It is commonly offered that ovulation occurs around the 2 week mark after the end of a woman’s last menstrual cycle but it can happen on many different days. The more accurate way to calculate ovulation on a calendar would be between the 12th and 16th day before your next menstrual cycle is set to begin. These calculations are based upon a woman who experiences regular menstrual cycles between 28 and 32 days apart.

There is no quick cure for lichen planus. However, it is likely to clear in time. Treatment aims to relieve itching and improve the appearance of the rash until it goes away. No treatment - is an option if symptoms are mild. Antihistamine medicines - may help to ease the itch. An antihistamine that makes you sleepy, taken at bedtime, may help you to sleep if the itch keeps you awake at night. Emollients - are often also given to provide moisture to your skin. These can also help to reduce the itching. A steroid cream or ointment - is commonly advised. Steroids reduce inflammation. The effect of steroid creams and ointments is variable. They work in many cases to ease itch but may not actually clear the rash. Steroid pastes or mouth washes - may help to ease painful mouth ulcers. A course of steroid tablets - may be advised if lichen planus is severe. This may clear, or greatly reduce, the rash. Steroid tablets taken for longer than a few weeks are not usually advised due to possible side-effects. Therefore, the rash may reappear after the tablets are stopped. However, a course of steroid tablets may help to tide you over a particularly bad spell. Immune modulators - such as imiquimod and levamisole may be advised by a specialist if lichen planus is severe. These work with the body's immune system to help fight damage to the skin. Skin irritation, headache, nausea and tiredness can be side-effects. Puva - this is a special light therapy that may be advised by a skin specialist if you have extensive and severe lichen plants. Laser treatment - low-dose lasers are sometimes used to treat lichen planus in the mouth. In general outlook is good as it is most of the times self limiting and goes away with time in around 6 months to 2 years.

I am suffering from pcod from the past four years. I have consulted many doctors but didnt worked for me. Because of pcod i am loosing my skin tone, hairs and gained too much of weight.

Hi thanks for posting your query. Most important thing in pcod treatment is you need to lose weight. Else the medications will not be effective. In addition to ovacare forte I would recommend you to use metformin 500mg once a day daily. Also get serum insulin levels ( fasting and postprandial ) and serum dhea and serum tsh levels tested and revert back with reports.

You are suffering from amenorrhoea just observe if you weep too often (ask your family or friends) you feel better in open and suppression of menses due to cold or putting your feet in cold water or you generally feel cold under even fan in summers. If yes take pulsatilla 30 1-2 drops in 1/4 cup lukewarm water 4 times a day observe next cycle then follow up with me.

It is often said that the couples who do most day-to-day activities together are more committed towards each other. But does the same stand true when it comes to watching sexual content or pornography? Well, research certainly seems to indicate that, with a whopping 96% couples watch pornography together. Here are some pros and cons of viewing porn with your partner.

PROs-

1. It may help you both in discovering your sexual preferences
It is important for both you and your partner to be on the same page when it comes to discovering your sexuality and figuring out each other’s sexual preferences. Just like adolescent sex education, pornography too educates you about the mechanics of sexual play. It is a useful tool that brings out the kinky side in you and makes you more open to discussions on things that pique your curiosity in the bedroom. As and when you see such visual imagery, it may appeal to you enough to try it out with your partner. Discuss such desires with your partner. This may help you in discovering what really turns you and your partner on.

2. It may help you in maintaining sexual fidelity in your relationship
Watching porn together with your partner can potentially increase the intensity of physical attraction between the two of you.This, as a result, leads to greater gratification for both of you, and if you are sexually satisfied by your partner, you are less likely to look for pleasure outside your relationship. Also, it is way healthier to indulge in it as a team rather than discovering your partner watching porn alone.

3. It may help both of you to pick up newer positions
Porn has the ability to expose you to new and exciting positions you never knew. About 58% of couples who viewed pornography claimed that the shared activity had a positive effect on their sex lives. New moves and unique positions are known to spice up sex lives. Men can surprise their women (or vice versa) with an exotic move or two. Porn may also help in decreasing shyness and in opening up your minds so that you can pick up and practice new moves.

