Dear lybrate user, a kidney stone is mainly formed due to the accumulation of the minerals present in urine. Such accumulation occurs mainly due to low intake of fluids. Continous low fluid intake results in the deposits of the minerals over the stone & eventually leads to an increase in the size of the stone. If the size of the kidney stone is below 3mm then it is possible to get rid of it without any surgery. Take homoeopathic mother tincture berberis vulgaris q, 30 drops, thrice daily, after meals, in a cup of water for 15 days. The stone will be expelled through urine in between the span of 15 days of medication. But as the size of the stone is more than 3mm, you should surely go for surgery.

Do you know lack of fluid intake is by large a major reason for kidney stones? Adequate care taken to maintain the desired level of water intake can help prevent the formation of stones.

We strongly believe not only health care but life care.

How to maintain the stones in the kidney. Generally all men's have stones but how to save yourself from unusual pain.

MBBS
General Physician,
How to maintain the stones in the kidney. Generally all men's have stones but how to save yourself from unusual pain.
Pain in renal stones occur mainly due to streching of renal capsule, local pressure effects and if in ureter its due to smooth muscle spasms. For pain you can have nsaids and smooth muscle relaxants like drotaverine. Now prevention of renal stones depend on type of stone. Also there are various diseases and drugs that can predispose to stone formation. A usg, complete metabolic panel and urine cytology and ph check up is needed in young aged patients. To prevent oxalate stones thats very commonly found you need to restrict oxalate rich foods like: peanuts, rhubarb, spinach, beets, chocolate and sweet potatoes. To prevent uric acid stones, cut down on high-purine foods such as red meat, organ meats, and shellfish, and follow a healthy diet that contains mostly vegetables and fruits, whole grains, and low fat dairy products. Limit sugar-sweetened foods and drinks, especially those that contain high fructose corn syrup. Limit alcohol because it can increase uric acid levels in the blood and avoid crash diets for the same reason. Eating less animal-based protein and eating more fruits and vegetables will help decrease urine acidity and this will help reduce the chance for stone formation. Take plenty of water also.

Dear lybrate user there are many reasons to change in the urine color, its quite fairy in the months of summer due to dehydration of body. Some vitamins like b complex and riboflavin supplements leads to yellow color urine and even food additives and dyes also bring change in the urine color. In order to control this take plenty of water to rehydrate your body and fresh fruit juices, ginger juice with lemon, tender coconut water, lime juice will help you.

Kidney Stones - How Ayurveda Helps in Treating it

Kidney Stones - How Ayurveda Helps in Treating it

Ayurveda is a holistic system of medicine that focuses on improving your overall well-being, rather than just focusing on the symptoms of the disease. Being a complete natural based method, it has no side effects. Ayurvedic remedies for kidney stones emphasize on improving your lifestyle and diet to keep the energy balance in your body.

The causes of kidney stones range from factors such as an imbalanced diet, sedentary lifestyle and spicy food. Less water consumption is also a major cause of kidney stones. These factors cause problems in the various doshas in the human body, leading to diseases. It leads to toxin formation in the body called ama. These toxins trickle down to the urinary tract, causing crystals to form, thus leading to kidney stones.

Ayurvedic remedies consist of using diuretic herbs to dissolve the stones. Once the stones are dissolved, it is then recommended to use various cleansing techniques such as Panchakarma, which helps in strengthening the body. It is recommended to drink at least 2 to 3 liters of water daily and urinate whenever the urge occurs.

If the bladder stores the urine for a long time, then it leads to kidney stones. You need to cut down on foods that contain salt in excess. Add more green vegetables to your diet as they provide the body with essential nutrients such as calcium.

A comprehensive list of the changes you should make are:
1. Avoid eating dry and heavy foods
2. Limit consumption of coffee, tea, pickle based foods and cold drinks
3. Restrict consumption of non-vegetarian foods such meat and poultry
4. Drink adequate water regularly
5. Consume parboiled rice, brown rice and ginger
6. Consume lots of fruit juices, soup and water
7. Increase water consumption during summer months
8. Don’t suppress the urge to urinate

Some herbal remedies to control kidney stones are combining “mehendi” with water to form a decoction and then consuming it. Increase consumption of horse-gram as it decreases risk of kidney stones. Make sure you exercise on a regular basis as it improves your overall well-being and keeps you healthy. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a ayurveda and ask a free question.

Dear Sir,
I have kidney stone in right kidney 5mm, 4mm & 3mm & left kidney 3mm & 1mm & my question is what I do now? ...
Hello. Homoeopathic medicines will help you in getting rid of kidney-stone, take it regularly. And follow the guidelines below: You may reduce your risk of kidney stones if you: Drink water throughout the day. For people with a history of kidney stones, drink 12-14 glasses of water everyday. If you live in a hot, dry climate or you exercise frequently, you may need to drink even more water to produce enough urine. If your urine is light and clear, you're likely drinking enough water. Eat fewer oxalate-rich foods. If you tend to form calcium oxalate stones, your doctor may recommend restricting foods rich in oxalates. These include rhubarb, beets, okra, spinach, Swiss chard, sweet potatoes, nuts, tea, chocolate and soy products. Choose a diet low in salt and animal protein. Reduce the amount of salt you eat and choose non animal protein sources, such as legumes. Consider using a salt substitute. Continue eating calcium-rich foods, but use caution with calcium supplements. Calcium in food doesn't have an effect on your risk of kidney stones. Continue eating calcium-rich foods unless your doctor advises otherwise. Ask your doctor before taking calcium supplements, as these have been linked to increased risk of kidney stones. You may reduce the risk by taking supplements with meals. Diets low in calcium can increase kidney stone formation in some people. Medication: Take homoeopathic medicine - Berberis Vulgaris Q/ 10 drops in 1/2 cup of water/ thrice daily for 4 weeks. Revert me back.
