Weight loss journeys are trending these days like never before. People are becoming more health conscious day by day. And the first thing that gets ousted from the routine meals is ghee!! Ghee, or even butter, is often deemed as a hurdle in the weight loss programs. It can be an obstacle for sure when there isn’t a portion control. However, if consumed within an ideal range, it is very healthy for the human body.
Ghee is a type of clarified butter, having origins in the Indian subcontinent. It is known by different names around the world such as clarified butter, butter oil, drawn butter or simply anhydrous milk fat (AMF). It has been widely used in Ayurvedic health science since ages. Modern science also verifies that it has a host of health and cooking benefits, including a solid nutrient profile and a high smoke point. Ghee does not contain any lactose or casein. But it’s rich in short-chain and medium-chain fatty acids (25 percent or more) and butyrate.
Butter is made by churning fresh or fermented milk or cream. This is done to separate butterfat from buttermilk. It contains butterfat, milk, water, and proteins. But it has a comparatively lower smoke point and a limited shelf life. Butter contains 12 percent to 15 percent medium and short chain fatty acids. These fatty acids are not associated with any cardiovascular disease.
Some major differences between ghee and butter are as follows:
- Ghee is an excellent cooking medium whereas butter gets burnt at high temperatures.
- Butter produces a rancid smell when heated while ghee has a high smoke point and adds aroma to recipes.
- Butter has a very limited shelf life while ghee can stand without refrigeration for a longer period of time.
- Butter contains milk proteins which are difficult to digest for people allergic to milk.
Grass-fed butter is made from the milk obtained from the grass-fed cows. It has largely been brought into use nowadays owing to its numerous health benefits. Butter from the grass-fed cows is a major source of heart-healthy nutrients. It has 10-13 times more vitamin A, 5 times more conjugated linoleic acid (CLA) and 3 times more vitamin D than the conventional butter. Health benefits of grass-fed butter are:
- It contains conjugated linoleic acid (CLA) which helps to reduce the belly fat and supports muscle growth. CLA suppresses the inflammatory prostaglandins like PGE2 which in turn reduces inflammation. CLA also has a powerful effect on the stabilization of blood sugar.
- It is a good source of butyrate, which is a short chain fatty acid and helps in reducing inflammation.
- It contains Vitamin A (Retinol) and Vitamin K2 (Menaquinone) which has been proven to reverse arterial calcification and helps to increase bone density.
- It is a rich source of omega 3 fatty acids.
Here is an overview of the important features of the each:
- Contains CLA
- No lactose or casein
- Lower nutrient value
- Immunity booster
- Safe for lactose intolerant people
- Low smoke point
- High nutrient value
- High smoke point (250 degree C)
- Low shelf life

I had sex with my partner, unprotected one on 11 July, 2018. The earlier month I had my periods on 2, June 2018. Hence I was expecting my periods on 20th this month, however it's 7 days past now and it hasn't happened yet. Generally my periods get 5-6 days late. But my body is showing no symptoms involved in pregnancy and there was no ejaculation involved during the intercourse. There are no symptoms involved what so ever. Please guide me what should I do. There is no bleeding involved either, but there is small amount of menstrual pain if pressure is applied in the lower abdomen which is Normal before my periods.
I have problem of pennies skin opening mouth shrinkage. When, not erect, skin can be easily pulled back, but when full erect, it is difficult due to skin mouth is narrow. It do not happen day today, but automatically gets ok and again repeats after some days or months. It feels very dry skin of pennies and when pulled back by force, it gets turned at the circumference of opening mouth and swells, being difficult time thereafter. Because of this, I do not dare to have intercourse, and wait for automatically fixing of the problem for few days. Please suggest.
Hello, I am 23 years old. My penis size is about 6" on full erection. Is there any treatment to get longer and thicker penis permanently ?
I had this question bugging me from quite a long time now. Is masturbation bad for health? Like will it affect the efficiency of my workout sessions?
At a point when our bodies process the protein we eat, the procedure creates waste products. In kidneys, millions of tiny blood vessels act as filters since they have even tinier holes in them. As blood flows through these vessels, little molecules such as waste items may press through the gaps. These waste items turn out to be a part of the urine. Helpful substances, such as protein and red blood cells are too enormous to go through the gaps in the filter and stay in the blood.
Diabetes and kidneys: Diabetes can harm the kidneys. Abnormal amounts of glucose make the kidneys filter a lot of blood. After a couple of years, they begin to spill and helpful protein is thereby, lost in urine. Having low protein levels in the urine is called micro albuminuria.
Medication: When kidney disease is analyzed on time, during micro albuminuria, a few medications may keep kidney disease from getting worse. Having elevated levels of protein in the urine is called macro albuminuria. When kidney disease is looked up some other time during macro albuminuria, end-stage renal disease (ESRD) usually follows.
Causes: Strain on the organs may cause the kidneys to lose their filtering capacity. Waste items then begin to develop in the blood. Finally, the kidneys start to fail. This failure, ESRD, is intense. A patient with ESRD needs a kidney transplant or a blood filtration by a machine (dialysis).
Other complications: Individuals with diabetes will probably have other kidney-related issues such as bladder infections and nerve damages in the bladder.
Preventing complications: Not everybody with diabetes goes through a kidney disease. Elements that can impact kidney disease improvement include genetics, blood-sugar control and blood pressure. The more a person keeps diabetes and blood pressure under control, the lower the chances of getting a kidney disease.
Keeping your glucose level high can counteract diabetic kidney problems. Research has demonstrated that blood glucose control diminishes the danger of micro albuminuria by 33%. For individuals who suffer from micro albuminuria have now a reduced danger of advancing to macro albuminuria. Different studies have recommended that blood glucose control can reverse micro albuminuria.
Treatment: Essential treatments for kidney infection include control of blood glucose and blood pressure. Blood pressure dramatically affects the rate at which the condition progresses. Indeed, even a gentle increase in blood pressure can rapidly aggravate a kidney infection. Four approaches to bring down your blood pressure are:
- Shedding pounds
- Eating less salt
- Maintaining a strategic distance from liquor and tobacco
- Exercising regularly
A low-protein diet can decrease the amount of lost protein in the urine and increase the protein levels in the blood. Never begin a low-protein diet without talking to your physician or nephrologist.
