It is normal to lose about 30-80 strands of hair in a day. The common reasons behind hair fall are lack of essential nutrients in the body, improper and unhealthy dietary habits, hormonal imbalance, certain medications, dandruff, alopecia and other scalp disorders, stress and tension etc. Natural oils such as coconut, olive, jojoba, almond etc. Can be used to massage the scalp for countering hair fall. Gently massage the scalp prior to head bath twice a week. Also check hemoglobin for anaemia and thyroid status with serum tsh. Have more proteins and trace minerals like copper, zinc, selenium in diet. Start taking a hair nutrition supplement. Keep stress away with regular exercise, yoga, meditation. Get the underlying scalp condition like dandruff treated.

Dear lybrate user, the initial stages of type 2 diabetes & blood pressure are known as pre-diabetes and pre-hypertension. The most important fact one needs to keep in mind is that these are predominantly lifestyle disorders hence one needs to lead a healthy lifestyle in order to prevent these. The following tips could be useful: - Sleep well for at least 6-7 hrs everyday - Eat small meals at regular timings everyday, eat well balanced meals. Do not skip your meals. - Avoid eating outside food very frequently (once a week should be fine) - Reduce the amount of salt you take in a day, and preserved/ processed foods (pickles, papad, ready to eat meals, etc) - Avoid too much of coffee, tea, alcohol and stop smoking or taking tobacco - Exercise everyday starting with 20 mins and increasing it to 1 hr (any form like walking, running, swimming, weight training, or even a mix if fine as long as you do it consistently everyday) - Do not take stress about issues, be positive and try to be happy - In case you have a family history, regular check-ups wih your family physician is preferable Though many of these might seem difficult to follow in one go, but slowly you could adopt these measures, which will help you remain healthy and reduce the likelihood of you developing these cardiovascular disorders. Take care!

You cannot grow hair. Hair growth is natural. Best you can do is take care of your nutrition. Take lot of iron and protein. Control stress, sleep at least 7 to 8 hrs at night. If still problem persists then there are very good medicines in homeopathy for hair loss.

Only exercise doesn't help to loose weight, a balanced diet will help to loose in terms of kilograms! so get a customised diet plan suitable for your body type, and do exercises along with that to get inch loss also.

You are going for Circumcision as your foreskin is very tight. It is a minor operation done under local anesthesia so there is no pain. You can get it done from good government hospital or privately in surgical center. You have to go to surgery OPD in the hospital. It is an half an hour operation you will be discharged on the same day. The cost is around Rs 500 only in good government hospital.

Hi, individual treatment for kidney stones depends on the type of kidney stones that are formed. Firstly, staying well hydrated by drinking enough water is one of the best measures you can take to avoid kidney stones. To lessen your risk of forming a new stone, it is very important that you drink at least three quarts (12 cups) of fluid throughout the day. In hotter weather, you may need to drink more to make up for fluid loss from sweating. This will help keep your urine less concentrated. Less concentrated urine reduces the risk of stone formation. Most of the fluid you drink should be water. Try to drink a glass of water before bed and if you wake during the night to use the bathroom, drink another glass before going back to bed. There are two kinds of stone oxalate stone and calcium stone and treatment is different based on that. Other than this the combination of lemon juice and olive oil is traditionally used as a home remedy to expel gallbladder stones but it can also be used to treat kidney stones. The citric acid present in lemons helps break down calcium-based kidney stones and stops further growth. Take four tablespoons or a quarter cup of fresh lemon juice. Add an equal amount of olive oil. Drink this mixture followed by plenty of water. Do this two to three times a day, up to three days. You need not continue this remedy if you pass the stones in a single dose. Warning: this remedy may not be suitable for passing large kidney stones. Make sure you consult a doctor before taking this remedy. The combination of lemon juice and olive oil is traditionally used as a home remedy to expel gallbladder stones but it can also be used to treat kidney stones. The citric acid present in lemons helps break down calcium-based kidney stones and stops further growth. Take four tablespoons or a quarter cup of fresh lemon juice. Add an equal amount of olive oil. These contain oxalates, which can contribute to future kidney stones. Take medication if suggested by doctor and follow the above along with that. For medication for alcohol consult a psychiatrist and get proper treatment done. All the best.