Although porn viewing may consist of potential benefits, it may also affect your relationship adversely. When watched in excess, porn may cause certain problems in your relationship, which are-
1. It might set up wrong expectations in reality
Porn movies give you a warped view of what beauty is. It may cause you to have unrealistically higher expectations from your partner, whereas the reality may not match your imaginitive hopes and standards. As a result, it may also lead to frustration, aggression and infidelity.

2. It may lead to pornography addiction
The visual and physical appeal of porn may impact a person’s mental or social well-being. Increased porn viewing may hint at a person’s social isolation, loss of interest in career and other activities etc. It may also make you highly dependent on it, as it allows immediate sexual gratification. As a result the usage may go out of control and relate directly to compulsive behaviour.

3. It may affect your sexual drive and libido
Making love to your partner in real-life may become a foreign concept, as porn can decrease your physical drive with the possibility of making you sexually lazy. Porn may also have certain side effects including probable loss of libido and even difficulty in lasting longer. It may also make regular intercourse seem boring as it may not have the same sensual and visual appeal as pornography.
After realising its various pros and cons if you want to use porn, it is advisable to not use it as replacement but as an accessory for better sexual well-being.

Though often considered a taboo and laden with cons, having multiple sex partners can often be beneficial to our health, both physically and emotionally. Open relationships too, in this regard, have several pros and cons - which is helpful for those afraid of commitment, but it is detrimental too, as it can stir a number of negative emotions.

Pros: 


Females having multiple sex partners are more fertile: research has suggested that there have been a large number of cases where female-initiated polyandry has yielded a high number of direct and indirect benefits. It often leads to more longevity and a stronger reproductive system.
High amounts of sex has a large number of positive benefits: sex is very beneficial in a number of cases - it helps boost your immune system, helps reduce blood pressure, reduces risks of prostate cancer, works as an anti-aging agent, lowers risk of heart attack etc. 
Improves brain functioning: very active sex lives often have a positive health impact on brain functioning as well. It aids memory retention and functioning, especially if you can achieve orgasm frequently. 


Cons: 


Increases chances of sexually transmitted infections (stis): the risk of exposure to sexually transmitted infections or sexually transmitted diseases increases exponentially in case of multiple sexual partners. No form of contraception has proved to be foolproof, and thus there is a high risk of diseases involved in this regard.
Can lead to unplanned pregnancies: often, from frequently switching between partners and being highly sexually active, the odds of mis-contraception increases, and can often lead to unplanned pregnancies. This may prove to be especially detrimental, if you are not a part of a stable relationship.

Hello, The target TSH during pregnancy should be between 3.2-3.8,but less than that is acceptable indicating enough thyroxine already in the body.

My mother is 41+. She is having a problem for past 2 months. She is bleeding in the mid of her periodical cycle. Even she bleeds every time she is having intercourse for 10 to 15 mnts. And then it stops automatically. Am very worried about her. Can it be the problem of cervical cancer. Please help.

Gynocologist suggested gesto kare, to postpone periods. Is it ok to use it before 4 days to the period date?

I am totally opposing it. Menstrual cycle is very important phenomenon is woman. It is regulated by hormones of pituitary gland and ovaries. Level of these hormones get disturbed by taking drugs like gesto kare. These drugs may ruin your menstrual cycle in future. And remember, disease with hormonal disturbance are most difficult to treat. We should never play with menstrual cycle my opinion is not take such medication. Regards Dr Rajesh Suthar

Hi. Relax and don't worry! if you have got the periods after having sex, there are no chances of getting pregnant. Rather stress could be the reason for delayed menses. So, try to relax yourself. Take a general tonic - five phos. / thrice daily and alfaalfa tonic/ thrice daily. Revert back with your status.

TIPS FOR YOUR BELLY TO GO FLAT

Are you struggling with a stubborn midsection? Losing that belly fat is about more than just aesthetics; having excess weight around the midsection can increase your likelihood for a variety of illnesses, including diabetes, stroke, heart disease, and certain cancers. This article will teach you how to lose belly fat and improve your overall health in the long run.

