Homeopathy: How Work in Chronic Kidney Disorder

Homeopath,
Homeopathy: How Work in Chronic Kidney Disorder

Chronic Kidney Disorder Homeopathic Treatment

Homoeopathic treatment:

Homeopathy does not identify kidneys as a simple organ of excretion or selective filtration, but appreciates it in relation to the individual as a whole. Kidneys have a comprehensive role, the fluids coming to it and going from it impinge on every organ, tissue and cell of our body. Homeopathy plays a significant role in long term management at all stages and variants of nephrotic syndrome. The basic approach in homeopathy is to evaluate nephrotic syndrome in its totality, whereby a lot of highlight is given to the patient as a whole besides thoroughly studying various aspects of the disorder. Homeopathic remedies help arrest further progress of the disease and assist in recuperating faster, reduce and eventually stop the need for steroids, reduce duration, frequency and severity of the attacks by regulating the autoimmune processes. The remedies manage the protein leakage, by amending the glomerular function of the kidney. Remedies also uplift the body’s own healing capacity, whereby precluding the frequent infections such as colds, throat infections, etc.

Homeopathic remedies when taken in the preliminary stage of nephrotic syndrome can prevent complications like renal failure, consequently, limiting the option for dialysis in instances, where kidney damage has advanced, homeopathy discourages further progression of the syndrome, and will contribute in reducing the frequency of dialysis, or at times, even eliminate the need for dialysis. Homeopathic approach focuses on a detailed case study, which involves the medical history of the patient, underlying pathology, mental, emotional and spiritual aspect of the patient, family history, personal history, possible causative factors, and much more. The homeopathic focus is not on treating the disease but in healing the person who is sick and in reviving the health. Homeopathic remedies will help enhance the quality of life, by strengthening the immune system of the patient, thus, making them less susceptible to infections.

Hence, homeopathy can skillfully manage symptoms related with nephrotic syndrome. With well-timed homeopathic treatment it may be possible to avoid steroid dependency and kidney failure

Kidneys are two bean shaped organs, positioned at the focal point of our back, on either side of the spinal column, underneath the rib cage. Kidneys work as sophisticated recycling devices, separating urea, mineral salts, toxins and other waste products from the blood. They safeguard water, salts and electrolytes that are essential for the operation of other organs and systems in the body. Kidneys also produce hormones that control red blood cell production, blood pressure and calcium metabolism. Kidneys perform a life sustaining job for the body by maintaining a stable balance of body chemicals. Any malfunctioning in this balance leads to kidney disorders, one of which is nephrotic syndrome (chronic renal disease). Nephrotic syndrome (chronic renal disease) is a forewarning that your kidneys are being damaged.

Nephrotic syndrome (kidney failure) is a multifaceted immunological disorder where there is unusual leakage of protein, prompting low levels of proteins and high levels of fat in blood and swelling of body parts. Nephrotic syndrome is an outcome of damage to the small blood vessels in the kidneys known as glomeruli that strains wastes and surplus water from the blood, and passes it on to the bladder as urine. When the glomeruli are operational, they uphold protein in the blood and avoid leakage into the urine. When damaged, they not execute this role successfully, and 3 grams or more of the protein can escape daily out of the blood. When blood is low in protein, fluid accumulates in tissues rather than circulating, causing puffiness all over the body. Normal amounts of blood protein are essential to help control fluid throughout the body.

Symptoms:

Swelling on the face, around eyes, ankles and feet.
Stomach pain.
Low urine output.
Excessive protein excretion in the urine.
Weight gain from fluid retention.
Muscle wasting.
Loss of appetite.
Frothy urine.
Shortness of breath.
Low or high blood pressure depending on age.
Nutritional deficiencies.
Stunted growth in children.
Hair loss.
Delicate nails.
Blood clotting inside the kidney or excessive bleeding.
Kidney failure.
Shock.
Kidney failure symptoms like sleepless vomiting weight loss bad breadth sore mouth weakness increased urination.

Causes of nephrotic syndrome:

Minimal change disease in children, a kidney disorder triggered by an allergic reaction, viral infection, immunization, etc.
Membranous glomerulonephritis, an inflammation in the kidney.
Strep throat.
Pre-eclampsia, toxemia during pregnancy.
Mononucleosis, an infection caused by epstein barr virus.
Hepatitis, a contagious disease of the liver.
Overuse of non-steroidal anti inflammatory drugs, substance abuse, etc.
Genetic disorders like down’s syndrome, hemophilia, cancers, celiac disease, etc.
Immune disorders like allergies, asthma, diabetes, hypertension, rheumatoid arthritis, etc.
Systemic lupus erythematosus, an autoimmune disorder that affects the skin, joints, kidneys and other organs.
Multiple myelomas, cancer of the plasma cells in bone marrow.
Amyloidosis, a disorder in which protein fibers are deposited in tissues and organs.
Segmental glomerulosclerosis, scarring of the tiny blood vessels in the kidney.
Heart failure.

