As in diabetes some times because of sugar weight goes up and down so for weight gain have more or fiber and protien as you r diabetic please take methi seek soaked overnight with 1 glass of water in early morning and take twice a fruit (apple, guava, orange, kiwi,) take vegatables like spinach, methi, dudhi cabbage avoid potato and sweet potato take milk once at bed time.

Hi apply pranacharya restopain oil or prasarini oil on your affected part then give hot fomentation. Take maha rasnadi kwath 2-2 tsf twice a day. And agni tundi vati and maha yograj guggul 1-1 tab twice a day.

Advice. Avoid sitting cross legged. Avoid squatting- quadriceps exercises- lie straight, make a towel role and put it under the knee, press the keen against the role, hold it for 20 secs. Repeat 20 times twice a day. This will help relieve some pain. Core strengthening exercise- straight leg raised with toes turned outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day. Hams stretching- lie straight, take the leg up, pull the feet towards yourself, with a elastic tube or normal belt. Repeat 10 times, twice a day. Sports taping- stretch the tape from both ends and apply on the affected area contrast fomentation (hot and cold).

The first thing you have to do is to develop a positive attitude towards your goal. You need to understand that transforming your physique is going to take a lot of time. These things don't work that easily. It's going to take a lot of hard work and consistency 1. Start exercising. Start working out if you are not active. Begin with body weight exercises like push up, pull up and squats. Weight training proves to be really helpful if you want to gain good quality weight. Train each body part twice a week. For example: Monday/Thursday: Chest + Triceps Tuesday/Friday: Back + Biceps Wednesday/Saturday: Legs + Shoulders Don't forget to warm up for at least 10 - 15 minutes. Warm up includes jumping, rope skipping, treadmill, cycling, stair climbing, etc. 2. Eat Healthy. Stop drinking and smoking too much if you are indulged in it. Limit your intake of junk food and any form of sugar. Do not at all starve yourself. Make it a habit to eat something healthy every 2 - 3 hours. Some of the recommended food items are boiled chicken and eggs, brown rice, brown bread, peanut butter, olive oil (extra virgin), green tea, dry fruits etc. 3. Consume good amount of fruits and vegetables. Bananas, apples, pomegranate, green leafy vegetables. Fruits and vegetables helps in absorption of food in the body and together, completes your daily nutrition need. 4. Eat whole grains. Try to have multi grains spread throughout the day. Wheat, brown rice, oats are best sources of healthy carbohydrates but do not include these items in your dinner. 5. Increase protein intake. Protein proves to be the most essential nutrient when it comes down to gaining strength or building muscle. Therefore, consume all types of protein from both veg and non veg food items. Boiled chicken and eggs are the best sources of fat free protein. Sprouts are also rich in protein. Your Daily food intake should ideally consist of – a. Have plenty of nuts, dry fuits and seeds. Almonds, walnuts, sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, figs, dates and raisins. They are full of healthy fats needed by a human body. B. Good amount of fruits and vegetables – Bananas, apples, pomegranate, green leafy vegetables. Fruits and vegetables helps in absorption of food in the body and together, completes your daily nutrition need. C. If you are a non- vegetarian - Eat eggs, chicken etc. D. Eat whole grains – Try to have multi grains spread throughout the day. Wheat, brown rice, oats, bajra, daliya etc should be taken in multiple meals in a day. E. Eat Sprouts – Chana and moong which are full of protein and nutrients. F. You can supplement your diet with good quality multi-vitamin capsules. If you are lacking in protein, you can buy a high quality whey protein and have it with banana shake twice a day. G. You can take natural food items like wheat grass which is full of essential nutrients which helps in weight gain.

Dear sir, I am diabetic in April I check my HbA1c was 7.5, I was taking 750 mg of glyciphage so my Doctor advised to take 500 mg glyciphage 2 times after half hour taking food (ie, 1000 mg), after exactly in July last month my HbA1c showing 9.0, what will be the reason, is any thing went wrong with the laboratory where I am testing , is this possible to shoot from 7.5 to 9.0 in a matter of 3 months. Kindly advise. I am on a tour for a month in Gulf, once I back will check again, I am very careful about my diet , never take sugar or sugar items, will go for gym for half hour without fail every day, thanks

Mr. Lybrate-user, it appears that only metformin is not enough in controlling your diabetes, that is the reason hba1c has gone up. You need to add some more drugs to the treatment for better control of blood glucose. Another aspect your weight is high and bmi is 27.77 kgs/m2, (normal <23 kgs/m2). That also contributes to increased blood blood glucose level. There is an urgent need to add a new drug. If you are willing to do that, then please come in a private conversation with current blood sugar details (fasting and pp). Then I can advise. Or else if you want to weight till your return then my suggestion is exercise more vigorously daily, increase dose of metformin to 1500 mg to 2000 mg daily, tisll you return. Thanks.

