I would like to know age of child and if iron syp was started. 6 mths. Lf not your child may have low hemoglobin which causes poor appetitr. Associated worms cud be there. Most common cause is often too much milk-stomach full for 3 hrs. 1. Hemoglobin, tsh thyroid test 2. Deworm- giveonly boiled water stop bottle feeds. Rule is always food before milk feed. 3. Appetite stimulant for 1 month 4. If hb less than 14 start iron syp dose 6 mg/kg.

Hi, if your son is having asthama then instead of oral medicine he should be put on asthalin inhalers and if required steroid inhaler.

Babies usually sleep during day time & are awake during night time for 4 to 6 weeks. Try to wake up & feed 2-3 times during night.

If the hands are very short she need to be examined. This may be just a fear and she may grow up with time. It is more reassuring to show a doctor.

Make sure baby is feed with adequate amount of fuel (mother’s milk). Small frequent feeding is needed. Try to give a protect and good environment for the baby to sleep Check for the bowel movement and consistency. If he still has the same issues even after modification. Consult with the Paed doctor immediately.

Certain medication need not be given in G6PD deficiency person because if we give it than there is a risk of heamorrhage and which can complicate things and your Paediatrician will inform you about medication which need not be given and as far as diet is concerned as of now follow your doctor advice

Your child is not very much under weight. Some children eat less and do not put on much weight. In fact obesity is a leading problem in childhood. If we make sure he has no underlying diseases nothing need to be worried. There' s appetite stimulant and he can be given nutritional supplement. More can be personally discussed. If interested you can come to personal chat online. Regards

My new born baby girl has 2mm pda. What is the treatment for this? She is now 4months age.

DMB

Ductus closure is clearly indicated for any child or adult who is symptomatic from significant left-to-right shunting through the PDA. In asymptomatic patients with significant left-to-right shunting that results in left heart enlargement, closure is indicated to minimize the risk of complications in the future. The size of PDA is not relevant but its impact on the left ventricle is. Your child needs regular follow up and trans catheter occlusion if her heart function is compromised. In case you are getting any invasive procedures like scopies, catheterisation or dental extraction, she will need antibiotics before procedure to prevent a serious infection called bacterial endocarditis.