1. Eating Right

Reduce your caloric intake. While it's impossible to lose weight from only one part of the body, people who lose overall body weight tend to lose belly fat first.
• Cut down on sugar and starch. These types of foods tend to be stored as fat if the calories are not burned off immediately, and provide little in the way of nutrition. Instead, eat a diet that is primarily composed of vegetables, fruits, whole grains, and lean proteins like fish, chicken, turkey, and tofu.
• Keep a diet journal to help you keep track of the food you eat. Studies have shown that people who keep diet and exercise journals tend to lose more weight than people who don't.
• Avoid snacking in between meals or late at night. If you are hungry in between meals, munch on healthy things like carrots, celery, nuts, or fruit.
• Reduce your portion sizes. Remember that all foods can be enjoyed in moderation, as long as you don't overdo it.

Stay Hydrated:



• Water keeps you full in between meals, and helps avoid mistaking thirst for hunger. You should drink atleast 8 glasses of water everyday.
• Drink one full glass of water before every meal. This will fill up your stomach so that you feel fuller faster.
• Skip the sugary sodas and fruit juices and opt for water instead. This will save you hundreds of unneeded calories.

Exercise Regularly:


You should get half and hour of moderate to vigorous aerobic exercise atleast four times a week. Ideal exercises include jogging, walking, and uphill cycling.Whatever exercise you chose be sure you are getting your heart rate up.
• Choose an exercise that you genuinely enjoy. If you are having fun, you will be more likely to stick with it.
• If you don’t have time to go to the gym or get formal exercise, then find ways to incorporate more physical activity into your daily life. Do chores around the house, walk to your destination rather than driving, or go out dancing with friends. Remember, that exercise doesn’t always have to feel like work.
Get Enough Sleep:

People who are sleep deprived tend to feel sluggish, causing them to overeat to compensate for the lack of energy. Getting atleast 6-7 hours of sleep a night is crucial to maintaining your overall health, and can help you manage your weight in the long run.
Mange Stress:

While a certain amount of stress is unavoidable, too much stress can increase the level of cortisol in the body, which is responsible for excess fat storage.
• Regular exercise can manage stress. If you suffer from chronic stress, consider taking up yoga,meditation, or any other mind-body activities that focus on breathing, good posture and relaxation.
• Eliminate stress inducing people and/or things from your life, if possible. If your job is the cause of your chronic stress, consider changing careers or cutting down on your hours.
• Manage your time. Constantly running late and feeling pressed for time can be a major cause of stress. Better manage your time by making a list of things you need to accomplish in a given day, and check each one off as you go. Use a daily planner to to help organize your schedule and keep track of obligations.

Don’t try to spot reduce;


Crunches and other ab-busting work outs are great if you are trying to build muscle, but if you have excess belly fat, these type of exercises will build muscle underneath the fat without without targeting the fat itself. Instead of trying up your stomach only, focus on total body toning exercises that build overall muscle mass. The more you have, the more calories you will burn even when you are resting
TIPS:
• Stay focused and think about the clothes that you want to be able to wear.
• Track your progress by taking measurements, taking "before and after" pictures, and weighing yourself at least once a week.
• Time how long you run/ do exercise daily.
• Find an exercise or diet buddy to help keep you motivated.
• Cook meals at home when possible, and use olive oil or cooking spray rather than butter. When eating out, opt for protein-rich foods over starchy foods like pasta. Ask for dressings and sauces on the side to cut down on extra calories.
• Consider hiring a nutritionist or personal trainer to help point you in the right direction and keep you motivated.
Set yourself a goal and when you reach it, award yourself.

In pregnancy you should take as little medicine as possible. Only painkiller safe in pregnancy is paracetamol (crocin). Don't take any other painkillers as they harm the baby. You should try simple tips to avoid headache and start preventive medicine for migraine after baby is delivered. Follow these lifestyle changes to avoid headache 1.
