It must be sciatic pain ie. The nerve gets compressed in the low back. For that conservative management would be ice can be kept in the low back where you have back pain. It is suggestible to wear lumbo sacral belt which would help you to build the abdominal muscle tone which itself would make you feel better. You can also wear mcr chappals which would help you to have less weight falling in the painful back.

Hi if you have to sit for long time or travel in bike for long time in your job please follow proper positioning of your body during work or travel. Choose proper chair/table/seat height and alignment. Follow simple free exercise everyday that you might have done in school days during sports day like lifting arms, legs, twisting body segments before work. Walking will mobilise all your joints- a better way to exercise your joints or swimming is a best exercise.

Any way it may be tried, --.Acetaminophen 250mg OD & SOS. X 5days. --.Caldikind plus (from Mankind)1 tab OD x 5 days. --. Fomentation with warm water. --. Sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding. -- .Do mild exercises for back, knee & legs (Take help of a physiotherapist or visit www.drncgupta.com). Massage with your thumbs from the mid points of the shoulder blades on both sides towards the lower back of your head up to lower level of the ears. Use oil or water for massage. Rotate your head clockwise and anticlockwise, forward and down, left and right a few times. Do for 5 to 10 times morning and evening. Give pressure the dipping point on the portion between the thumb and the index finger on the back of the palm. Press and release for 15 times where the pain is more. This will solve the problem. Further do some wrist rotation exercise. Consult after 5 days. For further guidance and treatment.

* when our shoulders are forward, this also brings our chin forward, this posture encourages tightness in the chest and over stretching in the back resulting in a rounded back. * we can correct this with exercises. Following are some very effective posture correction exercises: 1> shoulder circles - lift your shoulders up, back, and down. Repeat 10 times. 2> shoulder blade squeeze - begin by bringing your shoulders back, then squeezing your shoulder blades together. Relax and return to the resting position. Repeat 10 times. 3> chin tuck - repeat 10 times. 4> arms lifting - repeat 10 times. 5> spine extension - repeat 10 times. Note: do not hold your breath while exercising.

Requires detailed examination and investigation. Preliminary investigations suggested: hb, tlc, dlc, esr, blood sugar fasting & pp, uric acid vit d urine r/e x-ray of the affected part. Anyway it may be tried sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Spring beds, folding beds or thick mattress are harmful use no pillow under the head. Do hot fomantation paracetamol 250mg od & sos x 5days. Caldikind plus 1tab od x10. Do neck, back, knee & general exercises. It may have to be further investigated. Do not ignore it. Let it not become beginning of a bigger problem. Make sure that patient is not allergic to any of the medicines that he/she is going to take. If it does not give relief in 4-5days, inform.

This could be due to oa knee &/or obesity. Physiotherapy along with medicines will help. Do knee exercises. It may have to be further investigated rule out diabetes & vit. D deficiency or any other metabolic disorder. Sleep on a hard bed with a soft bedding on it. Any way take multivitamins & other antioxidants along with. Ibuprofen 200mg od & sos x 5days you will need other supportive medicines also. Make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take. Contact me again, if needed.

Hi I can understand your problem. # relax & stay positive. # take hot and cold fomentation. # learn posture care exercise. # use lumber support. # take break every 20 minutes. # do strengthening exercise of back and core muscles not all back pains are same. Do share investigation reports if you have any.

I am suffering with heel problem since 6, 7 months . What is the reason for this pain.

I am suffering with heel problem since 6, 7 months . What is the reason for this pain.
It can be either plantar fascitis, or calcanear spur. Though without seeing your feet and examining it properly, exact diagnosis can't be done. Still i'll give you some general suggestions. Don't wear heels, wear flats, if possible wear sandals/shoes made of mcr material, every morning as soon as you get up, before placing the feet on the ground, do some general up-down and sideways movement of feet, then take a tub filled with lukewarm water, add some salt in it, immerse your feet in it, and again do feet movements for 10-15 mins, then place a cloth or towel on the floor, place your feet over it and curl your toes, ie, bend your toes and relax, continuously for 20 times, then do calf muscles self stretching for sometime. All these will gradually reduce your problem. Visit a physiotherapist personally for some other treatments for pain relief.

Ideally you should recover completely after 5 years of ligament injury. You should go for a physiotherapy rehabilitation program for knee for at least 3 months. Before planning the surgery. As physiotherapy will strengthen your joint and make it more efficient.

I suffer with lower leg pain. And is it possible due to lack of calcium. And if it is then can I take the calcium tablets. I have one with me. Do help Tablet with name. -- alfacalcidol and calcium carbonate capsules. Is it ok if I take them with Dr. consent.

If you have localized back pain with - no neurological symptoms like numbness, paresthesia, weakness in limbs etc, my advice is: - intensive physical therapy initially under supervision of a physiotherapist and then at home. - avoid forward bending, lifting heavy weights etc - take an analgesic like diclofenac or something which suits your body for 5-7 days - take muscle relaxant for same time as analgesic to relieve muscle spasm - ice packs at the site of pain, muscle spasm - local analgesic spray can be used but no massage is required let me know how you are feeling. I will actually ask you to get x ray of involved region of spine (ap & lateral) and send reports across to me so that I can advise further in a better manner. Do not hesitate to contact me if you need any further assistance.

Extension Exercises x 15 times x twice daily - lying on tummy, take left arm up for 3 seconds, then bring it down, right arm up for 3 seconds, bring down. Bring right leg up, hold for 3 seconds, bring it down. Then right leg up and hold for 3 seconds and bring it down. Repeat twice a day- 10 times.

As you feel pain in knees, follow these usefultips for pain relief: * first check out bone mineral density (bmd). In case of low bmd, your calcium level in body are low. So take take calcium rich diet daily. Take a glass (300 ml) of full cream milk daily or 100 gm of cheese or 1-2 eggs regularly. * give a gentle oil massage to knees regularly and wrap your knees with cloth dipped in hot water for atleast 10-15 minutes. * wear knee cap or wrap crape bandage during walk for knee support. * sit atleast for 5-8 minutes in sunlight in morning or evening for vitamind. *avoid heal shoe and wear only flat shoes for balanced load on knees. * check out your blood sugar level and hemoglobin level in every 6 months. * if you have any history of rheumatoid arthritis in family then checkout your ra factor. * take guggalu tablets if himalaya one tablet daily for atleast 3 months. * take a piece of garlic, crush it and boil it a glass of milk and drink daily for fast pain relief.