There is in ayurveda mention pinda swed. It is a type of swedan karma [phomentation] but it do some another manner. 1. Boiled a rice in milk then take this rice in one white cloth then tied it properly and warmly it rub on your face every morning for 15 days then stop it and do next month again 2. Apply almond oil on your face and massage for 3-5 min at night. By doing above thing you will get good result.

Yes U are over weight by 20 Kg or so .You need to do lot of efforts by not starve your body but by change in life style .Dinner only by healthy nourishing soups one time in the evening instead of heavy dinners ,Plus orally some HCA preps /antioxidants /Vitamins /Minerals .ask for details.

Hello, Stay motivated and be content with whatever you lose at the end of 3 months. It is surely a permanent change which you need to bring about in your lifestyle and dietary habits. Start exercising regularly, atleast 5 times, a week. Eat homecooked meals with minimal oil, sugar and salt usage. Say no to alcohol, junk, smoking, bakery products. Be patient and work hard.

Hye. Thank you for your query. You can try to concentrate on eating right and adding these exercises to your daily routine. Move 1: seated pillow squeeze (works on inner thighs) sit on a sturdy chair (one without wheels). Rest your feet on the floor with your knees bent at 90-degree angles. Place a pillow between yourthighs. Exhale as you squeeze the pillow between your thighs, as if you were trying to squeeze the stuffing out of the pillow. Hold for 1 minute as you breathe normally. Release and proceed to move 2. Move 2: seated hand push (works outer thighs and hips) sit on a sturdy chair. Rest your feet on the floor with your knees bent at 90-degree angles. Place your palms on the outsides of your knees. While keeping your palms and arms stationary, push your knees outward against your palms, as if you were trying to push your palms away. At the same time, press inward with your hands, preventing your thighsfrom pushing them outward. Hold this isometric contraction for 1 minute, breathing normally. Release and proceed to move 3. Move 3: seated leg raise (works fronts of the thighs) sit on a sturdy chair. Rest your feet on the floor with your knees bent at 90-degree angles. Rest your hands on the chair at your sides. Exhale as you lift and extend your right leg. Hold for 30 seconds as you breathe normally. Then inhale as you lower your right leg and exhale as you repeat with your left leg. Hold for 30 seconds while breathing normally. Release and proceed to move 4. Move 4: seated bridge (works the backs of the thigh and rear end) sit on the edge of a sturdy chair. Rest your feet on the floor with your knees bent at 90-degree angles. Rest your palms on the chair at your sides. Exhale as you lift your hips, allowing your palms and feet to support your body weight. Continue to lift your hips until your body resembles the shape of a bridge. Hold for 20 to 60 seconds while breathing normally. Release and return to move 1. Repeat moves 1-4 once more, and you're done.

Hi lybrate-user, these methods can help alleviate the symptoms of stress and anxiety, especially if used in conjunction with traditional methods, and are helpful tools to have in your box, next time you're feeling overwhelmed. 1. Circuit breaker - Get your mind off the problem, it's not going anywhere, but you can. Take the dog for a mini walk. Revisit your funniest emails. Take yourself to a yoga or Pilates class. Meditate. Listen to your favourite song. Google a beach in Tahiti. Make your self a cup of herbal tea. 2. Avoid caffeine - Caffeine is a stimulant that increases adrenaline in the body, the very hormone you are looking to reduce. Avoid coffee (decaf is OK), colas, guarana, chocolate, and more than 2 cups of tea daily. 3. Eat small meals often - Maintaining steady blood sugar levels is key to stabilizing mood. Ensure you have a small meal every 2-3 hours that contains protein. For example, a hard-boiled egg and lettuce, some almonds, a can of tuna and brown rice. 4. Breathe - The more anxious you become, breathing becomes shallower and higher in the chest. Consciously lengthen your breath, breathing deeper into the belly. Count to three on the in-breath, and four on the out-breath. 5. Talk to yourself - Affirmations are positive, self-affirming messages to self. In the case of anxiety, calming and positive is required. Try "All will be well" or "I always cope, just breathe and relax" 6. Tell someone who cares - Phone your mum or a friend. Acknowledging you are finding a situation stressful, and being heard and understood by someone who cares for you, even if they can't physically help, will reduce stress levels. 7. Cocooning - In the moment you feel totally overwhelmed, gently place both palms side by side on your face, fingers gently resting on your closed eyelids. This can help centre you, give you a momentary break and quieten the mind, until you feel more centred and ready to face the world again. 8. Seek help - If anxiety and stress has become a significant part your life, seek help from a psychologist or counselor, stress is their specialty. You don't have to do this on your own - remember, it's a sign of strength, not weakness, to seek help. Hope this helps, Good Luck.
