For first 48 hours of injury do ice massage, for minimum movement of foot you can use crape bandage & tie it firmly, do not put pressure or body weight on your injured foot. After 48 hours do hot fomentation & isotonic exercises gradually move towards the isometric, partial weight and then to full weight bearing position. Don't do exercises if your foot have pain, swelling or discoloration of your foot. In that case consult orthopedic.

Avoid strain do rest. Tk heat fermentation and apply pain relief ointment. Sit straight maintain your posture. Avoid long sitting and toward bending. Avoid all exercise at time. If feel better then ok otherwise tk physiotherapy treatment for few days after relief start stretching exercise of spine and legs.

Apply Hot Fomentation twice daily. Avoid bending in front. Postural Correction- Sit Tall, Walk Tall. Extension Exercises x 15 times x twice daily - lying on tummy, take left arm up for 3 seconds, then bring it down, right arm up for 3 seconds, bring down. Bring right leg up, hold for 3 seconds, bring it down. Then right leg up and hold for 3 seconds and bring it down. Repeat twice a day- 10 times. Bhujang Asana – Lie flat on your stomach, keeping the palms out, bend the neck backward, take a deep breath and while holding it for 6 seconds, raise the chest up. Release breath and relax your body. Repeat the exercise 15 times twice daily. Core Strengthening Exercises- Straight Leg Raised With Toes Turned Outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day. Back Stretching- lie flat, pull one of the knee forward to chest, hold for 3 seconds, then bring the other knee forward to the chest and again hold for 3 seconds. Then pull both knees towards the chest and hold for 3 seconds. Repeat 10 times each exercise twice a day. Do the cat/cow stretch. Get on all fours, with your arms straight and your hands directly under your shoulders; your knees hip-width apart.

Sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. SPRING BEDS, FOLDING BEDS OR THICK MATRESS ARE HARMFUL Use no pillow under the head. DO HOT FOMANTATION. Paracetamol 250mg OD & SOS x 5days. Caldikind plus 1tab OD x10. Do neck, back & general exercises. It may have to be further investigated. You will need other supportive medicines also. Make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take. If it does not give relief in 4-5days, contact me again.. Do not ignore .It could be beginning of a serious problem.

I am 60 years old. I am regular at gym for more than 10 years and do cardio every day for about an hour. Of late I am having pain in both my knee caps and also lower back (on the left hip). What do I do. Do I have to stop my regular tread mill exercise then what is the alternative.

Alternative to treadmill is walking on sandy or soft surface. Cycling is another option which avoids weight on knees. Swimming is also good exercise.

Hello doctor, I was having viral fever with arthritis last month but still I have pain in my joint specially in legs and waist. I am also taking medicine i. E Indocap S. R, Anleo-DSR and Z3 Plus. Hi Sir/Madam I am suffering back muscle spasm since 3 months, pain remains constant, consulted 2 orthopaedic doctors in 3 months time span. I did mri too it shows that its in L4 L5 backside. I am on medicines since 2 months however no good results opted out First month I ate Lorsaid, Myoril, Control DSR Then afterwards I had Gemcal, Sunbless, Z4G and Nervpas. Could you please suggest what should be done to cure this spasm.

This is a general low back ache and for this you can follow these measures: one keep a pillow right under the knee while sleeping, next is you can keep ice in the painful area for about 5--10 minutes, if pain still persists you can stretch your body by twisting the waist on both sides how we used to do in the school drill similarly you can try which will help you relax as well will reduce the pain. It looks like you are anaemic. If you have back pain after you sit for long hours then it is due to your haemoglobin levels as it is important to check that. Anaemia always leads to the symptoms of being tired and also having back / leg pain though there may not be any pathological reasons for back pain. Back pain / Sciatica: If you have low back pain and sciatica you can undergo intermittent pelvic traction where in your half of your body weight will be added in the electronic traction so that that would help you to reduce the pain, along with Interferential therapy stimulations which would help you to get relieved from the radiating pain. Apply ice for the pain to get subsided immediately. If you cannot go immediately for the physiotherapy treatment. Ice can be kept in the low back where you have back pain. It is suggestible to wear Lumbo sacral belt which would help you to build the abdominal muscle tone which itself would make you feel better. You can also wear MCR chappals which would help you to have less weigh.

Sir. I started medication in the second week of April and checked for the first time on 19th June. Tsh level-2.50.t3-1.03 and t4-11.64.my rbs level was 96. I am having a height 150 cm and weight 64 kg. I started walking 45 minutes in the morning. Ortho surgeon said that I have swelling on my shoulder muscle. Is weight gain a side effect? How long should I have to take medicines. I am married and planning for a baby. Will it be risky? Thank you.

lybrate-user Thanks for the query. Hypothyroidism is a hormone deficiency disease, where thyroid gland produces either less or almost nil thyroxine. This is an essential hormone for all the metabolic function in the body. When deficient it has to be supplemented daily for the whole lifetime. Hence the treatment is for lifetime. The levels mentioned are fairly normal. Same levels need to be maintained if you want to remain free from the symptoms. Plus looking at your weight and height it is clear that with a BMI of 28.44 kgs/M2, you are considerably over weight. (normal BMI < 23 kgs/M2). Therefore, you need to exercise and also take restricted food intake. Further if you are planning for a conception, then TSH has to be maintained around 2 mU/L. Otherwise efforts to concieve may not succeed. Also check your PP glucose level. If you have any doubts please do come back. Thanks.

Before 2 or 3 days. My brother bit me on the upper arm in a playful manner but really hard. From then on. Till now i've been having pain there. I'll feel it only when it comes in contact with something. The skin is totally normal but the pain is on the inside. Yesterday on. The pain extended a little to the right of the arm. But today. The pain is better when compared to before but is still paining. The inside of the pain site seems hard but I don't know whether it's my triceps or something else.
