A Breath of Fresh Skin

MD, ExSR Dermatologist AIIMS New Delhi
Dermatologist, Delhi
A Breath of Fresh Skin

Oxygen provides a host of benefits to the skin; it brightens, speeds up healing, boosts circulation, reduces stress, and helps eliminate toxins. The treatment is designed for all skin types so everyone can reap the benefits, even pregnant ladies like me. The O2Lift also infuses peptides and high concentrations of enzymatic botanicals into the skin. It leaves you with luminous, refreshed and rejuvenated skin.

The facial itself takes 45 minutes:

Step 1: A Gel to Milk Cleanser is massaged into my skin. It gently cleans the skin, no stinging or drying sensation, it is milky soft. The therapist takes her time working the product in and then removed the cleanser using a warm cloth/sponge

Step 2: An Enzymatic FacialPeel is applied. The gel smell is lovely and is also well massaged into the skin for a few minutes before it liquefied.

Step 3: An Oxygenation Masque is then applied. This is where the magic happens. The product goes on like a gel and then starts to foam. It is the weirdest feeling - like fizz, actually effervescent might be a more appropriate word. This is how it delivers the oxygen into the skin.

Step 4: A StemCell Enhancer is then massaged onto the face and neck. This is a serum loaded with high doses of stem cells, vitamin C and botanicals which penetrate deep into the skin.

Step 5: Prevention+Tinted moisturizer is then applied to the skin.

I have acne problems. Normally in the past they had come up intermittently, but in the last few weeks their frequency have increased suddenly. And they almost all over my face. 1 or 2 of them are in big red size but all others are very small and just appear asradishblack dot on my face, As far as I remember I never had continuous acne of this much quantity in the past. Currently I am applying lemon on my face before I go to sleep. But its not helping much. Please provide a solution to this (medicinal or natural. And any diet tips to control this will also be helpful.

My skin became black. Please suggest me some Vitamin E capsules and Skin whitening capsules for clear glowing skin.

General Physician, Nashik
Hello Thanks for the query. First of all you should know what glutathione is. It is an anti oxidant which captures free radicals and reduces skin pigmentation. Any drug has side effects and it holds true for glutathione too. it is been widely used in market as skin whitening cream and shows some improvement too. The side effects are not much and can be used safely but the effect will last only till the time you take the medicine. Once you stop skin color will revert back. Let me know if you have any other doubts. Thank you

MD - Dermatology

You need to institute a couple of changes to see a lot of results. Use a broad spectrum sunscreen both indoors as well as before going out. It shud b both uva and uvb protective. Always use your umbrella whether its raining or not. Use a cap or scarf or your dupatta to cover your head. Protect your eyes with a sunshade. Avoid scrubbing your face. Do not steam or sauna. If you swim, use a sunscreen prior to it and after. Don't directly spray perfumes on your body. Spray them on your clothes and wear them. Don't use deodorants or roll ons. Avoid face cosmetics for the time being. You can press powder onto your sunscreen if at all you want to use a cosmetic. Drink two litres of water everyday. Pick up carrots, papaya, pumpkin, black grapes to have everyday. These contain important antioxidants and phytonutrients which vil soften your skin. Do not stress over anything. Pray-itll distract you off your stress. You can use this do it yourself mask at home which vil give you an instant glow. Mix 1 tbsp puree each of papaya and carrot with 1 tbsp of curd and 1 tbsp of aloe vera. Apply it across your face or dull body part for ten to fifteen minutes and wash it off without soap. sunlight damages skin, it's color and texture. Uv rays enter even through the window. So make sure to use sunscreen everytime both inside and outside. Avoid cosmetics. Use cold water to wash face with a mild cleanser. Remove soap from your armamentarium. Make sure to have plenty of tomatoes and oranges. Vitamin c supplements vil help you. It's very important to b stress free. Don't use scrubs for your face, it'll grow more dark.

Common Skin Diseases That Ayurveda Can Easily Cure

The skin is the largest external organ as well as the largest organ in general in the human body. There are many types of skin diseases that can afflict your body and they may appear anywhere. Ayurveda is a potent weapon which can be used to treat many skin diseases effectively. The natural remedies of Ayurveda are being increasingly adopted throughout the world.

