Tips to lose weight  faster: 1.Eat a high-protein breakfast. 2Avoid sugary drinks and fruit juice.  3.Drink water a half hour before meals. 4.Choose weight loss-friendly foods (more vegetables and fruits) 5.Eat soluble fiber. 6.Eat mostly whole, unprocessed foods.  7.Eat your food slowly. 8.sleep 7-8 hours 9.go for regular exercise Constitutional homoeopathic treatment will give you best results.

I am 55 year married male. Since last several years, after shower, my fingers and palm of both hands (front and back) becomes very dry and it shows white patches. After applying coconut oil/body lotion/etc, it matches the natural skin colour as patches are gone because of application of oil/lotion/etc. Also, my skin colour is very dark below my finger nails (till the end of fingers and knuckles) compared to rest of the skin. Pls suggest me some solution for this. Thanks.

You could be suffering from eczema. However, I can not confirm me without seeing the photos of the area. If you have eczema, it is important to take good care of your skin. Take warm (not hot!) baths on a regular basis and immediately applying moisturizers afterward will help keep your skin moist. •Moisturize every day. •Wear cotton or soft fabrics. Avoid rough, scratchy fibers and tight clothing. •Take lukewarm baths and showers, using mild soap or non-soap cleanser •Gently pat your skin dry with a soft towel – do not rub. •Apply a moisturizer within 3 minutes after bathing to “lock in” moisture. •When possible, avoid rapid changes of temperature and activities that make you sweat. •Learn your eczema triggers and avoid them. •Use a humidifier in dry or cold weather. •Keep your fingernails short to help keep scratching from breaking the skin. •Some people with allergies find it helps to remove carpets from their house, and give pets dander treatments.

I have swelling at the back of right ankle. It is small round, and extremely painful. I am unable to walk or even lift my leg. The pain is unbearable. When I slightly compress the area, it feels tremendously painful. As if I have great amount of weight tied to my leg. And when I try to walk, I feel as if something is pulling me down. My leg is very heavy and extremely painful. Please help. I can't bear the pain.

Dear Mr. lybrate-user, from what you have described, you appears to have what is called a Retro Calcaneal Bursitis and you need to consult an orthopedic Surgeon for Investigation and Diagnosis and treatment. In the mean time you please use loose shoes and have to the following-1. Physical therapy in the form of relaxation exercises of the ankle joint up and down few times each time before walking from rest position. 2.Heat therapy in the form of taking Luke warm Water in a bucket half and dip the foot and ankle and repeat the same exercises under water for 10-15 mts. 3. Use a Double heel shoe or chappal and consult an Orthopedic Surgeon.

Dear You should Have a Heamogram, sugar & urine Routine tests done before you start any treatment You can take multivitamin tablets & paracetamol tabs. Make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take. It could be due to cervical spondylosys.

•Downward dog yoga stretch •Get down on all fours with your hands under your shoulders on the floor. Walk your hands forward slightly on the floor. Spread your fingers apart to allow for a broad base of support. Push your hips up toward the ceiling and tighten your abdominal muscles. Keep your heels on the ground and gently try and straighten your knees. Repeat 10 times a twice a day.

Take a balanced diet high in protein &calcium, fluids. Include curd, lassi, buttermilk, channa, Ragi, soybean, safed til, almonds, dry dates, posto, leafy vegetables, egg, fish, chicken. Drink 3 litres water daily. Have saunf/ ajwain soaked water, coconut water, lemonade for acidity. Have lots of fruits & fruit juice. Eat small meals at 2-3 hrs intervals, avoid fried & junk foods, cold drinks, energy drinks, alcohol, tea & coffee.

Hi thanks for your query and welcome to lybrate. Actually pain at calf/leg region can be due to many reasons, commonly it is muscular in nature but it can also be due to tendons, nerves, blood vessels etc. My advise to you for initial 2-3 weeks will be: - ice packs application intensively with elevation of your limbs at night - take a short course of anti-inflammatory medication as per your body's suitability - stop your physical activity till pain completely subsides - intensive physical therapy, training and proper muscle conditioning once pain has subsided - slow resumption of physical activities with proper pre activity warm up and stretching of muscles and short increments in duration of physical activity each day as per pain tolerance. - we will get some blood tests for you - serum vitamin d and serum potassium levels, esr and crp once you have all these reports then you can contact me as I can advise you for proper supplementation do not hesitate to contact me if you need any further assistance. Rheumatoid arthritis is a self limiting disease. Acute phase can be managed with medicines. Physiotherapy helps in preventing contractures & deformities. Keep your moral up! any way take ibuprofen 200mg od & sos x 5days caldikind plus (mankind) 1tab odx10days you will need other supportive medicines also. Do knee exercises it may have to be further investigated make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take. Do ask for detailed treatment plan. Do not ignore. It could be beginning of a serious problem.

