Dear lybrate-user, You seem to be having a major depressive disorder. It can be due to a hormonal or medical or drug related cause. I need to know about your age, medical illnesses, drugs you are taking and many more details to diagnose. Please consult a psychiatrist nearby and get diagnosed She/he may request few blood tests to find out other age related medical diseases. If they are NORMAL, she/he may prescribe you with a tablet of antidepressant for few months. The dose will be changed according to your improvement and side effects of the tablets. It might take 3-6 weeks for you to improve and be active like few years back. Still you need to take those tablets for many months. Remember it is treatable.

Hello, Do share more details of your problem. Hypertension (HTN), also known as high blood pressure, is a long term medical condition in which the blood pressure in the arteries is persistently elevated. High blood pressure usually does not cause symptoms. Some with high blood pressure report headaches (particularly at the back of the head and in the morning), as well as lightheadedness, vertigo, tinnitus (buzzing or hissing in the ears), altered vision or fainting episodes. Normal blood pressure at rest is within the range of 100–140 millimeters mercury (mmHg) systolic and 60–90 mmHg diastolic. High blood pressure is present if the resting blood pressure is persistently at or above 140/90 mmHg for most adults. Lifestyle changes and medications can lower blood pressure and decrease the risk of health complications. Lifestyle changes include weight loss, decreased salt intake, physical exercise, and a healthy diet. If lifestyle changes are not sufficient blood pressure medications are used. Management: 'Prevention is always better than Cure! Few lifestyle changes can help you in controlling and preventing the high blood pressure, even if you're taking blood pressure medication. Eat healthy foods. Consume more fruits, vegetables, whole grains, poultry, fish and low-fat dairy foods. Eat less saturated fat and trans fat. Decrease the salt in your diet. So, avoid eating processed foods, such as canned soups or frozen dinners which contains extra salt in it. Keeping a healthy weight, or losing weight if you're overweight or obese, can help you control your high blood pressure and lower your risk of related health problems. Increase physical activity which can help lowering your blood pressure, manage stress, reduce your risk of several health problems. Get indulged in regular exercising (if your doctor allows you). Limit alcohol. Even if you're healthy, alcohol can raise your blood pressure. If you choose to drink alcohol, do so in moderation. Don't smoke. Tobacco injures blood vessel walls and speeds up the process of hardening of the arteries. Reduce stress as much as possible. Practice healthy coping techniques, such as muscle relaxation, deep breathing or meditation. Getting regular physical activity and plenty of sleep can help, too. Monitor your blood pressure at home. Medication: Take homoeopathic medicine - Schwabe’s Essentia Aurea/ thrice daily which is a cardio-tonic which helps in maintaining blood pressure, improves muscle tone of the heart and narrowing of blood vessels.

Cocoa butter is famous for its anti-wrinkling and anti-aging properties. It helps in enhancing the blood circulation, which reduces stretch marks. Massage the affected area with cocoa butter at least two times a day. Repeat the process for two months and notice the reduced scars. Else, mix half cup of cocoa butter with one tablespoon of wheat germ oil, one teaspoon of tea kernel oil, two teaspoons of grated beeswax, and vitamin E oil. Heat the mix until the beeswax melts. Apply it on the stretch marks twice or thrice a day. The mixture can be stored in a sealed box in the refrigerator.------------------------------. Physical Exercise One must regularly do physical exercises, like abdominal crunches, sit-ups, swimming, etc. Which tone the underlying muscles and remove the ugly stretch marks. Here are some exercises, which are beneficial to remove stretch marks: Useful Tips •Consume protein, zinc and Vitamin C rich foods in abundance. Green salad, milk, fish, nuts and citrus fruits help a lot in diminishing stretch marks. •Do yoga and other physical exercises on the regular basis. •Pregnant women should not use creams and solutions, prepared from chemicals. Instead of fading away stretch marks, they may result in skin damaging rashes. •Don’t scratch the affected area. •Keep your skin moisturized.---------------------- HOMOEOPATHIC MEDICINE--------------------- SILICEA 6X (Wilmar Schwabe India) Chew 4 tab 3 times daily for 3 months------------- COCOA BUTTER CREAM (BAKSON)

Migraine - How To Deal With It?

MBBS
General Physician, Jalgaon
Migraine - How To Deal With It?

Migraine is the most severe forms of headaches. Migraine attacks usually include nausea, vomiting, and sensitivity to light along with the severe headaches, which are sometimes unbearable. If faced with this condition, there is only one way out to suffer through it, though pain medications do help manage the pain.

Being such a common condition, there is constant research being done about how to help people deal with migraines. In addition to popping pain killers, there is more than what a person can do to reduce the pain.

  1. Identify the triggers: Those who have had migraine for a while would know what triggers the attack. Whether it is chocolates or eggs, get to know what can induce an attack, and if possible, stay away from it.
  2. Stick to a schedule: Whether it is in terms of food or sleep, try and develop a routine and follow it.
  3. Physical workout: Develop an exercise regime to cover at least 30 minutes of physical exercise. Most people see a dramatic difference with a regular exercise routine.
  4. Bid goodbye to smoking: If you are a smoker, work at quitting this habit. It is one of the known triggers and also aggravates regular headaches.
  5. Stress management: Whether you are going through physical or emotional stress, migraine attacks can become more frequent and severe. Manage physical stress by not sitting at the same location for prolonged periods and by doing small exercises to relax the shoulders, knees, and jaws. For emotional stress, identify what helps you relax and follow it. While deep breathing works for some, for others, it could be music. Whatever your relaxation technique may be, ensure that you follow it. Work on improving relationships that stress you out. A regular exercise routine and sleep pattern also helps in reducing physical stress.

Despite these methods, migraine attacks do happen. Follow the next few steps when you know you are getting an attack.

  1. Stop your regular activities and find a calm environment for yourself. Let this place have less of light and sound as they can aggravate migraines.
  2. Sleep if you are able to.
  3. Go for a warm bath if possible.
  4. Try hot or cold compresses, which can numb the senses and reduce the pain.
  5. Have a caffeinated beverage as this will provides relief. Do not have it in excess as you will have hangover effects from the caffeine.
  6. Use only those medications that were prescribed by your doctor. Do not experiment.
  7. Lifestyle changes including exercise, diet, and stress management play a vital role in dealing with migraines.

In case you have a concern or query you can always consult an expert & get answers to your questions!