Let's take a look at a few of the skin diseases that can be easily cured by Ayurveda:

  • Eczema: One of the most common types of skin diseases, eczema is characterized by the reactions that the skin has. These reactions can manifest themselves in many forms. The most common reaction is swelling of the skin with redness. Other forms may also develop blisters, cracking of the skin, scaling or papules.
  • Scaly rashes: Scientifically known as Papulosquamous Eruptions, scaly rashes are usually the result of itching which in itself is a reaction to some internal or external factors. These rashes can be mild to severely painful depending on what had caused them. Some factors behind these may be eczema, reaction to drugs, psoriasis and others.
  • Urticaria: These rashes differ from other ones as they persist for a short period of time and usually result in swellings on the skin. These swellings may be very sensitive and itchy. Some common examples of Urticaria are Nettle rashes and hives that may develop due to an external factor such as bug bites.
  • Psoriasis: Ayurveda has great treatments for this disease as its incidence within the population is quite high. This is a non-infectious skin condition where inflammation occurs in the affected parts of the skin and reddish scales form on the body. This problem is usually attributed to excessive cells within the body.
  • Pruritus or itching: Another very common skin affliction which can be caused by a variety of factors, it can be a reaction to something external or be caused by internal issues that may be developing. Mostly caused by the reaction of external nerve endings they may become very painful if over stimulated.

Ayurveda has many remedies for all of the ailments mentioned above along with many other skin disorders and has gained popularity as it completely natural and devoid of side effects encountered with conventional medicine. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a ayurveda and ask a free question.

I got white spots on my skin. On the right shoulders and back of my neck. What can I do for dis.

DHMS (Diploma in Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery)
Homeopath, Ludhiana
White spots on can occur due to a number of reasons, of which conditions can be mild or severe. The condition can be mild or severe, and generally covers the majority of the skin on a particular area of the body. They may also cause irritation or itching. The occurrence of whites on the face can be extremely distressing. People affected with this problem should obtain medical advice to diagnose what is causing the condition and the suitable treatment. Causes of White Spots White spots on the face occur for various reasons. Understanding some of these reasons may be beneficial in treating the condition. Furthermore, understanding the cause can also help people avoid certain circumstances that increase the risk. 1. Tinea Versicolor This is a chronic fungal infection of the skin. Also known as pityriasisversicolor, this fungus causes discolored patches on the skin as it interferes with the normal pigmentation. The color of the patches may be darker or lighter than the surrounding skin and most often, affects the back and trunk of adolescent males. Exposure to sunlight, hot, humid weather, oily skin and excessive sweating may aggravate the condition. 2. Vitiligo This is a skin condition that results in the loss of melanocyte pigmentation of the skin. This results in white patches that feel as if it is part of the skin. The cause of vitiligo is unclear although it is believed to be an autoimmune disease. However, mild trauma to any area of the skin including the face can also result in the development of vitiligo. Vitiligo can affect the face, hands and feet, elbows and genital area. 3. Idiopathic Guttate Hypomelanosis White spots on the face may also be due to Idiopathic Guttate Hypomelanosis, a skin condition resulting in 2 to 5 mm flat, white spots commonly found on the shins and forearms. This skin condition mostly affects fair skinned people, although it may occur in dark skinned individuals too. The white spots may occur more commonly in people over the age of 40. 4. Pityriasis Alba This skin condition is common in children aged 6 to 12. It is a rash that appears on the face, neck and arms, and is not easily differentiated between normal skin. The rash may be covered with skin flakes resembling light dust. The cause of Pityriasis Alba is not known and is often considered as a form of eczema. This condition is often mistaken with vitiligo. However, while vitiligo has a distinct border, Pityriasis Alba does not. Treatments for White Spots on Face The medical treatment for white spots depends entirely on the root cause that underlies the condition. There are certain things that you can try to accelerate the process of treatment . Some of these mentioned treatments are professional while others are home remedies. Home Remedies .  For treating vitiligo, consumption of ginger juice is recommended as it promotes blood flow. neem seed oil applied to the affected area will also bring beneficial results.  Idiopathic Guttate Hypomelanosis may not require treatment as it is harmless. However, topical steroids and retinoids may help treat the condition.  Treatment for Pityriasis Alba may not be necessary although the application of a moisturizer or hydrocortisone creams may help the disappearance of these patches.  Washing the face with mild soaps and exfoliating the skin at least twice a week with a honey, rice, turmeric and sandalwood powder paste can treat Tinea Versicolor. So identify your problem of white spots with the help of your local doctor so that appropriate treatment is given or send me your picture depicting those white spot along with the complete hitory of your spots,so that I am clear in making a diagnosis.

Hello doctor, I have several cut marks in my hand. These marks are about 3 years old. please suggest me some creme to remove these scars.

Advanced Aesthetics, M.Ch - Plastic Surgery, MS - General Surgery, MBBS

Scar revision is one of the most frequently performed surgeries and we are the pioneers in central India since last 30 years. .Surgery may be the only answer. .Surgery /Laser/Chemical Peel/Dermabrasion are the the possibilities. The surgery is almost painless because there are enough medications to keep the pain under control. Scars improve over time -alteast 1 year or more. If they do not improve then Plastic surgery consultation may be sought. Scars can be improved by surgery but not deleted. We need to examine the patient to know what is wanted and what can be done and to work out how much, when, where, etc