May be due to digestive disorder. Kindly show me a photograph of the affected part. Rule out diabetes & vit. D deficiency or any other metabolic disorder. Sleep on a hard bed with soft bedding on it. Spring beds, folding beds or thick matress are harmful use no pillow under the head. Do hot fomantation. Paracetamol 250mg od & sos x 5days. Caldikind plus 1tab od x10. Do neck, back & general exercises. It may have to be further investigated. You will need other supportive medicines also. Make sure you are not allergic to any of the medicines you are going to take. If it does not give relief in 4-5days, contact me again. Do not ignore. It could be beginning of a serious problem.

It's body's Natural barrier mechanism to protect you from infectious agents. Nasal hair protect from larger infection causing agents. Like insects which you may not be aware of during your sleep, Dust and Pollen, environmental heat and cold injury of nasal mucosa. So it's better to leave the hair for your protection only. You can trim it when they grow outside but don't try to pluck them or shave them at root.

Your hair needs a high protein well-rounded diet. A strand of hair is composed of mostly protein, which means your hair needs protein to grow. Hair and nails are both protein fibers. Hence a therapeutic diet prescribed by a registered dietitian can help a lot in hair growth. Besides diet excessive stress and some medication are conclusively known to retard hair growth and promote hair loss. - cut down on the use of hair spray, hair gels, and styling creams that contain harsh chemical ingredients, which can dry out the scalp and cause the formation of flakes. Also harsh treatments such as perms, colours, relaxers etc take a toll on the health of your hair. - avoid changing your shampoo and conditioner constantly. Stick to one good mild cleansing shampoo for six months before changing. - excessive exposure to the sun, pollution, rain water and dust without proper protection makes the hair dry, brittle and limp. Living with Grief and Loss - How to Cope With it?

People often experience grief when they lose something special or someone very valuable to them. This feeling of grief and loss tends to have various adverse effects one one’s personality, relationships and health. The effects of grief on a person usually depend on different factors, which include the kind of loss suffered, the person’s beliefs, age and his mental or physical health.

Losing someone makes each one of us in a different way. Anxiety and feeling helpless are two things that mostly affect people. Feelings of anger and anxiety are also experienced in the early stages of coping with loss. The sadness creeps in eventually. Grief and loss can affect a person seriously and cause different health hazards. It is quite difficult for a person to heal instantly and they continue feeling bad for a long period of time. However, one day you will recover for sure.

Here are some ways to cope with grief and loss:

  1. You have to express yourself and share all the feelings bottled inside you. You should talk about your feelings with a close friend or family member. This is the beginning of the healing process.
  2. When you feel sad, you should not try to avoid it. Feeling sad is a healthy part of the process of grieving and instead of hiding the fact that you are sad under a mask, you should allow the sadness.
  3. Try to follow your regular schedule instead of isolating yourself. By following a schedule you will keep yourself active, which will help in healing. You should take walks and not lock yourself up in a room as this will make your condition worse.
  4. Plenty of sleep is required during the healing stage. Emotional strain makes you tired and hence, undisturbed sleep is very much essential for your health. If you do not get proper sleep, consult a doctor.
  5. A healthy, balanced diet is also important for coping with loss and grief. Avoid food that will wear you down. Eat light and healthy and do not skip meals.
  6. You must avoid intake of substances, which help in easing the pain. Do not consume too much alcohol. It may temporarily numb the pain, but afterwards you will feel worse.
  7. Counselling is important after you get through the initial healing stage on your own. After several weeks or a month, you should go to a counselor and have regular therapy sessions. The ideal time to start counselling depends wholly on you and your state.
  8. Antidepressant medicines can also be taken on prescription for feeling better.

