HELLO, I am asking this for my mom, she is having an issue in her uterus, the query is that will she get any future issues if she removes her uterus, she is having a fear of having heart attack. She has gastric issue she gets pain in her chest so she has this feeling that something may happen. Kindly let me know is this possible, or there is nothing to worry.

Removal of the uterus is done under anesthesia and doctors give a thorough check up of entire body and blood tests done for sugar and lipids and ecg and halter tests plus basic tests done like hb and for infections and routine urine test. Regarding aftercare post surgery, it's like any other major abdominal surgery where internal healing takes 2 months plus but one does start walking around and doing basics for self plus simple walks after a week. After surgery she is like any other woman at time of menopausal phase, prone to heart attacks and walk bones and tendency to put on weight @half a kg per year and some amount of mental changes like feelings of neglected, as children are busy with their own lives. But no hormones are needed to cope with this phase, it's better to be prepared and get some involvement in hobbies and other fruitful activities. Regarding her risk to heart don't worry, doctors will do a thorough check up before surgery. Do write back if need be.

lybrate-user, Thanks for the query. I have read all the details given. She does seem to have multiple problems. For swelling in the body there many reasons like uncontrolled hypothyroidism (with high TSH), high BP, kidney related issues, so without knowing the exact details it is difficult to give any opinion. My suggestion is please send following details of her: TSH, T4 & T3 levels, BP readings, blood glucose levels (both fasting and after food) and CBC (complete blood cell count) and lipid profile. Plus her weight, height whether she does any exercise (walking) and current medications with dosages. It is better if you come in a private conversation then I will be able to guide specifically and even prescribe the medications. Even to advise you I need to know all the details. Thanks.

it may gas-distention trouble due to indigestion. have simple bland food (Khichadi) for next few days avoiding junk, oily, spicy fried and deep-fried food items. drink lot of water. Add Jeera, Ajwain, Sonth in ur food items – these herbs prevent gas formation. Reduce intake of tea – coffee. Instead u can have green tea. dont lye-down or sit immediately after having meals. have a walk instead. maintain good bowel habits. Have more of Coconut Water, Gulkand etc to relieve acidity, Avoid too much of Cauliflower, Peas, Brinjals, Namkeens as snacks etc. Do regular walking and mild exercises. You may also do a weekly fast – just to relax and calm down ur system. Fasting also helps in cleansing of the system. for gas some herbal medicines might also help you but after proper history taking. For that u may consult me privately over Lyberate. Fitness for employment depends upon type of employment. But the question is why you have af in the first place. Is there any structural heart problem or simply af. Your af may possibly be eleminated. Please consult a good electrophysiologist if you have only af.

Excess oily, fatty, cholesterol rich diet, junk food 8. Hyperacidity, musculr pain 9. Heredity and genetic factor prevention follow the advice given below 1. Avoid stress and strain 2. Lifestyle changes can help you control and prevent high blood pressure, even if you're taking blood pressure medication. Here's what you can do: Eat healthy foods. Eat a healthy diet. Try the Dietary Approaches to Stop Hypertension (DASH) diet, which emphasizes fruits, vegetables, whole grains, poultry, fish and low-fat dairy foods. Get plenty of potassium, which can help prevent and control high blood pressure. Eat less saturated fat and trans fat. Decrease the salt in your diet. A lower sodium level — 1,500 milligrams (mg) a day — is appropriate for people 51 years of age or older, and individuals of any age who are black or who have hypertension, diabetes or chronic kidney disease. Otherwise healthy people can aim for 2,300 mg a day or less. While you can reduce the amount of salt you eat by putting down the saltshaker, you generally should also pay attention to the amount of salt that's in the processed foods you eat, such as canned soups or frozen dinners. Maintain a healthy weight. Keeping a healthy weight, or losing weight if you're overweight or obese, can help you control your high blood pressure and lower your risk of related health problems. If you're overweight, losing even 5 pounds (2.3 kilograms) can lower your blood pressure. Increase physical activity. Regular physical activity can help lower your blood pressure, manage stress, reduce your risk of several health problems and keep your weight under control. For most healthy adults, the Department of Health and Human Services recommends that you get at least 150 minutes a week of moderate aerobic activity or 75 minutes a week of vigorous aerobic activity, or a combination or moderate and vigorous activity. Aim to do muscle-strengthening exercises at least two days a week. Limit alcohol. Even if you're healthy, alcohol can raise your blood pressure. If you choose to drink alcohol, do so in moderation. For healthy adults, that means up to one drink a day for women of all ages and men older than age 65, and up to two drinks a day for men age 65 and younger. One drink equals 12 ounces of beer, 5 ounces of wine or 1.5 ounces of 80-proof liquor. Don't smoke. Tobacco injures blood vessel walls and speeds up the process of hardening of the arteries. If you smoke, ask your doctor to help you quit. Manage stress. Reduce stress as much as possible. Practice healthy coping techniques, such as muscle relaxation, deep breathing or meditation. Getting regular physical activity and plenty of sleep can help, too. Monitor your blood pressure at home. Home blood pressure monitoring can help you keep closer tabs on your blood pressure, show if medication is working, and even alert you and your doctor to potential complications. Home blood pressure monitoring isn't a substitute for visits to your doctor, and home blood pressure monitors may have some limitations. Even if you get normal readings, don't stop or change your medications or alter your diet without talking to your doctor first. If your blood pressure is under control, you may be able to make fewer visits to your doctor if you monitor your blood pressure at home. Practice relaxation or slow, deep breathing. Practice taking deep, slow breaths to help relax. There are some devices available that promote slow, deep breathing. However, it's questionable whether these devices have a significant effect on lowering your blood pressure.

