Hi Doctor, I just want to know that is glister toothpaste good for teeth? Last time I have asked you for brightened teeth and you suggested me to use himalaya sparkling and I am still using it but now I can not brush my teeth hardly and I have to do very gently because if I do hardly then blood comes. I am very scared if my teeth are getting damage. Also because I am very lazy and I can not brush my teeth twice in a day. Please help and suggest me. Plz.

I have found best results from homoeopathic toothpaste heklalava by wheezal pharmacy... and there is a fixed pattern of brushing... doing it wrong way damages the gums... If you have bleeding then you may also start taking Vitamin c supplements..

May need Re-root canal treatment only if the treated tooth is infected or treatment for adjacent teeth which might have been decayed. Otherwise root canal need not to be repeated again and again. It is the permanent solution for decayed tooth. Tooth brush to be changed every 2 months. Changing the toothbrush alone donot keeps your teeth clean. All toothpaste have nearly similar ingredients like Abrasives, Fluorides, Surfactants, Antibacterial agents, Flavourants, Remineralizers, Fluoride, Diethylene glycol, Triclosan etc. Only the wrong brushing technique that we follow harms our teeth and gums. So consult your dentist, learn proper brushing technique, Brush your teeth twice a day, up & down short vertical strokes, with ultra-soft bristles, indicator brush to protect your teeth and gums from plaque and calculus. Floss your teeth inter dentally once a day. Consume a healthy diet rich in vegetables and lean protein. Reduce your intake of sugary foods and beverages. Gargle your mouth thoroughly after every meal. Drink plenty of fluoridated tap water. Drink not consume alcohol drinks. Don’t smoke.

My mouth is closed because of eating gutkha is there any tablet or way to open it. please help me.

BDS (Gold Medalist)
Dentist, Gurgaon
Restricted mouth opening after prolonged gutkha use is an early sign of Oral Cancer. If the habit continues and the condition aggravates, a surgical intervention is required. There are no 'magic tablets' available in the market to open the mouth. You must get yourself examined by an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon (specialized dentist) at the earliest and quit the habit right away. The surgeon would be able to suggest you certain medicines that you need to regularly take in order to improve the mouth opening. Some local injections (enzymatic) might be required as well to hasten up the mouth opening process. The good news is that if you immediately vow to STOP THE HABIT, the damage already done, will start to be repaired by your body. Take a sane decision and live longer and happily!

Saving a fallen tooth can prove to be useful. Wrapping it up in a piece of plastic or soaking it into milk or trying to keep it in place immediately after it has fallen can prevent any further harm. Consult a dentist immediately after undertaking one of the above measures.

Apply SNOWDENT paste on the teeth. Wait for 10 to 15 min .Then brush your teeth with the same paste. Applying it overnight for better results.

Mouth opening is reduced due to fibrosis of cheek musculature. We need to give you medication containing lysing enzymes. We need to discuss it for complete treatment.

You need to consult a nearby dentist and get your teeth and gum conditions checked. He/she might advise you for an oral prophylaxis procedure and prescribe you a good mouthwash for bad breath.

Implants are costly but the best replacement for missing teeth as they closely mimic natural teeth. If not, other alternatives include fixed crowns and bridges, but they may not be possible to place in every patient. Consult your dentist for the same.
