What are the symptoms of cancer and what to troubleshoot measures can be adopted?

Fellow Breast Surgery (MUHS), DNB (General Surgery), MBBS
Oncologist, Aurangabad
Hello lybrate-user. Your question is important but a lil vague. I would see to it tht I help you as much as possible through my answer. Cancer can cause symptoms because of two things. Either due the under functioning of an organ where the cancer has started (local) or due to under functioning of an organ where the cancer has spread (distant) or some generalized complaints. Local complaints depend on organ involved. For the organs which are beneath skin it usually presents as lump. Like breast cancer, thyroid cancer, cancers of soft tissue, etc. When the organ is deep seated it mainly interferes with its primary functions and hence the symptoms. For example, stomach cancer will cause indigestion, heaviness in upper abdomen, bloody vomitus or black stools. Cancer of intestine will cause change in bowel habits or bleeding in stools. Liver cancer may cause jaundice. Brain tumor can cause vomiting, fits. Headaches, etc. A complete picture is quite big and out of scope for this communication. Distant spread usually causes problems based on organ involved, similar to local. But possibility of multiple sites involved at the same time remains high. Bone spread causes excess unressolving pains or fractures. Spread to lung can cause cough and blood in sputum. And so on. Some general complaints are, weight loss, loss of appetite, fatigue and looking pale. Most, if not all, oral cancers are caused by tobacco chewing. Cancer of cervix, a part of uterus is caused by infection with human papilloma virus, which spreads with unprotected sexual contact. These two are preventable cancers. Rest of the cancers are not preventable per se. But if detected early can be taught well. Early detection solely depends on being aware of cancers common to one's age group and respect any unusual change in body habit which persists for long. So. Eat healthy, drink loads of healthy liquids, breathe loads of fresh air with the help of pranayam, exercise well and regular. Which will help keeping cancer a little away and at the same time, if unfortunately this unpredictable guest makes an appearance, a good health is important to sustain the treatments, helping one to get disease free as fast and as long as possible. Thanks.

I am suffering from Prostate Cancer, had Orchidectomy 2years back, PSA came down from 549 t0n 0.6. And increasing now...
Well in plain terms the answer is no. The treatment you r undergoing is mainly meant to slow down the growth or progress of your cancer but not cure it. You haven't undergone any curative procedure like radical prostatectomy. So cancer still stays and it will spread with time. Anyways you should consult your urosurgeon. You may undergo radiotherapy as it may help in bone mets.

Hi , I appreciate you seeking help. Well, weight loss, weakness, anorexia, ascitis, edema etc all are seen in liver cancer. Your low appetite, and hence the associated weight loss, may be because of the side effect of present medication as well. You can check with your oncologist / physician on the same too. In general, however, I would advise that you try having multiple small meals than three larger ones. Should your health permit, you can also go for some gentle yet safe exercises (like walking) which is likely to help too. Try have healthy and balanced meals that suit your taste, and also have it in a relaxed environment. You may listen to music or watch your favorite TV program while taking your food. You can connect with me with all relevant diagostics & treatment history to help you out specifically with safe natural medications that can ameliorate your present heath concerns. Hope this helps. Do take care, and all the very best. Sincerely,

How To Prevent Sagging of Breasts?

How To Prevent Sagging of Breasts?

How to prevent sagging of breasts?

Home remedies for sagging breasts

Breast sagging is a natural process that happens with age wherein the breasts lose their suppleness and elasticity. Breasts do not have muscle. They are made of fat, connective tissues and milk-producing glands, and they need proper care to keep them in good shape.

Yoga

The benefits of yoga for the entire body have been widely studied, and it is primarily a mechanism of toning the body and increasing flexibility. Some of that toning can occur within the breast, depending on which positions you commonly practice.

Massage

Massage your breasts at least 2-3 times per week with olive oil. It will help add firmness to the skin as well as improve the skin tone and texture. It will also tone your chest and increase the elasticity of the skin.

Pomegranate

Pomegranate is considered a wonderful anti-aging ingredient and can help prevent sagging breasts. Pomegranate seed oil is rich in phyto-nutrients that can lead to firm breasts.

Make a paste of pomegranate peel and some warm mustard oil. Use it to massage your breasts in a circular motion for 5 to 10 minutes daily before going to bed.
You can also use pomegranate seed oil to massage your breasts 2 or 3 times daily.
Another option is to mix 4 teaspoons of neem oil with 1 teaspoon of dried and powdered pomegranate rind. Heat this mixture for a few minutes. Allow it to cool and then use it to massage your breasts twice daily for several weeks.

Avoid loose fitting bra / wrong bra size

Some women feel that they would feel comfortable if they wear loose bra. But this is totally a wrong step. You are going to invite your saggy breast by doing this. Avoid this and go for the best fitting bra to keep your breast stay upright and firm. For more details visit us at www.malhotraayurveda.in

What is the primary structure of cancer, how a man know this and probably of male breast cancer?

DNB, MBBS
Oncologist, Faridabad
Cancer may affect any and every organ of the body. Breast nodules or lumps are the usual presentation in males and need to be evaluated by clinical examination and biopsy. Males cancers are easily picked as they are superficial and easily identified by simple self examination.

I have limps in my both the breast. Non cancerous lumps. I've consulted cancer specialist. And have been operated once. This is the second time. And is going through homeopathic treatment which is not helping me out. Any other way which you can suggest I shall treat them? And why are these lumps happening? The reasons? Can you suggest somethings else den operating please?

Fellowship in Indian Association of Gastrointestinal Endo-Surgeons, Fellowship in Minimal Access Surgery, M.S. - Master of Surgery, MBBS
General Surgeon, Delhi
If the lumps are non cancerous and are not growing in size or no. Then there is nothing to worry. There are certain medicines in allopathy which can be helpful which any surgeon can prescribe after examining you. If there is no relief with medicines then surgery is the option. The reason for this is usually hormonal changes which occur during this time in a girls life.

DNB, MBBS
Oncologist, Faridabad
What is the status of disease after surgery? I mean histopathology and ca 125 levels. She may need more chemotherapy if cardiac conditions permit. She needs regular follow up after treatment to know about its cure. Treatment is correct as per the standard guide lines.