Heart palpitations are a feeling that your heart is beating too hard or too fast, skipping a beat, or fluttering. You may notice heart palpitations in your chest, throat, or neck. Heart palpitations can be bothersome or frightening. They usually aren't serious or harmful, though, and often go away on their own. Most of the time, they're related to stress and anxiety or to consumption of stimulants such as caffeine, nicotine, or alcohol. Palpitations also often occur during pregnancy. In rare cases, palpitations can be a sign of a more serious heart condition. Therefore, if you have heart palpitations, make arrangements to see your doctor. And seek immediate medical attention if along with palpitations, you experience shortness of breath, dizziness, chest pain, or fainting. A thorough physical examination and Medical History of your problem is required to rule out for any underlying cause. If an underlying cause is found, the right treatment can reduce or eliminate palpitations. If your palpitations are not related to an underlying cause, lifestyle changes, including stress management and the avoidance of common triggers, can help prevent them. Causes of Heart Palpitations Many things can cause heart palpitations. In majority of cases, the cause is either related to your heart or is unknown. Non-heart-related causes of palpitations include: • Strong emotions such as anxiety, fear, or stress; palpitations often occur during panic attacks. • Vigorous physical activity • Caffeine, nicotine, alcohol, or illegal street drugs such as cocaine and amphetamines • Medical conditions, including thyroid disease, a low blood sugar level, anemia, low blood pressure, fever, and dehydration • Hormonal changes during menstruation, pregnancy, or the perimenopausal period; sometimes, palpitations during pregnancy are signs of anemia. • Medications, including diet pills, decongestants, asthma inhalers, and some drugs used to prevent arrhythmias (a serious heart rhythm problem) or treat an underactive thyroid • Certain herbal and nutritional supplements • Abnormal electrolyte levels Some people experience palpitations after eating heavy meals that are rich in carbohydrates, sugar, or fat. Sometimes, eating foods with high levels of monosodium glutamate (MSG), nitrates, or sodium can bring them on. If you have heart palpitations after eating certain foods, the problem could be food sensitivity. Keeping a food diary can help you identify which foods to avoid. Palpitations can also be related to underlying heart disease. When they are, palpitations are more likely to represent arrhythmia. Heart conditions associated with palpitations include: • Prior heart attack • Coronary artery disease • Other heart problems such as congestive heart failure, heart valve problems, or heart muscle problems In you case and at your age there is a strong possibility that yours is a stressv related problem and start doing stress management exercises especially BRAMARI PRANAYAM daily for 10 minutes and avoid habit of over eating and control on your weight but again I will suggest you to consult your doctor or with me in person as I can only come to a correct diagnosis after physical examination. There are two types of high blood pressure. 1. Primary (essential) hypertension--For most adults, there's no identifiable cause of high blood pressure. This type of high blood pressure, called primary (essential) hypertension, tends to develop gradually over many years. 2. Secondary hypertension--Some people have high blood pressure caused by an underlying condition. This type of high blood pressure, called secondary hypertension, tends to appear suddenly and cause higher blood pressure than does primary hypertension. Various conditions and medications can lead to secondary hypertension, including: •Obstructive sleep apnea- •Kidney problems •Adrenal gland tumors •Thyroid problems- •Certain defects in blood vessels you're born with (congenital) •Certain medications, such as birth control pills, cold remedies, decongestants, over-the-counter pain relievers and some prescription drugs- •Illegal drugs, such as cocaine and amphetamines •Alcohol abuse or chronic alcohol use High blood pressure has many risk factors, including: 1. Age. The risk of high blood pressure increases as you age. Through early middle age, or about age 45, high blood pressure is more common in men. Women are more likely to develop high blood pressure after age 65. 2. Race. High blood pressure is particularly common among blacks, often developing at an earlier age than it does in whites. Serious complications, such as stroke, heart attack and kidney failure, also are more common in blacks. 3. Family history. High blood pressure tends to run in families.- 4. Being overweight or obese. The more you weigh the more blood you need to supply oxygen and nutrients to your tissues. As the volume of blood circulated through your blood vessels increases, so does the pressure on your artery walls. 5. Not being physically active. People who are inactive tend to have higher heart rates. The higher your heart rate, the harder your heart must work with each contraction and the stronger the force on your arteries. Lack of physical activity also increases the risk of being overweight. 