Again it I was same situation in 2016. Again I got medicines and recovered. Today, I am though the same. While feeling breathless. Usually it happened in even hours. I feel urge of dying when I was returning to room from the office. It seems a sudden outbursts. I recognized feeling stomach squeezing tight at times, burning sensation, and something moving in my body especially stomach (the feeling when ant moves on your body) I also had feet burning and burning sensation in my urine and seems a sex loss at times. Dear lybtateuser, - For your problem of GERD & anxiety along with the medication & even after stopping the medication you have to regularly follow some dietary precautions to prevent it in future: - chew your food well, avoid spicy, fried, sour & junk food, restrict intake of tea/ coffee to 1-2 cups per day, have snacks in between meals if you feel hungry, do not lye down for 1-2 hrs after meals, have dinner 2-3 hrs before bedtime - have 8-10 glasses of water for proper digestion & preventing burning sensation in urine - have a well balanced diet with more of fruits & vegetables including green leafy & seasonal ones.

Can Hypertension Affect Pregnancy?

Can Hypertension Affect Pregnancy?

Blood pressure is the thrust exerted by the blood against the artery walls or blood vessels. A certain count of blood pressure is necessary for blood circulation, but anything excessive may prove to be trouble. A reading above the count considered normal; 140/90 (mmHg) may induce symptoms, such as short breath, severe headaches, nosebleeds and anxiety.

Any sort of hypertension during pregnancy can take a toll on the baby.

1. Preeclampsia is a condition wherein, the blood pressure peeks high after 20 weeks of conception accompanied by traces of protein in urine and functional disorders in a few organs.

2. Hypertension might often result in the delivery of an underdeveloped (abnormally small size) baby.

3. High blood pressure might also give rise to a complication wherein, one might have to go for Caesarian section rather than a normal vaginal delivery.

4. The placenta detaches itself from the uterine wall much prior to the delivery.

5. Preeclampsia escalates one’s risks of suffering from heart disorders or other cardiovascular diseases.

6. It restricts the blood flow to the placenta (an organ nourishing the baby), thus cutting off adequate supply of oxygen and nutrients to the fetus.

Signs and symptoms:

1. Excessive protein content in urine

2. Impaired liver functioning

3. Low urine levels

4. Nausea or vomiting

5. Intense pain and tenderness in the upper abdomen

6. Problems in eyesight such as double vision or temporary loss of vision, light sensitivity and blurriness.

7. Abnormal swelling

8. Persistent and a severe headache

Treatment:

Medications do meddle with pregnancy. However, certain medications are considered safe to be used for keeping blood pressure levels under control. These include Angiotensin Converting Enzyme (ACE) inhibitors, Angiotensin Receptor Blockers (ARBs) and Renin Inhibitors. However, do consult a doctor to get your dosage administered accurately. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a doctor and ask a free question.

Heart Problems - How Ayurveda Can Help You Prevent it?

The modern age is full of tensions and stress, expecting peaceful mind and unhealthy lifestyle is just impossible. To prevent common diseases and living a healthy life requires keen knowledge of the main organ of the body, that is the Heart. The heart is a muscular organ which works like an engine and provides fuel to run human body by pumping blood. Our heart has two chambers which separates the oxygen rich blood from oxygen poor blood and each time you breathe the valves of heart opens and closes. There are many cardiovascular diseases that are caused due to the blood vessel and heart issues like lack of flexibility, blockage, fatty plaques of the arteries or lack of strength of the parties.

The modern medical systems suggest surgical treatment for the cure of the heart problems but on another hand, Ayurveda targets the deep root cause of the disease. The best cure for heart diseases is to adopt a holistic approach named Ayurveda the part of the great Indian heritage. This is not only based upon the ancient principle but many researchers worked and proofed that heart issues are reversible with the help of Ayurvedic treatment.

As Ayurveda believes in the natural ingredients for treatment, many remedies are available in our surrounding. Here are some commonly recommended remedies to prevent and cure heart diseases by Ayurveda.

  1. Triphala: To reduce the blood fat level and high cholesterol Triphala- the mixture of three herbs named Amalaki, Bibhitaki, and Haritaki. This handles the causative issues of blood fat and cholesterol and keeps the heart healthy.
  2. Ashwagandha: This is a wonder herb to reduce tension from mind and body and provide strength to the heart muscles.
  3. Chaywanprash: this is the mixture of various herbs like sugar, honey, ghee, Indian Gooseberry (amla), jam, sesame oil, berries, herbs and various spices. Chaywanprash is an herbal jam which strengthens the heart muscles and boosts up the immune system as well.

These three are the most common and easily available remedies for heart problems. Other than these three garlic, ginger, turmeric, saffron, arjuna, guggul, etc. herbs which are good for heart diseases and provides a complete cure. I would suggest consulting an expert Ayurvedic physician for the better results and proper guidance instant of trying self treatment.

Diastolic BP should be 80 or less. 85 is above normal. Body weight of 95kg is high; reducing body weight, avoiding fast foods with high fat content and regular exercise should bring down the BP to normal.

Exercising is very essential in the management of both deranged cholesterol and high BP. But instead of weight exercise, just keep it 40 mins of brisk walking or treadmill and if even after 4-6 weeks of this your levels do not become normal, u will need medicines. Eat healthy, avoid junk and high salty food

General Physician,
Morning reading BP 110/80 night reading 130/90 how to control it to 120/80 please give me useful information.
Dear lybrate-user, Normal Blood Pressure is between 100-140 and 60-90mmhg. The range of 110/90 and 130/80 falls in the normal range. Hence you don't need to worry about being hypertensive. Also, if you have a family history of Hypertension, then I advise you to keep a close follow-up in your BP and also diet modification with light exercise should be done accordingly. I hope your weight is in the normal range of the BMI. Hope this helps! Be healthy and be well.

Weight gain after quitting smoking does not increase the risk of heart disease

In a study published in Journal of American Association, researchers from Switzerland have shown that in non?diabetics, weight gain after quitting smoking does not take away the cardiovascular benefits of quitting smoking.

There is a net cardiovascular benefit of smoking cessation despite subsequent weight gain. Smoking cessation is always beneficial for smokers.

People gain 6 to 8 pounds of weight after quitting smoking. In the study, quitting smoking was also linked with a decreased risk of heart attack or cardiac death compared to smokers.

Doctors tell that all my arteries are blocked I need to do heart surgery I am afraid is there a remedy I have breaking problem also.

PGD Maternal Child Health, MBBS
General Physician, Akola
Doctors tell that all my arteries are blocked I need to do heart surgery I am afraid is there a remedy I have breakin...
If the block in the artery has been clearly demonstrated in investigation like coronary angiography and the extent of block is significant then angioplasty or bye pass surgery is indicated. If you are not having risk factors like diabetes, hypertension, the blocks are less than 50 percent of the coronary diameter and the plaques are calcified and stabilized then conservative medicinal management can be considered. You should seek advice from a cardiologist and decide.
