You have to make him walk and play a lot and exhaust his energy level so that it obeys you command . Don't worry dogs can be trained in any age no problem.

C.S.C, D.C.H, M.B.B.S
General Physician,
If an unvaccinated or partially vaccinated pet dog or cat is bitten by a stray dog, wounds should be thoroughly washed with water and an antiseptic such as povidone iodine should be applied.

If the stray dog is suspected to be rabid, then the pet dog should be put to sleep (Euthanasia). But if the owner is not ready or the rabid status of the stray dog is not known, post?exposure vaccination of the pet with cell culture vaccine and simultaneous careful observation of the pet are recommended for up to 2 months (up to six months is desirable) for possible signs of rabies in the pet. During this period, if the dog becomes sick, the owner should take the dog to the veterinarian to get rabies ruled out at the first instance. It should be noted that post?exposure vaccination is not very successful in dogs. Simultaneously, pre?exposure vaccination of all household members is necessary.

Dear Doctor, My rabbit's hair removes from his mouth side,is their any medicine ? please advise .

MVSC
Veterinarian, Hyderabad
Check what he is eating. Check for any allergic compounds in the grass while nibling. Check for the external parasites like nits or lice on the hair. Change the place for feeding and see the difference.

Which is the right brush for German shepherd ? Bristle, rake or slicker?

Master of sciences, B.V.Sc. & A.H.
Veterinarian,
I would suggest normal comb for any dog . if your are not a professional groom-er u r not suppose to use the specified stuff sir that's the only reason you can use normal comb of different size depending upon your dogs hair coat density . i mean the normal human combs . preferably the used one to prevent damage of the new comb it does to the underlying skin

I have a parrot, its feathers are of red color. Bt it is unable to speak. What should I give this parrot to eat so that it start speaking.

B.V.Sc. & A.H.
Veterinarian, Hoshiarpur
Parrots start speaking with training. The training should begin with small words like hi hello wah etc the training session should not be of more than 15 to 20 minutes in a row followed by giving gifts to the pet.

You give full of water as your dog want. It may be due to acidic urine so I advise routine urine test then consult the doctor.

Allow your animal to live in its own habitat. Means at the end of day take your pet to the place where it can run for 5-10 mts (dogs, cats), large animals (cattle, buffalo, etc) to a place where it can rome free for at least 15-20 mts you will find productivity of the animal will increase appreciably

Veterinarian, Bhiwadi
Chewing and eating things some times are outcome od developong taste in such thing. Do not punish for doing so. Keep emergy of your dog burn by giving good exercise. When ever she try to eat mud or clothe say no and give rigjt thing ti chew like chew bones etc. Do not leave clothes scattered in home and do not allow access of mud.

MVSc, BVSc
Veterinarian,
Holi - Spare the Pets!
Do not, under any circumstances, use colours or bhang on these helpless creatures as the consequences could be fatal. The presence of lead, which acts as an accumulative poison, makes Holi colours a high-risk material for dogs. Inhalation of the coloured powder may also cause nasal irritation and possibly respiratory allergy or infection. Most dogs get paranoid when you rub colours on them, since it very often gets into their eyes and nose, making them very uncomfortable. Dogs and us are not the same make, so this Holi, let?s keep the colors off the animals!

My puppy (Golden Retriever) is 38 days old. It shakes its head very often. My parents are planning to give it back. So please tell me, is it really something so serious. Please give me reply Asap. Please .

MVSc (Ph.D pursuing)
Veterinarian, Hyderabad
Head shaking as if shivering or fits? it could be a simple low sugar problem to severe brain problem. Please check a simple blood sugar check like we do for humans and see if the blood glucose level is below 60.
