Hi Sir, my daughter is one year old. She got one teeth on top and one in bottom. She has done back color at back side of upper teeth, it's not a hole. Pls let me know what should I have to use do. Is there any chance birth mole can be back side.

BDS
Dentist, Kolar
Considering the age of your daughter the black colour on the teeth could be nursing bottle caries which is frequent in toddlers. It happens wen the child takes prolonged feeds at night or sleeps while feeding which causes retaining of some milk in mouth leading to decay of back surface of teeth. It is advised to wipe clean the teeth with moist cloth after each feed to prevent decay. Visit a pedodontist for further evaluation n treatment. Take care.

Dear Doctor, I am 22 years old, my scalps are bleeding drastically. I had put clips for my tooth at the age of 16 they cleaned my teeth more than 10 timed during that period is that reduce the strength of my gums please help me with few remedies. How I can reduce my gum bleeding.

MDS - Orthodontics
Dentist,
Hello . I hope that you really don't bleed from you r scalp. Scalp in medical term refers to the skin and connective tissue covering your head. So o suppose you r bleeding from your gums. If that's the problem don't worry its treatable. Clips won't have bad effect on your teeth neither will cleaning. Make sure you keep your teeth clean and brush 2 times a day and use mouth was regularly. Visit your dentist and get a cleaning done.

I am a 30 year old male & I have 2 problem wright now 1. Bad smell is coming from my mouth. 2. Hydraucil without surgery, is there any natural treatment.

BDS
Dentist, Bangalore
Bad breath can be reduced or prevented if you: practice good oral hygiene. Brush twice a day with fluoride toothpaste to remove food debris and plaque. Don't forget to brush the tongue, too. Replace your toothbrush every 2 to 3 months or after an illness. Use floss or an interdental cleaner to remove food particles and plaque between teeth once a day. See your dentist regularly -- at least twice a year. He or she will conduct an oral exam and professional teeth cleaning and will be able to detect and treat periodontal disease, dry mouth, or other problems that may be the cause of bad mouth odor. Drink lots of water. This will keep your mouth moist. Chewing gum (preferably sugarless) stimulates the production of saliva, which helps wash away food particles and bacteria.

Do whitening toothpastes whiten teeth more than regular toothpastes and is it safe to microwave food in food plastic containers?

BDS
Dentist, Ghaziabad
Whitening toothpastes have more abrasive property along with little percentage of bleaching agent. They will not only abrade your enamel surface but can also cause sensitivity of your teeth. The colour of your dentition is the natural color given by God. It is the color of your dentin that reflects thru enamel. Secondly cooking food in microwave in normal plastic containers is not at all safe. Researches and studies shows incidence of cancer. Not only with microwave cooking but also normal plastic material when it comes in contact with the heat does some harmful chemical reaction that is said to be risky and contributing factor of cancer. I don't know how much the containers that r so to say microwave safe r good.

Brushing removes plaque and food particles from the inner , outer and biting surfaces of your teeth

Be gentle--rough brushing and worn toothbrushes can damage tooth enamel

To be contd..

Sir I have performed my root canal last six months so now it started swelling so kindly help me and let me know the reason abt it because i am afraid that I can lead to some other disease and I'm planning to extract on money so let me know that I should take medicine or not.

MDS Endodontist
Dentist, Pratapgarh
You should have got the crown, if you already have crown on your root canal treated teeth then that means its a bad root canal treatment. Get it retreated by an mds endodontist. No need for extraction. Your tooth can still be saved.

She was taken to a dentist. He took X-Ray and asked to undergo Flap surgery with bone enhancement. Is it necessary? Which dental hospital charges the least for this in Kakinada or Rajahmundry or Hyderabad.

MDS

For patients who have gum problems and bone loss, flap surgery is recommended based on x ray. Ccharges depend on whether it is performed by a specialist, manually or with a high end laser and depending on the material used.

Aftercare for Dental Implants

Dental implants need to be maintained carefully after surgery and for that you got to follow a few essential caring tips.

Best caring tips after dental implants:

  1. Maintaining a healthy diet: Healthy diet needs to be maintained and in this case, only nutritious and soft foods are to be included.
  2. Careful brushing: Only soft bristle brush needs to be used in this regard and do not pressurize the treated areas. In this case, tenderness needs to be considered so that brushing can be conducted carefully without injuring or hurting implants.
  3. Avoid smoking: You are not allowed to continue  smoking after implants, as that can make the situation complicated, as a result, of which you might even experience dreadful consequences. You should follow different steps to completely curtail the smoking habit from your lifestyle.
  4. Scheduling appointments: You should meet your dentist on a frequent basis in order to make sure that everything is perfect. You can also visit your dentist in times of emergencies when you are facing tremendous pain or bleeding.
  5. Maintaining oral hygiene: Oral hygiene is the most important thing, and this is the reason you are advised to use any special mouthwash or any other flossing solution. This step needs to be continued for preventing the growth of unwanted infectious elements as that can ruin the implants completely. You should also carefully brush your teeth without affecting the implanted area.
  6. Avoid cold or hot drinks and foods: You should not take excessively hot or chilled items immediately after dental implants as that might create an adverse situation. This is a strict instruction which is usually given to the patients by their dentists so that implants can be protected and can be maintained in the long run.
  7. Apply ice pack: If you want to get rid of unwanted swelling and inflammation, immediately after dental implants, then nothing can be the best than homemade therapy, other than using ice packs. You should keep the ice packs just over the swollen art directly, and you can even try out this therapy multiple times in a day and will get relief instantly.
  8. Taking painkillers: If the implanted area has swollen up, and it is paining badly, then you should try useful painkillers, but the medicines should be prescribed by your dentist. But do not take these medicines on a frequent basis rather take them only when the pain is severe.
