Dear lybrate user, for prevention of hair fall follow these instructions: * do not take a lot of stress and take proper sleep of 6 - 7 hours. Do meditation to destress yourself. You can do pranayams or take long deep breaths whlie closing your eyes I a peaceful environment for at least 8-10 minutes. * add protein containing items in your foods for healthy hair growth such as take a bowl of cereal daily and a glass of milk or 100 gm cheese or 1-2 eggs. * to reduce hairfall and whitening of hairs, practice yogasana like shirshasana and sarwangasana only under the guidance of expert. * you can use mahabhringraj oil and apply it 3 times in a week massage your scalp for 10 to 15 minutes daily. It increases blood circulation in your scalp and enhances hair growth. * avoid intake of any medicines because they cause toxicity & hairfall. * avoid the excess use of products such as hair colours or shampoo. * take vitamin-e rich foods like dry fruits (almonds, pista etc) daily. * take 1/2 teaspoon of amla powder with water once a day. * apply the egg yolk to the scalp atleast once a week. It gives nourishment to hair root and enhances hair growth. * checkout your thyroid profile & take proper treatment of thyroid disorder.

Hello sir I am 23 old boy. I am diabetic patient. I came to know just 20 days before that my sugar level is 375 after fasting now my sugar level is 180 after fasting. Can it will go permanently or not. How I became the diabetic patient despite I'm very health conscious. Before three month I was not diabetic. Report say.

Mr. lybrate-user, Thanks for the query. I have gone through the details, I understand your concern. Please answer following few questions: Do your parents or any one in the family have diabetes? Have you been loosing weight over last few weeks or months? Is there excess thirst, excess urination and hunger as well as general weakness during last few weeks or months? The blood glucose reduction that you have reported (from 375 mg to 180 mg) has occurred on its own or after taking any medication? What is the present treatment with details of drugs and dosage? It is necessary to know all these details, before one can look at how to control your blood glucose rise. Another important aspect is that if DIABETES is CONFIRMED then treatment has to go on for Life Time. There is no Cure. If you do not take necessary care, then there can be very severe long term consequences related to every single system in the body. So my suggestion is please initiate appropriate treatment with modern anti diabetic drugs and continue the same. Strict blood glucose control is absolutely essential. Fasting should be <100 mg, PP 150 to 160 mg & HbA1c%<6.8. It will be good if you provide all the details and come in a private conversation then I will be able to guide and help treat your condition effectively. Thanks.

Regular massaging of the scalp with lukewarm oil helps to stimulate the hair follicles. This is also an easy way to cure hair growth deterrents like dandruff and fungal infections. Regular massaging increases the blood circulation in the scalp. It is also useful for lowering anxiety or stress that is often the underlying reason for thinning of hair. Recommended oils for 3 to 4 times-a-week massaging schedule includes coconut oil. You can alternate this with mustard oil. Keep the oil on for at least six hours before washing it off with a mild shampoo. Other oils that can be mixed with coconut oil in trace amounts for faster results include almond oil.

You can control your mind by meditation and yoga. You have to stop worrying unnecessarily and have a relaxed attitude to help you in work and life. YOU practise this to prevent depression later on.

Headache after getting up from sleep can be due to muscle fatigue, tension type headache, dehydration over 8-10 hours of sleep or may be due to an independent sleep disorder. Follow some general suggestions - have a light dinner with lots of fruits and salads at least 1-2 hours before going to bed. - donot exercise in evening hours, shift exercises to morning. - get up in the morning at fixed times. - avoid smoking or alcohol - consult an eye specialist if you have problems in vision. - have plenty of fluids during day, avoid tea, coffee and aerated drinks.

If you are serious about mood swings you must go meet with a counselor and determine that that is not developing into a pathological condition. You may be under tremendous stress because of this. Now stress is a memory buster, always. So if you handled stress better, you will certainly improve. With regard to memory, it is very important that your brain and body is ideally rested to be able to recall whatever is required, rather comfortably. Puzzles pose problems to the brain that help it to use new pathways and neurons, which give the brain considerable exercise. It taxes the left brain to use logic to solve the myriad possibilities which other activities do not stimulate. Crosswords are excellent for vocabulary learning and use. Jigsaws and Rubik cube stimulate different permutations to finally settle on the most likely one. Picture completion and anagrams help approach problem solving from several angles. Do Sudoku, and memory co-relation activities and skills. Have a good night?s sleep, have a good breakfast of more proteins, meditate often, remain free of stress, eat a lot of fiber (whole grains, fruits and vegetables), nuts, avocado, eat dark chocolate, do Yoga meditation exercises, etc. You need to check out if you are stronger visual or auditory. The visual is a better mode than the auditory. However, if you combine the two modes, you will get the best concentration. Have a special place of learning, which should be well lit, with soft painted walls, well-ventilated, with no distractions. When you get bored, study by writing. If you repeat learning at least five to seven times, you will apparently remember for a longer time. Sit comfortably but do not slouch. The reading material should be of a fairly large print. Study at small intervals of about 40 minutes and then take a break or change the subject. Short-term memory is a faculty of the left brain, and long-term memory is a feature of the right brain. When people are stressed, they tend to favor the right brain and abandon the left brain, where short-term memory resides. So, it is really very simple: deal with the stress and activate left brain functions. Here are a few suggestions to activate left brain function: shut your left nostril and breathe, move your eyes from right to left and vice versa for at least half a minute at a time, and do callisthenic exercises with some form of counting, regularly. There are some memory enhancing techniques and study methods that your teacher will be able to guide you with. Recently they have discovered that moderate consumption of red wine and peanuts do help.
