Normally our body should get 8 hours of sleep and your gas problem is food based - so see what is creating it and try to avoid in future.

My wife age 42 years suffering from problem in respiration properly in some specific conditions. In high temperature and some times in tension she feels she can not breath properly and she can not breath with nostrils, she feels uneasy in this situation. What can be the problem. She also get up in a shock while in deep sleep if any body disturbs her sleep and cry in a very hostile manner. In a few seconds she get normal. We consult a neurologist but he say this is not a problem. Please guide what can be the problem. Is it heart related problem?

42 is perimenopausal time, means a few years before and after the periods stop at age ranging from 40-50 but women do live a healthy life till 100+with age related problems only. During this phase called menopausal syndrome the woman may suffer from either of these 5 symptoms / few of symptoms / none of symptoms. 1) periods stop & reproductive hormones decline and she is more prone to heart attacks 2) osteoporotic bones, hollow bones with less calcium 3) depression and empty nest syndrome as her own children are either married or leading their own lives and she feels unwanted 4) organs sag like skin shows some wrinkles, there is tendency to have urinary symptoms as bladder has less power in its muscles to retain urine for longer hours. 5) tendency to put on weight @ at least 1/2 kg per year. The woman can keep busy with her own hobbies and skills, she can continue to exercise & be careful about diet. Take supplements of calcium and vitamin d & multivitamins. Eat lots of fresh seasonal vegetables and fruits according to her constitution, drink toned milk & curds & reduce salt, sugar & fats. Get her checked for heart and bllod tested for lipids & sugar. Good to know that your own doctor has declared her as normal. Reassure her and this passing phase will be over soon.

Avoid outside spicy and fried food. Walk about 3-5 kms daily. There should be gap of 2hrs after dinner and sleep. Small and frequent meals is of help chew your food properly at time of lunch and dinner. Keep your blood sugar controlled. Raise your bed about 4" from headend side. Get your gastroendoscopy done. Tab nexpro-l 1 tab empty stomach.

To maintain a low body fat and/or lower body fat: 1. Exercise at least 5 times per week 2. Eat whole/unprocessed foods at regular intervals, while being aware of physical hunger/fullness cues 3. Sleep 7-9 hours per night 4. Don’t engage in extreme diets 5. Stay consistent with your habits 6. Incorporate non-exercise physical activity 7. Ignore food advertising You need a fat loss diet which comprises of whole grains like jowar, bajra, wheat, brown rice, pulses like moong, musoor, bengal gram, lots of vegetables, fruits, eggs, fish, chicken, paneer, healthy oil, nuts and seeds. You need to eat them in right proportion. Avoid eating sugar and sweets, refined foods like maida, noodles pasta, White rice and products, bread. Drink a lot of water.

Don’t follow a diet regime, your friend has followed to lose weight. You have your own Body Frame, Basal Metabolic Rate, Genetic Factor, Body Measurements, Body Composition, diet pattern and lifestyle. Your dietary modifications and rate of weight loss will be based on these factors. So, get a personalised diet planned which is going to work exclusively for you.

Portion Control:
Look at you plate/bowl size while eating. To achieve the target, one should eat small frequent meals instead of 2 big meals. Meals should be balanced comprising carbohydrates, proteins, fats, vitamins, minerals and not to forget fluids in required amount. Intelligently planned 3 main meals and 3 small meals according to your lifestyle is going to help you.

Be Active:
A personalised exercise schedule under the guidance of qualified trainer is required to shed those extra kilos. I am 25 years of age I accidentally checked my blood pressure for fun and it is coming 144 by 95.
You do not need to worry much about it. Maintain healthy lifestyle which means doing regular physical exercise, morning walk for at least 30 mins for at least 4 days a week. You can join gym also. Avoid stress. While having meal, restrict amount of carbohydrates (rice, sugar, mangoes, banana) and fat (oils, butter, mutton) and take plenty of green leafy vegetables. Do check your blood pressure after 2 months. Wish you good health.

Follow these important tips to get fair colour of skin * avoid to go in strong sunlight and if you have to go in sunlight then cover your face & exposed parts of body before going in sunlight. * Use sunscreen having SPF 15 on face especially in summer and spring season. * Take vitamin -E rich foods like dry fruits, egg and fish as you like. You can take cord liver oil capsule daily. * Take more anti oxidant foods like fruits (Apple, grapes, melon) and citrus fruits. * Make paste of Papaya and apply this paste on face & exposed body parts and leave it for 15 minutes. It brightens the skin and lower melanin content. For fair skin: • Apply one teaspoon Besan with one teaspoon of curd and a pinch of haldi (turmeric) mix it with water then apply for 15 minutes then rinse off it with water Once a week. • Drink 2-3 liters of water everyday to get hydrated & glowing skin. • Mash half banana mix it with 1/2 teaspoon of lemon juice and half teaspoon of sandalwood powder mix it well and make smooth paste apply it for 10 minutes then rinse off with water.

You can lose weight easily if you are patient and determined to shed those extra kilos. You just have to alter your daily routine, watch what you eat and be physically active. This requires you to be on your weight loss commitment for quiet long. For a start please follow: 1.Cut down the excess carbs. If you want to lose weight you should start by avoiding sugar and starch (like bread). A low carb diet reduces your hunger and makes it easier to eat less. And it might even increase your fat burning at rest. 2.Don’t skip meals. Skipping meals will not make you lose weight faster. That strategy backfires because your body thinks food is in short supply, so it slows your metabolism in order to conserve energy. Over time, the result is that when you do eat — even if you consume the same foods as always — your body will be slower to use the calories as fuel, thus creating a backlog of unwanted pounds. 3.Stay hydrated. You've heard it before, and you'll hear it again. That's because drinking 64 ounces of water daily is one of the easiest ways to speed up weight loss. Your body needs water in order to efficiently metabolize stored fat. When you shortchange your supply, you're likely to slow down that process, meaning it's more difficult for you to burn calories. An easy eight glasses a day (at least!) will keep your system running smoothly. 4.Start exercising. Strength training builds lean muscle tissue, which burns more calories — at work or at rest — 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The more lean muscle you have, the faster you'll slim down. How do you start strength training? Try some push-ups or a few squats or lunges. Use your free weights to perform simple biceps curls or triceps pulls right in your home or office. Do these exercises three to four times per week, and you'll soon see a rapid improvement in your physique. 5.Go for an evening walk. An evening activity may be particularly beneficial because many people's metabolism slows down toward the end of the day. Thirty minutes of aerobic activity before dinner increases your metabolic rate and may keep it elevated for another two or three hours, even after you've stopped moving. What that means for you: Those dinner calories have less of a chance to take up permanent residence on your hips. 6.Take adequate rest. You should also make an effort to get enough good sleep, preferably every night. Strive to wake up refreshed of your own accord, independently of the alarm clock. If you’re the kind of person who always gets brutally woken up by the alarm ringing, you might never be giving your body adequate rest. 7.Supplement vitamins and minerals. Nutrient-dense, good food is certainly the foundation of weight loss. But an adequate amount of vitamin D can be difficult to ingest via food. In the case of a lack of sun (such as during the darker months of autumn and winter), it’s wise to supplement for multiple health reasons – and perhaps even for your weight.
