I broke my bone 6 weeks ago and had a cast. It was removed yesterday but the bone doesn't look straight on my xray. My doctor said that it is fine like that since now it's connected. Is this really true or it will cause me more problems in the future.

well you haven't mentioned which fracture you had!! , if doctor is saying it is unite,than that bone must be fine. and with time bone and limb will gain its strength. do some strengthening exercises for better improvement.

Core strengthening exercise- straight leg raised with toes turned outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day. Hams stretching- lie straight, take the leg up, pull the feet towards yourself, with a elastic tube or normal belt. Repeat 10 times, twice a day. Quadriceps exercises- lie straight, make a towel role and put it under the knee, press the keen against the role, hold it for 20 secs. Repeat 20 times twice a day. This will help relieve some pain.

I get shoulder pain alot even if I do not do much physical activity. What should I do?
A number of factors and conditions can contribute to shoulder pain. Some minor shoulder pain can be treated at home. Icing the shoulder for 15 to 20 minutes, three or four times a day for two to three days can help reduce pain. Use an ice bag or wrap ice in a towel (putting ice directly on your skin can cause frostbite). Simple shoulder exercises can help to stretch and strengthen muscles.

Hi if you have localized back pain with - no neurological symptoms like numbness, paresthesia, weakness in limbs etc, my advice is: - intensive physical therapy initially under supervision of a physiotherapist and then at home. - avoid forward bending, lifting heavy weights etc - take an analgesic like diclofenac or something which suits your body for 5-7 days - take muscle relaxant for same time as analgesic to relieve muscle spasm - ice packs at the site of pain, muscle spasm - local analgesic spray can be used but no massage is required let me know in a week time how you are feeling. I will actually ask you to get x ray of involved region of spine (ap & lateral) and send reports across to me so that I can advise further in a better manner. A knee hematoma is caused due to the accumulation of blood under the skin of the knee, due to trauma or injury to the blood vessel while performing surgery usually, a hematoma is considered to be a good thing as this prevents further bleeding. Even though the severity of the hematoma depends on its location, usually it disappears within few days without any treatment and management includes 1. Rest, ice, compression, and elevation are the common treatments for minor hematomas. 2. Hematomas on knee, restrict the movement of the knee joint, so it is important to take adequate rest and to avoid putting any strain on the joint. Jogging, running, and strenuous exercises should be avoided completely. 3. Icing the hematoma on the knee for about fifteen minutes, three to four times a day, can help to control swelling. Hot compresses using a hot water bottle or heating pad can speed up the recovery process. Heat promotes blood circulation and healing. 4. Applying turmeric powder on the hematoma helps to prevent secondary infection.-------- 5. Elevating the body above the heart helps to hasten the healing process as the accumulated blood is drained through lymphatic system due to gravity. If the knee hematoma is large, it will contain more blood and will take long time to disappear. So myself being a homoeopath suggest you totake below given homoeopathic mediccines foreasy disolving of hematoma in quick time arnica montana q (dr reckeweg) drink 10 drop in 20 ml fressh water 3 times daily for 1-2 months depending upon size and recovery of hematoma.

Treatment- 1-apply prasarini oil or pranacharya restopain oil on your affected part and give hot water fomentation. 2-take yograj guggul and agni tundi vati after lunch and dinner with warm water. 3-Take maha rasnadi kwath 2-2 tsf twice a day. 4-Take pranacharya vatari capsule and syrup twice a day. Seven Strengthening Exercises For A Frozen Shoulder

Frozen shoulder or adhesive capsulitis is one of the most common disorders of shoulders, usually observed in people aged above 35. Though there is no correlation between gender and age, this disorder seems to strike when the shoulder joint’s fluid connective tissue becomes stiff and inflamed somehow, thus restricting overall motion and causing sessions of indescribable pain. Though the scientific community has not been able to come up with any explanation for the exact causes of such disorders, it is believed to be associated with past trauma or injury to the said area, and/or may involve some auto-immune components.

Exercises which can bring relief:

  1. Finger walk: Facing a wall at a distance of three quarters of your arm's length, use your fingertips of the affected arm to reach the wall at your waist level. Use your fingers to slowly walk up the wall just as in a spider motion till the level you are comfortable.
  2. Cross body reach: Use the unaffected arm to gently lift and turn the affected arm across the body; the shoulder should be stretched by applying gentle pressure on it.
  3. Towel stretch: Use both arms to hold a towel of about 3 feet in length behind the back horizontally; using the unaffected arm, pull the affected arm upwards.
  4. Pendulum stretch: Stand upright and then gently lean forward, using the good arm to support your weight. Let your affected arm hang low, such that free movements can be observed. Rotate your affected arm in a circular motion, preferably with a diameter of about a foot. 10 revolutions a day are ideal for beginners, which can later be increased. However, make sure that you are comfortable with this exercise, and allow your arm to move freely without stretching it forcibly.
  5. Armpit stretch: Using your unaffected arm, lift the affected arm on a table/shelf placed at your chest level. Bend your knees gradually, stretch your armpit gently, and then slowly straighten it. Try to stretch a little further with each bend, without forcing it on your shoulder.
  6. Inward rotation: Hook a rubber exercise band to a fixed position such as a doorknob; hold one end of the band with your affected arm such that your elbow makes a right angle. Gently pull the band about two to five inches towards your body, keep it for five seconds and then let it go.
  7. Outward rotation: Use both your hands to hold a rubber exercise band such that your elbows make a right angle with the band. Pull your affected arm away from your body by about five inches, keep it that way for five seconds, and then gently let it go. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a Physiotherapist.
