Hello doctors. My mom is suffering from severe knee pain. Her feet have swollen and she is unable to walk. She got her diabetics check up in march and it was normal. But she do have increased uric acid problem and also she is undergoing menopause. She has already taken medical consultation and under medication. I will be very grateful if you can share some home remedies to keep uric acid level in control. And some home treatment which can give her relief from the unbearable pain. Regards Pooja.

Knee advice. Avoid sitting cross legged. Avoid squatting. Quadriceps exercises. Hams stretching. Sports taping. Hot fomentation.

Hello lybrate-user, firstly find out the reason for muscle pain and which body part. As age increases oyur muscle mass reduces. So diet should be sufficient in proteins. Quadriceps exercises- lie straight, make a towel role and put it under the knee, press the keen against the role, hold it for 20 secs. Repeat 20 times twice a day. This will help relieve some pain. Core strengthening exercise- straight leg raised with toes turned outward, repeat 10 times, twice a day. Hams stretching- lie straight, take the leg up, pull the feet towards yourself, with a elastic tube or normal belt. Repeat 10 times, twice a day.

Tk anti inflammatory durg if you like this I advise you few physiotherapy sessions for spasm relief and do stretching exercise.

Achilles tendonitis or heel pain or plantar fasciitis is a very common condition. During night our feet are in a downward position which causes their stiffness. When we try to straighten them in the morning, they are stretched and hence the pain. You can start by doing feet stretching exercises in the morning before getting down from the bed and do ice packs.

Dear according to your height your weight should be between 60-63. Your just over weight. Go for jogging/swimming/aerobic exercises. Control your diet by avoiding junk/sweets/oily substances. Consult your dietitian for proper diet chart. Take care.

Hi lybrate-user, good morning. Do hot water fomentation (5 mins) and icing (3 mins, take some ice cubes in towel and do small circular movements) for 15 minutes for three times a day. Do core muscle strengthning and stretching exercises. If pain does not subside take ift or ultrasound therapy under supervision of a physiotherapist for 6 to 8 days followed by exercises.

Firstly maintain your posture sit straight, avoid toward bending avoid long sitting, standing and lifting heavyweight do rest and tk heat fermentation twice a day. Tk muscle relaxant medicine. And do stretching exercise of spine. If it work then ok otherwise tk physiotherapy treatment.

Sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Spring beds, folding beds or thick matress are harmful do hot fomantation. Sumo joy 1 tab. Bd & sos x 5days. Caldikind plus 1tab od x10. Knee & general exercises. It may have to be further investigated. Make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take. For emergency treatment contacts your nearest hospital or family doctor. If it doe s not give relief in 4-5 days, contact me again.

Hello, we have such cases in our clinics. No problem, it will be cured. Make sure she is on diabetic medication as suggested by doctor. Women loose calcium very much which makes weak bones. You need to get your tests done. Hb, esr, urine examination, chest xray, widal, slide for mp, etc. Depending upon your symptoms. In the mean while you can have pcm 500mg on sos basis and azithromycin 500mg 1od for 5 days. Review after investigations.

Hello, As it is mechanical problem, we can only make the pain better by giving her homoeopathic medication. Give her homoeopathic medicines - Arnica 200 and Rhus Tox. 200 - take both of them thrice daily for 1 week. Also, apply Schwabe's Topi-Arnica and Topi MP Gel on the affected area in circular motions gently thrice a day. Let her do Physiotherapy/ Ayurvedic massages which would help her in reducing her problem to pretty good extent.

Hi, When we start exercising after long time our body start paining as it is not used to it.So continue with the exercises and your body pain will go automatically when your body gets used to it. First start exercising for 20mins then gradually increase the timing.
