serious consequences in the future. First thing you should know is that you are not able to concentrate, not because your procrastinate, but because you procrastinate, and thus you are not able to concentrate. Procrastination, fidgeting and all sbuch distractive phenomena arise when either your brain is anxious, or your brain is unable to work out a way from a problem you are facing or just because you might not have anything to do. For instance let us say your exams just got over and you don't do any work for a long time, making the recently finished exams a reason for not working. Now what happens is your brain gets used to this routine of" no work" for a long time. And thus, when you start working again, you suddenly realise you had to do so much more. Because your brain starts picking up the fragments of works which were left undone. And this happens to a lot of people. There are multitudinous ways you can control procrastination. But by far the best solution is" meditation" and it is exactly this phenomenon which we intend to control by meditating. And meditation has many forms. You don't have to sit on the floor for hours in" dhayn mudras" meditation is the art of learning how to focus. You can start with anything you like (reading, music. Start with 15 min. Every day. And then, increase it to 30 min. And then an hour or two. You might not have observed but people don't generally procrastinate while doing something they love. Hope this will help you. With best wishes.

Visit a pediatrician and get a opinion after he/she examines his chest. He may need a x ray. You can give him honey 5-10ml twice a day for dry cough. And ask him to do salt water gargles twice a day.

Allergy problem in rainy and winter season for our daughter .Now she is completed 9 years.
I assume its nasal allergy and not skin allergy. Start her with Chyawanprash daily 1 tsp twice followed by warm milk. Secondly, give her the following combination- 1 pinch haldi+1 pinch black pepper powder+ 1 pinch dalchini powder+ 1 tsp honey. Give this once a day. Try and make her do some deep breathing daily for 5-10 Min If allergic symptoms are more, give steam adding rock salt to water. Include lots of fresh veggies and fruits as week as dry fruits. Ask her to play and run. It increases lung capacity.

in those rare cases, formula feed is allowed. but breast milk is still most preferred. at least for first six months. you can not judge the status of immune system today. but my advise is to give healthy emotional environment along with nutrition. then only your baby will have strong immune system.

My one month baby crying continuously for hungry and also crying after going urine.what to do

MBBS, Diploma in Child Health (DCH)
Pediatrician, Mangalore
My one month baby crying continuously for hungry and also crying after going urine.what to do
Always feed the baby in comfortable sitting position, awake baby properly while feeding. Feed the baby at least for 15_20 minutes, each time empty one breast, and give from other if needed, properly burp the baby after each feed. Keep at least 2 hours in between 2 feeds. So baby gets satisfied and won't cry, and no chance of getting colicky pain also. All baby's cry little while passing urine and passing sometimes stool. Don't worry.