6. Using tobacco. Not only does smoking or chewing tobacco immediately raise your blood pressure temporarily, but the chemicals in tobacco can damage the lining of your artery walls. This can cause your arteries to narrow, increasing your blood pressure. Secondhand smoke also can increase your blood pressure. 7. Too much salt (sodium) in your diet. Too much sodium in your diet can cause your body to retain fluid, which increases blood pressure. 8. Too little potassium in your diet. Potassium helps balance the amount of sodium in your cells. If you don't get enough potassium in your diet or retain enough potassium, you may accumulate too much sodium in your blood. 9. Too little vitamin D in your diet. It's uncertain if having too little vitamin D in your diet can lead to high blood pressure. Vitamin D may affect an enzyme produced by your kidneys that affects your blood pressure. 10. Drinking too much alcohol. Over time, heavy drinking can damage your heart. Having more than two drinks a day for men and more than one drink a day for women may affect your blood pressure. If you drink alcohol, do so in moderation. For healthy adults, that means up to one drink a day for women of all ages and men older than age 65, and up to two drinks a day for men age 65 and younger. One drink equals 360 ML of beer, 100 ML of wine or 45 ML of 80-proof liquor.- 11. Stress. High levels of stress can lead to a temporary increase in blood pressure. If you try to relax by eating more, using tobacco or drinking alcohol, you may only increase problems with high blood pressure. 12. Certain chronic conditions. Certain chronic conditions also may increase your risk of high blood pressure, such as kidney disease, diabetes and sleep apnea. Sometimes pregnancy contributes to high blood pressure, as well. Although high blood pressure is most common in adults, children may be at risk, too. For some children, high blood pressure is caused by problems with the kidneys or heart. But for a growing number of kids, poor lifestyle habits, such as an unhealthy diet, obesity and lack of exercise, contribute to high blood pressure.- COMPLICATIONS The excessive pressure on your artery walls caused by high blood pressure can damage your blood vessels, as well as organs in your body. The higher your blood pressure and the longer it goes uncontrolled, the greater the damage. Uncontrolled high blood pressure can lead to: 1. Heart attack or stroke. High blood pressure can cause hardening and thickening of the arteries (atherosclerosis), which can lead to a heart attack, stroke or other complications. 2. Aneurysm. Increased blood pressure can cause your blood vessels to weaken and bulge, forming an aneurysm. If an aneurysm ruptures, it can be life-threatening. 3. Heart failure. To pump blood against the higher pressure in your vessels, your heart muscle thickens. Eventually, the thickened muscle may have a hard time pumping enough blood to meet your body's needs, which can lead to heart failure. 4. Weakened and narrowed blood vessels in your kidneys. This can prevent these organs from functioning normally. 5. Thickened, narrowed or torn blood vessels in the eyes. This can result in vision loss. 6. Metabolic syndrome. This syndrome is a cluster of disorders of your body's metabolism, including increased waist circumference; high triglycerides; low high-density lipoprotein (HDL) cholesterol, the" good" cholesterol; high blood pressure; and high insulin levels. These conditions make you more likely to develop diabetes, heart disease and stroke. 7. Trouble with memory or understanding. Uncontrolled high blood pressure may also affect your ability to think, remember and learn. Trouble with memory or understanding concepts is more common in people with high blood pressure.

The hypothetical link between high levels of total cholesterol and heart disease has NEVER been proven. It’s a diagnosis conjured up to serve drug companies who want to sell cholesterol-lowering statin drugs.

Cholesterol levels are a poor predictor of heart attacks. Only about 50% of heart attack victims have high cholesterol levels, and 50% of people who have high cholesterol do not have heart disease.

Recent studies suggest statin drugs are associated with a higher risk of diabetes, which is a major risk factor for heart disease.

It is common to be nervous try to face it too often so that you can get used to it don" nt go to doctor ommediately try to practice patience keep yourself calm if it really taking yourhealth consult any clinical psycologist for help before you see any doctor practice some yoga.

Dear lybrateuser, - Yes, any person who undergoes chronic stress & anxiety is prone to heart disease & a heart attack - also an unhealthy diet with more of fried, fatty, processed, junk food with sedentary habits is prone to heart attack, also drinking excess alcohol & tobacco contribute in a major way - have more of fruits & vegetables, less of fats & processed foods & do regular exercise , sleep well for 7-8 hrs in the night to keep your heart healthy.
