I am an initial stage patient of rheumatoid arthritis and lupus (named as RHUPUS - RA+SLE. I am having medication for last 6 months now. The bone joint pains have reduced tremendously. SLE should be also in check. Though I would not know. My question is - how will I know that my disease is in check. Also for how long I have to take medication. This is important as the medication has severe side effects on my digestion system. So much so that I am on daily medication by A Gastro specialist. Also I have reduced the dosage from 200 mg to 100 mg of my RHUPUS medication as the doctor prescribed dosage had unbearable side effects on my digestive system. Is all this ok or I am doing something wrong. As ever thanks for all your help and guidance. Best regards.

Hello, as there are several meds involved in typically treating rhupus, it's impossible to answer your specific question without more details. But I can give you a basic understanding of what your disease is. Rhupus is basically SLE, but with the arthritic features of RA. The best way to see if the arthritis is controlled is via symptoms and intermittent X-rays or sonograms of the relevant joints. SLE though is quite different. Clinical features along with certain lab tests like esr, ds-dna titre, complement levels, etc help to assess disease control. An important caveat is that absence of symptoms is not equal to disease control, rather low degree smouldering disease is possible, hence do not modify medication without a rheumatologist's advice, to prevent long term complications. Remain active and exercise regularly while keeping a positive mind as the treatments available today are excellent. Tc.

I am told that one should not sit in cross-legged position as it may cause pain in the knee joints. However, in India most people sit in cross legged for prayer, puja and the like, and for prolonged periods ranging from half an hour to even 2-3 hours. In Yoga, this popular posture is called Padmasana and is commended for physical fitness. Ortho, Ayurveda, Homeo, Siddha, Tibetan and Unani experts may however enlighten properly.

Yes! There is lot of stress on knee joint when you sit cross leg. If you have knee pain and you want to prevent your self from further damage follow instructions, take chair and pray. Keep doing yoga but upper body ,breathing and ask your physio for special Exs designed for knee. Best of luck.

I have foot pain so what I can do to feel relief my foot so please contact me to be a good day.
Pain in the heel not only restricts movement, but the general discomfort on walking or standing also disturbs the whole persona of a person. The pain can be attributed to a medical condition known as Calcaneal Spur. It refers to a sharp, pointed, horny outgrowth on the calcaneal bone present in the heel. The outgrowth is the build-up of calcium deposit on the heel bone. The reason behind Calcaneal Spur formation is repeated stress on the heels. When the heels are exposed to repeated stress, it leads to damage of muscle, ligaments and fascia that cover the heel bone. As a result, the heels are exposed and become prone to trauma and formation of Calcaneal Spur. People who are obese and athletes are prone to develop Calcaneal Spurs. Wearing of high heels and ill-fitting shoes also spurs the formation of calcium deposits on the heel bone. The main symptom of Calcaneal Spur is pain in heel around the spur. The pain gets worse when a person steps on ground after a period of inactivity especially in morning following a long rest. The pain increases while walking, running and standing. The character of pain may be described as sharp pain, dull pain or pain as from pin-pricking. Homeopathic medicines offer a very safe and complete treatment of Calcaneal Spur. The Homeopathic medicines for calcaneal spur are made of natural substances and have no side effects. You can easily take an online consultation for further treatment guidance and permanent cure without any side effects
