Hi sir, I am 19 years old and I am in depression, I want to do suicide and thinking about it whole day but I can't, I gave my personal money to my friend but he didn't return me, its a big amount, my family don't know about it, if he will know, then he will beat me my last breathe. What should I do now.

Hi sir, I am 19 years old and I am in depression, I want to do suicide and thinking about it whole day but I can't, I...
Surely this amount of money is not worth troubling yourself to death. Your parents will never hurt you to this extent. It is just your imagination running wild when you are afraid. Suicide is not solution and I cannot imagine that this money is worth dying for. Life is too precious and you must act in a responsible manner to sort out this situation. I recommend that you approach the boy's parents first and if they do not oblige, make a police complaint. The police will help you even if you do not have enough proof. Instead of contemplating death, do something brave and sensible and recover your money, which I am sure is hard earned.

Hi , the tuberculosis symptoms should usually subside in 6 weeks and you should start gaining weight. Please have daily 1800 kcal diet and follow up on your body weight every 15 days and make sure it is increasing. It is important to know where was the tb lesion on your ct scan and if required it is to be followed up. You should also get liver function test done. If there is no improvement in symptoms after taking treatment then please discuss with your doctor regarding the possibility of drug resistant tb and this might require change in medicines. Regards,

I hav bn suffering frm sinusitis since last 20 yrs, is dere any medicine which can completely free me frm this stupid sinusitis?

MS - ENT,MBBS
Ear-Nose-Throat (ENT) Specialist, Kolkata
Hi if you have been suffering  from 6 years it's likely you have chronic sinusitis  which may also be allergic . Get a CT PNS done. Or if you have one  done share the CT /Xray Long term lifestyle  changes with gradually tapering medication  helps to tackle chronic sinus problems.  Start taking Steam inhalation twice a day. *For chronic sinusitis you will need to take a long term course of antibiotics  together  with Nasal sprays . *You will need to avoid dusty environment  and dust mites, animal dander etc. Medical  management  is done for 3 months and then your condition is reviewed.  Intermittent treatment is not beneficial  in the long run. Chronic sinusitis is a condition  that develops due to persistent  infection or allergy in your sinuses. We need to improve the drainage of the sinus cavity by steam inhalation  .Medicines like Monteleukast with levocetirizine  help to decrease the tissue response to dust and allergy. They help in decreasing the inflammatory  changes due to allergic stimuli. Togerher with this the nasal sprays will help improve locally the Nasal  blockage. A disciplined medical therapy will help you live better. But incomplete treatment leads to polyps, Pansinusitus, complications  and poor quality of life. Investigations : CTPNS CBC with ESR &AEC PPBS FT3/FT4/TSH These tests will help us have an idea about your general immune status and check for any problems you may have. Treatment : Start Steam inhalation  (mandatory  )twice a day &Start have plenty of fruits and vegetables  in your diet. A course of vitamin B complex and C (no harm in continuing this if you can't have a balanced diet due to any reason) Add a probiotic supplement to your regular meals. Have sleep for atleast 7 to 8 hours. Exercise atleast for 30 minutes  every day. If you work in dusty environment   wear a mask. Air conditioned rooms the air filters should be ideally washed every week. The dust trappers in AC UNIT spread the germs very rapidly. If you are unable to ensure regular cleaning of AIR conditioners atleast try not to sit directly in front  of them. While working in the computer try to tilt  the screen to avoid glare .Take 5 min break every half an hour. Drink Plenty of water. Avoid smoking and secondary smoke. You can share your reports on Lybrate (no charge )as you get them done. Review with me after 10 days of Antibiotic and I will start you on long term medicines. Kindly also let me know any other medical  issues you may have. Kindly let me know about your workplace and living environment  (Air pollution level, general cleanliness. Then I can help you even more Unfortunately Lybrate doesn't allow prescription of medicines in open forum CT PNS and nasal endoscopy+your symptoms helps us decide surgical course of treatment.

How to solve my sinus problem. Please help.

Certified Diabetes Educator, Registered Dietitian (RD), PGDD, Bachelor of Unani Medicine and Surgery (B.U.M.S), General Physician
Dietitian/Nutritionist,
Do you have pain on cheek bones on pressing it? hot fomentation is really helpful in sinus besides drink fluids, such as water or juice. This will help dilute mucous secretions and promote drainage. Avoid beverages that contain caffeine or alcohol, as they can be dehydrating. Drinking alcohol can also worsen the swelling of the lining of the sinuses and nose. Moisturize your sinus cavities. Drape a towel over your head as you breathe in the vapor from a bowl of medium-hot water. Keep the vapor directed toward your face. Or take a hot shower, breathing in the warm, moist air. This will help ease pain and help mucus drain. Apply warm compresses to your face. Place warm, damp towels around your nose, cheeks and eyes to ease facial pain. Rinse out your nasal passages. Use a specially designed squeeze bottle (sinus rinse, others), saline canister or neti pot to rinse your nasal passages. This home remedy, called nasal lavage, can help clear your sinuses. If you make your own rinse, use water that's contaminant-free distilled, sterile, previously boiled and cooled, or filtered using a filter with an absolute pore size of 1 micron or smaller to make up the irrigation solution. Also be sure to rinse the irrigation device after each use with contaminant-free water, and leave open to air-dry. Sleep with your head elevated. This will help your sinuses drain, reducing congestion. Do reply back for medication prescriptions. Being also a general physician and registered dietitian, I prescribe both evidence based herbal as well as allopathic medicines complementing with dietary guidelines and home remedies carefully personalized for each individual patient.
