Hello sir, I have been noticing pain in my left chest for some months. I used to smoke cigarettes but I quit 2 years ago. The pain is not sharp but some times randomly I get the pain. I'm worried that it could be a symptom of cancer.

Having a high blood pressure will have no affect on your blood/urine test reports. Infact Blood reports like like profile (Cholesterol) are needed only to assess you further for any additional risks apart from Blood pressure. All you need to understand is this- Blood pressure is not a disease - its a tendency. Having high blood pressure exposes your body organs and internal coverings of your blood channels (arteries) to high turbulence of circulation. This effects them to undergo damage with lots of wear and tear. Hence the only objective you have is to keep your blood pressure under control. You can do this by two things - NO. 1 Cut down salt in your diet to as low as possible! NO. 2 Listen to your doctor’s advice for medicine! That’s all!

I'm underweight, my age- 28, height- 169 cm, weight-48, whenever I'm happy, my weight is increased , while my weight is increased, I'm becoming anxious whether I would get affected by cardiac arrest since hearing a few days ago the news that my friend's father died of heart attack. I have pain in left side of my heart. And doctor said me it is the problem of vai. N I feel that it is the prblm of attack. So please suggest me?

vai means gas , we cannot ignore your problem of pain on left side of heart ( you mean chest ?) Get a basic cardiac profile done like lipid profile , ECG. Echo and blood sugar and take care about your diet , stop eating the food that causes gas , Every human is aware of his/her constitution , some of my patients get gas with moong daal !

I am having serious stomach ache for quite sometime now. It happens randomly. I feel extremely sharp pain and along with that a pain in my chest. It goes away after a couple minutes of resting. I have a habit of eating fast food. I don't know if that's the reason or if it's symptom for something serious.

For your age pain chest could be due to anxiety and stress. Avoid stress. do regular exercise, Yoga, Meditation, deep breathing exercise like pranayama etc. It will calm your mind. Take paracetamol 500mg one tablet sos after food, drink plenty of water and take rest. if you have recurrent attack of chest pain take ECG and consult doctor

What are the reasons for increment in heart diseases day by day and how to manage them?

1. Avoid stress, anxiety, physical and mental strain 2. Reduce your weight if over weight, control bp, control cholesterol, control diabetes 3. Go for regular exercise 4. Control your diet. Take diet low in salt, cholesterol and saturated fat. Avoid red meat, sugar, high fat diary product, spicy, oily, junk, fried and processed food. Take plenty of green leafy vegetables, fruits, whole grain food 5. Drink plenty of water (6-8 glasses of water daily). 6. Take adequate rest. 7-8 hours of sleep is required to remain healthy 7. Practice yoga, meditation and deep breathing exercise like pranayama to calm your mind, control your emotion and relieve stress 8. Stop smoking, alcohol and tobacco intake 9. Avoid sedentary life style.

My heart beats around 80-85 per minute even at resting position and I also feel hardness near my heart and little pain too. Is it sign of any heart disease or it can be due to acidity or gastric problem? I have this problem for 2.5 years. Some time a feel very strong heart beats for just 5-6 seconds.

Dear Lybrateuser, - The normal heart rate is between 60-100 beats / min, yours is in normal range - your problem could be due to acidity & anxiety - avoid spicy, fried & junk food, also restrict tea, coffee to 1-2 cups per day - chew food well, have 4-5 small meals rather than three large meals, do not skip meals, have meals on time - destress by doing regular exercise, include yoga, meditation & deep breathing for 5-10 min daily morning - sleep well for 7-8 hrs at night.

Dear , from cad I assume you are referring to coronary artery disease or ischemic heart disease. You must be on asprin or clopidogrel and cholesterol reducing agent. How was the condition diagnosed whether it was through a treadmill stress test or has an angiography performed. I feel every 10 years after a confirmed diagnosis it is advisable to go with a coronary angiography to understand the health of the vasculature. Proper diet, planned exercise as per your cardiologists advise (heavy exercise is sometimes avoided but a brisk walk helps developing collateral circulation) will help you manage the heart disease. Avoid high fatty fried food and alcohol as it normally increases the triglycerides and other bad cholesterol. Best of luck for more advice I need to know your reports well. Best of luck.

It is a difficult task to control blood sugar in the desired normal range. Whatever we eat is metabolised to sugar in the body to provide energy for our daily activities. For the absolute control, one has to monitor his / her blood sugar at regular intervals (Self-Monitoring of Blood glucose – SMBG). Though difficult, this can be done by a glucometer and keep a record. Get an idea of Fasting sugar (FBS) and 2 hours after food (PPBS), & HbA1C (inform me) and check before dinner and after every major food. The basic idea is to reduce the food intake to 1/3 of what you take now. The dictum of sugar control is diet, exercise, diet + medicine and at later stage medicine+ Insulin will be needed. There are different diet plans of varying calories for each person depending on his activity & life style. For diabetes, hypertension (high BP) and many long-term illness control there is the need for regular advice and follow up. Just one time consultation or advice is not enough to guide a diabetic in scientifically & medically correct manner. Dear, To control or maintan BP normal there are some instructions are given below: •Do not take salt in high amount or try to avoid it because high sodium level increase BP. • Eat less amount of pickle and fast food, fast food contain high sodium. • Avoid drinking alcohol and smoking. • Take less amount of coffee and tea both increase BP. • Drink 8 to 10 glass of water daily. • Do exercise daily, running and long walk. • Take 6 to 8 hrs of sleep daily. Do not take too much stress. • Do long breathing pranayams daily for 10 - 15 minutes. It will reduce your stress level in your body. • Avoid taking too much fat foods such as butter, cheese, ghee. • Eat healthy diet such as green leafy vegetables, fruits. Eat an apple daily.

I am 19 years old boy. I used dianabol in tablets form which given by my trainer I used dianabol approx 6,7 months earlier without knowledge. Some times I feel shortness in breathing in sleeping time. What so do?

Because Dianabol is a powerful anabolic, some side effects may appear such as body hair growth, oily skin and acne with dosages of 20 to 25 mg a day. There are also some reports that Dbol may increase male pattern baldness, although scientific studies indicate it isn't as harsh as reports say. If you stop it and do yoga and exercise you will become normal.

I am suffering from Anaphylactic shock attacks since last two years. In last two years I had faced 4 severe attacks and many mild attacks of the same. Is anaphylaxis curable? How it gets enter in our body? Is this rare disease? I m working in a warehouse facility where dust is at large amount since last 6 months, do I need to quiet my job?

Anaphylactic shock isually by allergic reaction to allergen like nuts air dust and can be any allergen substances some it is very serious condition and also very difficult to find out by processing eliminations. So think about your working environments what type allergen it could be.

Can a person who has gone through a triple bypass surgery use a hot water bag if having persistent cough on chest? (phlegm+cold) Also if there is water retention in both legs, what can be done to solve this issue?

Direct hot water bag in the chest should be avoided instead you can have hot fomentations. Have plenty of homemade freshly prepared lemon juice which is rich in vitamin c thereby increasing your body autoimmune system which prevent infection. Have warm saline gargle twice daily. Thatbwill take care of cogh and cold. Regarding swelling of keg there may be some kidney problem. For that you can consult nephrologists.

I have undergone bye pass surgery 19 years back. In my recent periodical check up, tmt showed negative report. (*previous tests positive). I think is because of treafmill exercise and pransysmam and dhyanam. I would like to know, how long tm exercise is to be done. And shall I stop it when max hr is reached. 141 (90% of 154), my age being 66 years. I used to walk around 400 mts per week (35-40 kms per week). Any more suggestions please.