Kidney failure heart failure oedema na k imbalance in serum.

Self care measure:

Eat enough protein, to replace the protein loss in the urine. However, excessive protein should be avoided, as filtering of surplus protein can cause tubular damage to the kidneys.
Reduce sodium intake to ease the swelling.
Avoid fatty foods.
Avoid caffeine, smoking and alcohol.
Monitor your fluid intake.
Eat more fruits and vegetables.
Garlic, ginger and parsley are strengthening herbs for the kidney.
Self care measure of kidney disease.

Dear Mr. Lybrate-user, this urine report does not indicate the presence of cancer. A test called urine cytology can show the presence of cancer cells in urine. I would like to know if you have any particular problems related to urination. That would help in diagnosing the problem. This report suggests possible infection. A urine culture and sensitivity test will help in choosing the antibiotics required for treatment.

Urinary Infection - Causes And Treatment!

Urinary tract infection is a widespread disorder that most of the human beings face, especially in later stages of their lives. Women who are sexually active are more prone for this infection.

The symptoms that are identified with urinary tract infection are frequent urination, pain and burning sensation at the time of passing urine. In certain cases, women even experience leaking of urine while sleeping. It is advised not to take this condition casually as it can lead to further complications. Medications need to be taken to reduce the discomfort and treat the infection.

Causes and predisposing factors of Urinary Infection:

  1. Urinary tract infection is mostly caused by bacteria.
  2. Sexual intercourse, pregnancydiabetes and stones in urinary tract predispose to or aggravate urinary tract infection.
  3. Chances of urinary tract infection are more if a person has sex with many partners.
  4. In postmenopausal women, incidence of urinary tract infection is more due to depletion of certain hormones.
  5. Women should not hold back the urge for urinating frequently, as it makes one prone to infection.

Management of Urinary Tract Infection:

There are simple and helpful home remedies that can supplement management of urinary tract infection: The latter alone are not enough. You have to consult Doctor for proper treatment of this condition. Certain supportive measures that one can take in cases of urinary tract infection are as follows:

  1. It is very necessary to drink enough water, as it would help flush the bacteria from the bladder that cause the infection. It is advisable to drink at least 80 ounces of water on a daily basis.
  2. Spicy foods and bladder irritants like caffeine, carbonated drinks and artificial sweeteners should preferably be cut off from the diet.
  3. Include healthy foods in your diet that are high on fibre and helpful in digestive health of your body.
  4. It is advisable to adopt healthier habits and quit smoking. One should wear loose clothing and make use of personal hygiene products that are free from any fragrance.
  5. At times, there is burning, pressure, and pain around pubic area in cases of urinary tract infection. Applying a heating pad helps soothe the area. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a gynaecologist.

Blood In Urine In Kids - Know The Reasons Behind It!

Pediatrician, Delhi
Blood In Urine In Kids - Know The Reasons Behind It!

The kidneys are the main excretory organs and remove all toxins and wastes from the body in a liquid medium, the urine. The urine is normally straw coloured as there are filters which do not allow blood to enter the kidneys. However, due to various reasons, when there is a disease in the urinary tract, red blood cells can escape into the urine. The urine then assumes a pinkish tinge; the exact colour would depend on the amount of blood leaked. While the thought of pinkish urine is scary, it becomes a bigger concern when seen in children. Read on to know a little more about the types, causes, and ways to manage this condition.

Types:

  1. Microscopic: When there is blood visible only through a microscope. This is quite common in children, and unless there is no accompanying kidney disease, it does not pose a problem when found occasionally.
  2. Gross: It is when the color of the urine changes to a pinkish tinge. This is of concern and requires immediate attention.

Causes:

There are various reasons and some of them are listed below

  1. Inherited causes: Conditions like sickle cell disease, polycystic kidney diseaseKidney stones and inherited nephritis.
  2. Structural causes: Cysts in the kidneys can cause hematuria
  3. Trauma: An injury (to the abdominal area) during sports should be ruled out, which could have damaged the problem
  4. Infections: Infections along the entire urinary tract right from glomerulonephritis to kidneys to bladder can cause blood in the urine
  5. Imbalances in minerals: High levels of serum calcium, which puts them at a higher risk of developing kidney stones later. Dietary calcium should be reduced. These children also could have a history of stones in the family.
  6. Idiopathic: When the cause of the hematuria is not known, it is termed idiopathic.

