Hi thanks for your query and welcome to lybrate.You have mentioned back pain as a main problem. Can you please tell me your exact age and duration of symptoms? if you have localized back pain with no other symptoms like radiating leg pain, neurological symptoms like numbness, weakness, paresthesias etc, then you can start with following recommendations for initial period of 2-3 weeks: - to maintain proper posture of your back while working and sleeping - if pain is more then you can take a short course of an anti-inflammatory medication like tab etoshine or paracetamol or one which suits you - physical therapy initially under supervision of a trained physiotherapist and then to continue at home - adequate calcium & vitamin d intake if levels are low in body - ice packs can applied if your pain is acute, then hot fomentation can be done at home - analgesic spray for local application can be used and is easily available. - avoid lifting heavyweight/ acute forward bending in mornings etc we will observe you for next 2-3 weeks how you respond to this conservative management protocol. If you are not feeling better, then we will have to get some investigations like, dynamic x rays of lower back and few blood tests for evaluation. Hi Apply pranacharya restopain oil or prasarini oil on your affected part then give hot fomentation. Take maha rasnadi kwath 2-2 tsf twice a day. And agni tundi vati and maha yograj guggul 1-1 tab twice a day.

I am 21 year old female and have backache for last 2 months. I have used pain relief ointment.
1) Do massage with warm sesame oil or suitable oil for 15 min., afterwards take hot fomentation for 10 min. 2) Start natural calcium supplement. 3) Do regular stretching exercise 4) In yoga DO BHUJANGASAN, HALASAN & SURYANAMASKAR. This will give you relief in mild to moderate cases. LIFE-STYLE CORRECTION 1) Correct your sitting posture. 2) Take small pillow or back rest for lower back. 3) Foot should rest to floor easily. 4) Take small break after 1 hr & walk few steps. 5) Do neck & upper back extension, give feedback after 4 days.

Hello. Weakness can be due to deficiency. May be you are not taking enough calories or protein or vitamins in diet. Eat healthy diet including all green leafy veges, fresh fruits, protein rich diet, milk and milk products, nuts, lots of water, soya food. For pain take homoeopathic medicine:- bryonia alba 30 (5 drops three times a day one hr after meal) take it and feed me back. Keep in touch for any othet help.

Quad Clenches: Lie flat on your back or sit upright on a chair with leg kept horizontally on another surface. Now, tighten the muscle on the front of the thigh by pushing your knee down. You should feel your thigh muscles clench, Hold for 3 secs. Repeat 10 times twice a day. Short Arcs: Lie flat on your back or sit upright with your leg placed horizontally on a flat surface like a chair or bed. Place a rolled up towel under the knee. Pull your toes towards you and clench you thigh muscles. Slowly lift your foot up off the bed until your knee is straight (keep your knee resting on the towel). Hold for 3 secs and slowly lower them on the chair. Repeat 10 times twice a day. Straight Leg Raise: Lie flat on your back. One leg and knee will be straight and other leg should be bent. Pull your toes towards you and tighten/clench the muscle on the front of the thigh, locking your knee straight. Lift your foot up in the air, about 6 inches off the bed. Hold for 3 secs and slowly lower the leg. The knee must remain straight the whole time you are doing this exercise.

Hello doctor. I am 33 years old. I am working in retail since last 9 years. My job is to stand 10 to 12 hours a day. From past 2 years I am having very bad pain on both my heels of my foot. I can not stand for more then 1 hour. My pains are unbearable. I have tried some medicine but nothing worked out for me. Morning when I wake up from my sleep, I can not just stand and walk. It requires detailed investigation and examination. Preliminary investigations suggested: hb, tlc, dlc, esr, blood sugar fasting & pp, uric acid vit d urine r/e x-ray of the affected part. Anyway it may be tried sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Spring beds, folding beds or thick mattress are harmful use no pillow under the head. Do hot fomantation paracetamol 250mg od & sos x 5days. Caldikind plus 1tab od x10. Do neck, back, knee & general exercises. It may have to be further investigated. Do not ignore it. Let it not become beginning of a bigger problem. Make sure that patient is not allergic to any of the medicines that he/she is going to take. If it does not give relief in 4-5days, inform.

For the te being pl take Godanti and Giloy both 500 mg bd with water. Put Shadbindu oil in both nasal cavities early morning.

Hi thanks for your query and welcome to lybrate. I am Dr. Akshay from fortis hospital, new delhi. See if you have pain in foot region, then it can be due to multiple reasons depending upon which region of foot is involved like front of the foot or back of the foot region etc? but if there is a burning sensation also associated then it may indicate a nerve involvement, so please tell clearly what is the problem. Also have you got tests like vitamin b 12, vitamin d levels done recently after the onset of your complaints? also if you can send me a clinical picture from your mobile phone showing which site do you exactly feel pain and burning sensation, it will be useful? do not hesitate to contact me if you need any further assistance.

Grow your weight and if you hv no stiffness in your legs then do strength exercise and if spasm ya tightness then stretching your leg muscle with heat formation and avoid over walk and strain.

It is obvious that there are some degenerative changes which have set in your joints both in back and knee regions. To proceed in your case 1) for knees: please tell me duration of pain and what are aggravating factors? how much distance can you walk and what is the analgesic requirement to carry out activities of daily routine? what medications you generally take and what has been your treatment history till now for existing problem. I also need to see your latest knee x rays so that I know what grade of arthritis are we dealing with on your case? 2) for your back: kindly elaborate your problem as to a detailed discussion of your back pain which means duration of pain and mode of onset. I would also like to ask you if it is associated with any leg pain or any other neurological symptoms like numbness, paraesthesias (electrical shock like abnormal sensations) or any weakness in limbs. Please also tell me about any associated symptoms like fever, weight loss etc. What medications you generally take and what has been your treatment history till now for existing problem. Take hot and cold fermentation 1 min each, for 5 reps. Do atleast twice in a day for 1 week. If pain improves fine, otherwise take physiotherapy sessions. Thank you.

Our suggestion would be to do hot water fermentation along with cold (ice) therapy. You shall also keep a pillow under the knee while sleeping, next is you can keep ice in the painful area for about 5--10 minutes.
