Hi, I have a girl child of 21 days. While feeding to her I feel pain in left breast, & it is hard compared to right side breast. Due to it I got fever. Is it any problem with left breast? How it will become soft? Please answer!

MBBS, M S General Surgery ,
General Surgeon, Chandigarh
Hi since you r retaining milk may be in the left breast you need to take out your milk first second take care of your self and if fever increases or pain increases then you need to show it to a surgeon near by there is a possibility that you will develop abscess that means pus .it happens with mothers those who breast feed. So do not worry for pain you can have tab paracetamol 650 mg twice a day .for fever also the same. Take care.

Dear sir, I am giving breast feeding for my kid of 3.5 years old. He is taking one but another breast is coming pain which he is not consumed. I am suffering with gastric problem. Why it is coming pain. Is there any serious problem? Sir.

MBBS, DNB - Obstetrics & Gynecology
Gynaecologist, Mumbai
If child is refusing breast from one milk or if there is pain in one breast only then you must meet a surgeon immediately. To rule out breast abscess. It may be breast engorgement. Doctor may ask you to do a sonography of breast in case there is a doubt.

U probably have a gynecomastia which usually begins around teen age and may reduce on its own with time. However it has nothing to do with cancer and is of absolutely no worry from this point of view.

My right breast has lumps and when I touch the part that is below my nipple, I feel little pain, and in my right armpit too. There is a lump in my right armpit which is sore to touch. I am a 21 year old female. What should I do?

BHMS

Go for a complete checkup. I don't think there is anything to worry. After complete assesment you decide whether you want to go through homeopathic treatment or allopathic treatment. There r lots of good homeopathic medicines for this type of conditions.

Throat cancer occurs when cells in your throat develop genetic mutations. These mutations cause cells to grow uncontrollably and continue living after healthy cells would normally die. The accumulating cells can form a tumor in your throat. It's not clear what causes the mutation that causes throat cancer. But doctors have identified factors that may increase your risk. Factors that can increase your risk of throat cancer include: Tobacco use, including smoking and chewing tobacco Excessive alcohol use A virus called human papillomavirus (HPV) A diet lacking in fruits and vegetables Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD)

Hi, This is regarding my dad. He is a patient who was having maxillary cancer. His left jaw has been removed completely and operated multiple times. Now his mouth opening is very limited with no denture. Now currently he is cancer free but has tooth pain and his lower tooth has cavity in it. Due to the limited opening the Oncologist he visits said nothing can be done for the tooth. Would you know a way to help him with the pain and suggesting a solution?

DNB, MBBS
Oncologist, Faridabad
Has he received radiation therapy as well? he can go for mouth opening exercise and physiotherapy. Prosthesis are available to help him with or simply with icecream spoons making a stack and try inserting in mouth. Dental surgeons can try opening it under anaesthesia if some procedure needs to be done. Please get opg or ct scan done t to check for the reasons for pain.

My girlfriend has a lump on breast, this was like a big 1 Rupee coin, this is ok? I heard many people have that, also I hard that this is symptoms of breast cancer . What to do.

Fellow Breast Surgery (MUHS), DNB (General Surgery), MBBS
Oncologist, Aurangabad
Lumps in breast can be of various types and their occurrence depends on the age of woman. I would assume for the sake of answering the question, that your girlfriend is anywhere between 20 and 30 years of age. This is an age where 9 out of 10 breast lumps are noncancerous. But yet a possibility of cancer cannot be completely ruled out. Every month woman's body prepares her for a pregnancy and there are hormonal ups and downs. Such changes are seen in breasts also. These changes are usually temporary unless a pregnancy occurs. But sometimes these changes persist and can be felt as a lump or generalized lumpiness. If the lump is cancerous it may be associated with growth of lump, nipple discharge, redness, lumps in armpit etc. To know exactly what it is, it is better to consult a surgeon, who will examine her, get a sonography of breasts and if the surgeon thinks it is necessary, a price might be removed from lump and checked under microscope for sure diagnosis. I hope this helps. See a surgeon.

What is cancer and Which part of body most effects from cancer? What are pre symptoms of cancer and How to protect of it? What must be do to cancer patient and what never do.

MBBS, MS- Surgery , M.Ch - Surgical Oncology , FIAGES
Oncologist, Delhi
Cancer is uncontrolled proliferation of transformed cells in any part of the body. Neoplasm or tumor are used variably to describe any swelling or new growth. Benign growths don’t have potential to spread to other organs or parts of the body while malignancy or malignant growths have uncontrolled proliferation and metastatic potential. Transformation is multistep process with genetic alterations by which normal cells acquire malignant potential, uncontrolled proliferation capacity and capacity to spread to other parts of the body (metastasis) Worldwide cancer is responsile for 1 in 8 deaths. Most Common cancers are: Men Women Prostate breast Lung cervix and endometrium Colorectal lung What Causes Cancer? Cancer is usually multifactorial 1. Age- more in age group >60 years compared to younger age group 2. Obesity- Body mass index >30 3. Tobacco - Cigarette, Cigar, Bidi, Hookah, Smokeless tobacco like gutka, zarda etc. There is no safe form of tobacco. 4. Pan masala and supari 5. Alcohol 6. Ultraviolet rays exposure 7. Radiation Exposure 8. Genetic factors 9. Others- pollution, certain chemicals, infections Prevention of Cancer: 1. Stay away from tobacco products 2. Eat healthy and daily physical activity- fresh fruits and vegetable are good, maintain optimal body weight 3. Be safe in sun 4. Cancer awareness and early detection: alarming signs are (CAUTION)- Change in bowel or bladder habits A sore that will not heal Unusual discharge or bleeding Thickening or lump in the breast, testicles or elsewhere Indigestion or difficulty swallowing Obvious change in a wart or mole Nagging cough or hoarseness 5. Cancer Screening: screening is for healthy individuals with education. Rather than going for unnecessary blind tests, programme for screening should be planned in consultation with your oncologist as requirements are different for different cancers and differs as per age groups and gender. Also screening is not effective in all cancers. Cancer education and awareness is has due importance. Some cancers in which screening has been shown to be effective includes breast, coclon, rectum, cervix, prostate, lung in high risk groups but as mentioned earlier it is planned with participation of both individual and oncologist.

How identity breast cancer? Any symptoms on our body? Any home test? Clinical test cost how much?

MBBS, DNB (General Surgery)
General Surgeon,
Self breast examination should be done by all ladies after the age of 40. Kindly learn the method from a doctor. Self breast examination can lead to early detection of any lump in the breast. Symptoms are lump in breast, nipple discharge, skin changes over breast etc. General symptoms would be weight loss loss of appetite breast pain which may be seen in in many other conditions also. Tests cost would differ from institute to institute. Government hospitals would do it for a minimum. The ideal way to go about it would be to visit a surgeon and get yourself examined and then go ahead with usg and mammography. Based on history and your test results the doctor would advise you further follow up.