Associated issues/Diagnosis:

Hematuria is an indication or a symptom of an underlying medical condition (be it infection or trauma) and the underlying cause always needs complete evaluation. Accompanying symptoms can help narrow down the diagnosis. If any inherited cause is suspected, presence of hematuria should always be assessed in parents and grandparents.

  1. Check for history of trauma
  2. Known prior kidney disease

Symptoms of infection

  1. Family medical history
  2. Urine tests to analyse its composition
  3. Urine culture, MRI, CT scanning, or biopsy may be required in more serious cases.

When to worry?

  1. Associated proteinuria
  2. Microscopic hematuria which is persistent
  3. Kids with high blood pressure
  4. Kids with other existing kidney diseases

Management:

In most cases, no specific treatment for hematuria is required as the condition subsides after the underlying problem is addressed. For instance, once the infection clears, the hematuria also clears. Follow-up urine tests may be required to confirm that it is cleared. Blood in urine must always be evaluated by pediatric nephrologist as its causes range from very mild disease to rapidly evolving kidney failure, which may occur over days to weeks. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a pediatrician.

I read article about the Red wine today. I would like to know whether Red wine can be drink if a person is diabetic? (Not on insulin). And some doctor suggested my wife not to eat Red/Black grapes as she is suffering from kidney stones also. Please let me know. Thanks

I read article about the Red wine today. I would like to know whether Red wine can be drink if a person is diabetic? ...
Consuming grapes is not related to formation of kidney stones. Regarding red wine According to the American Diabetes Association, drinking red wine — or any alcoholic beverage — can lower blood sugar for up to 24 hours. Because of this, they recommend checking your blood sugar before you drink, while you drink, and monitoring it for up to 24 hours after drinking. Effects on blood sugar aside, there is some evidence that red wine might provide benefits to people with type 2 diabetes.

Best Homeopathic Medicines for Treatment of Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD)

Chronic kidney disease also known as chronic renal disease is a form of kidney disorder where renal function is progressively lost over a long period. This disease has got unspecific symptoms and includes loss of appetite, feeling unwell, etc. People with high blood pressure or diabetes are more likely to have CKD. This disease leads to other complications, such as cardiovascular disease, anaemia and pericarditis.

Homeopathy is an ideal and effective form of treatment chronic kidney diseases. Homeopathy is natural and tries to correct all the underlying causes of the condition. General symptoms and constitutional indications are considered in homeopathy before choosing the best medicine. Here is a list of several homeopathic medicines, which are used to treat chronic kidney diseases like Kidney Stone Treatment, along with the symptoms in case of which they are used.

  1. Apis mellifica: This homeopathic medicine is not used in acute forms of CKD. Symptoms of this type include oedematous swelling on the face, paleness, headaches, pain in the back and limb, oedema pulmonum, etc. It is used when there are dull aches in the kidney, reduced urination and micturition. The urine contains albumen in high levels and blood corpuscles. Eruption of the skin occurs, and the patient feels drowsy.
  2. Arsenicum: This medicine is used in all stages of CKD and is one of the best remedies. It is used in later stages of the disease when the patient's skin becomes pale, and he develops a waxen appearance, excess thirst and diarrhoea. The shade of the urine is dark and full of albumen. Dyspnoea attacks are also observed while lying down during the night. Taking aconite produces a mucus and the patient gets relief.
  3. Aurum muriaticum: This homeopathic medicine is used to cure renal diseases such as morbus brightii caused from a gout or from syphilis. Digestive and nervous problems are indicated along with great irritability. Vertigo may also be caused.

  5. Cantharis: This homeopathic cure is used in nephritis. There is a cutting pain in the lumbar region, the urine contains blood and the flow is in the form of drops. Cantharis is used in post diphtheric kidney disorders with dropsy.
  6. Conavallaria: Conavallaria is used in case of nephritis occurring due to heart disorders. It is used when the heart functions irregularly and also in anasarca and ascites because of mitral insufficiency.

Homeopathic medicines are very efficient for the  treatment of chronic kidney diseases. There are homeopathic cures for all types of renal diseases.

Dear , describe your complains and also urine report. There are many reasons why you get recurrence or relapse of infection like wrong drugs, inadequate dose inadequate duration and wrong way of taking them, most important thing is to find out under lying cause which makes you susceptible. So far as I am conscern alcasol is not the treatment for infection and infection means you must have more then 5 pus cells in urine. If only alcasol gives you relief then you might not have infection after all. Dr. Kiran mehta.