Lower Back Pain - Treatment And Care Procedure!

Back pain is a common source of pain, which can be acute, subacute or chronic in nature. Back pain is classified along the segments of the spine and can be divided into neck pain. middle back pain, lower-back pain or tailbone pain.

Lower back pain is a type of back pain, which affects the lower back portion of the body. It may occur from arthritis or due to sudden jerking during movement. Lower-back pain may cause serious discomfort and aching and may disable a person from moving about. It should be treated and cared for properly.

Here are several treatments and care procedures for lower-back pain:

  1. Take some rest: Most people who get lower-back pain get obsessed with it and end up getting MRI scans, x-rays done and take injections without recognizing the intensity of the pain. It is advised not to rush into the matter. A simple way to cure the pain is by resting. 90% of lower back pains resolve by themselves in 6 weeks and so you must give your back a break instead of taking medical action and give your back some to heal.
  2. Pills: Sometimes, a lower back pain can suddenly become severe. In this case, you should intake anti-inflammatory pills such as ibuprofen or naproxen. These pills will help you ease the pain. However, you should not take them for more than ten days at a stretch as continuous pill consumption can cause side effects.
  3. Hot & cold compress: Apply a bag of frozen peas or an ice pack to the affected area in your lower back for 48 hours after the pain appears. Every session should be about of 20 minutes and you should take several sessions each day. After two days, repeat the same procedure using a heat pad. The cooling procedure shuts down your blood capillaries, reducing the flow of blood to the affected area. The swelling is then eased. The heating, on the other hand, loosens tight muscles and helps to increase blood circulation.
  4. Replace your mattress: People who sleep on firm mattresses and cushions on their beds are at a higher risk of experiencing lower-back pain. If you sleep on a medium-firm mattress, your chances of getting lower-back pain are less. In case your mattress is sagging or is very old, you should replace it.
  5. Acupuncture: When your lower-back pain is very severe, you can take acupuncture injections, which provide efficient pain relief. The injections change the way your nerves react and inflammation gets reduced.

Lower-back pain is likely to cause great discomfort and trouble. You will be unable to carry out your daily chores because of the pain. Therefore, proper treatment and care are required for lower-back pain. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult an Orthopedist.

Hi, thanks for your query and welcome to lybrate. I am Dr. Akshay from fortis hospital, new delhi. You are very young to actually have persistent back pains. If you have localized back pain with no other symptoms like radiating leg pain, neurological symptoms like numbness, weakness, paresthesias etc and with no other associated constitutional symptoms like evening rise in temperature, loss of weight, excessive sweating at night etc, then you can start with following recommendations for initial period of 2-3 weeks: - to maintain proper posture of your back while working and sleeping - if pain is more then you can take a short course of an anti-inflammatory medication like tab etoshine or paracetamol or one which suits you - physical therapy initially under supervision of a trained physiotherapist and then to continue at home - adequate calcium & vitamin d intake if levels are low in body - ice packs can applied if your pain is acute, then hot fomentation can be done at home - analgesic spray for local application can be used and is easily available. - avoid lifting heavyweight/ acute forward bending in mornings etc we will observe you for next 2-3 weeks how you respond to this conservative management protocol. If you are not feeling better, then we will have to get some investigations like, dynamic x rays of lower back and few blood tests for evaluation. Hello take short wave diathermy at physiotherapy clinic for spasm and learn exercise for spine. Meanwhile take few precautions. 1) take hot water fomentation for 20 min. At every 3hrs. Interval. 2) do not lift heavy weights or twist your spine 3) do not wear high heals do not ignore your back pain and do reply for private consultation and detailed treatment plan. Best wishes.