Coping with grief and loss is quite a difficult task. A lot of patience is required and instead of giving into sorrow, one must get up and take all steps required for quick recovery. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a doctor and ask a free question.

you can take(If No drug allergy) : 1. Tablet Crocin (Paracetamol 500 mg) one tablet after food when required for headache after food for 2-3 days (maximum 2 tablets with gap of 12 hour can be taken in a day) And for cough cold If symptoms are sneezing, running nose, blocked nose 1. Take proper rest/ lot of fluids 2. Take proper home made diet. 3. The news of pregnancy can be one of the best news in a couple’s lifetime. However, where this news does not arrive, it can turn very stressful. Whatever the reasons, if a couple has been trying to have a baby and are not able to, it can be very strenuous. However, statistics reveal that most couples take four to six months to conceive. Some couples even take up to two years.

Lifestyles are changing and there are a lot of factors, which determine the ability of a couple to conceive. There could be issues with either of the couple, and sometimes it might not even be an actual issue, but only psychological barriers hampering the health of the relationship.

Some common conditions that can contribute to the couple not conceiving include endometriosis, ovarian issues, polycystic ovaries, hormonal imbalances, medical illnesses, etc. A few common remedies can be tried first, before reaching out for professional help.

  1. Using lubricants without spermicide topical agents may be used, but some of them could contain chemicals, which are spermicides and reduce the sperm count. This needs to be ruled out before investigating the cause for infertility.
  2. Vitamin B6 helps in the luteal phase, which is from the time of ovulation to menstruation. Zinc also plays a vital role in pregnancy and conception, and so it is advisable to take these supplements when trying to get pregnant.
  3. Weight management, quit smoking, improved hydration, general detoxification, dietary changes, adequate hours of sleep are some changes that can immensely benefit.
  4. An ovulation predictor kit and trying to conceive around that time also increases chances of conception.
  5. For a woman who is 35 years or younger, conception should happen in about four to six months’ time. If not, it is time to see a doctor to see what is preventing pregnancy.

Some of the other conditions, which would require a visit to the doctor are as follows:

  1. Consumption of regular asthma medications
  2. Diabetic patients
  3. Epilepsy patients
  4. Chronic smoker
  5. Underweight or overweight women
  6. Diagnosed endometriosis
  7. History of polycystic ovaries
  8. Fibroids
  9. History of irregular periods or other menstrual disorders
  10. History of thyroid disease, especially hypothyroidism, which is one of the main contributing reasons for infertility. Quite often, treating the thyroid levels can lead to pregnancy
  11. History of sexually transmitted disease like chlamydia
  12. History of sexual hormonal imbalance
  13. History of prolonged use of birth control pills

If there is no underlying medical issue, it will happen, don’t be anxious. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a gynaecologist.

: Keep your leg raised while sitting or lying Quadriceps strengthening exercises- Quad Clenches: Lie flat on your back or sit upright on a chair with leg kept horizontally on another surface. Now, tighten the muscle on the front of the thigh by pushing your knee down. You should feel your thigh muscles clench, Hold for 3 secs. Repeat 10 times twice a day. Short Arcs: Lie flat on your back or sit upright with your leg placed horizontally on a flat surface like a chair or bed. Place a rolled up towel under the knee. Pull your toes towards you and clench you thigh muscles. Slowly lift your foot up off the bed until your knee is straight (keep your knee resting on the towel). Hold for 3 secs and slowly lower them on the chair. Repeat 10 times twice a day. Straight Leg Raise: Lie flat on your back. One leg and knee will be straight and other leg should be bent. Pull your toes towards you and tighten/clench the muscle on the front of the thigh, locking your knee straight. Lift your foot up in the air, about 6 inches off the bed. Hold for 3 secs and slowly lower the leg. The knee must remain straight the whole time you are doing this exercise. Hamstring stretchingTowel Hamstring Stretch Lie on the back, supporting the thigh with the hand or with a towel wrapped around it. Slowly straighten the knee until a stretch is felt in the back of the thigh, trying to get the bottom of the foot to face the ceiling, one leg at a time. Hold the position initially for 10 seconds, and gradually work up to 20 to 30 seconds.
