My mom is 48 years old. She had small black dots on her both cheeks some years back. Now from a year its spread so much. She is a vegetarian. She does’t eat egg as well. She is always tied up with house work. She also has a lot of grey hair. Because of the black dots and grey hair she always looks pale and tired. Black dots in this age is due to hormonal changes. It is called melesma. Give her more protein diet like sprouts, soyabin egg etc. And milk every day for calcium. Tell her to do daily half an hour walking or yoga and pranayama. For faster result we have homoeopathic medicines and creams which are more suitable and harmless treatment for melesma.

Tips for keeping normal blood pressure

Exercise. One reason exercise is so effective at controlling blood pressure is because it stimulates your body to release a substance called nitric acid. Nitric acid causes blood vessels to open up, which reduces blood pressure. Exercise also helps to strengthen your heart muscle, reduce stress, and aid weight loss.

Lose excess weight. There's no getting around the fact that blood pressure goes up as the pounds pile on. Being overweight increases your risk for heart disease and diabetes, too. Losing even 10 pounds can start to make your blood pressure go back down.

Eat healthily. Eating the right type of diet can lower your risk for high blood pressure or help you return to normal blood pressure. Clinical studies show that a diet high in fruits, vegetables, low-fat dairy, whole grains, poultry, fish, and nuts really works. You also need to avoid fats, red meat, and excess sugar.

Shake the salt habit. Your body only needs about 500 milligrams of salt a day, but if you are like the average american you may be consuming up to 9, 000 mg a day. Studies show that high salt leads to high blood pressure. Current recommendations are to limit salt intake to 2, 400 mg per day, the equivalent of about one teaspoon.

Put the brakes on smoking and drinking. These are two other bad habits to avoid if you want to keep a normal blood pressure. Alcohol raises blood pressure and adds empty calories. A safe amount of alcohol is only one drink a day for women and two for men. Smoking is not safe in any amount. Nicotine causes blood vessels to constrict and that raises blood pressure. Quitting will also lower your risk of cancer and heart disease.
The only way to know if you have high blood pressure or normal blood pressure is to have a blood pressure reading done by a trained healthcare provider. The american heart association recommends a blood pressure reading at least once every two years. If you have had a recent blood pressure reading and you have normal blood pressure, don't take it for granted. Remember hypertension is a common and sometimes silent killer. Push yourself away from the computer, turn off the television, get active, eat your fruits and vegetables, and kick any bad habits.

First you need to under stand some thing that the height a person attains is mostly decided right from the time a person is born, by his genetics. Height is mostly hereditary and a persons height is determined by the height of the father or mother. Still some inches of growth is possible by taking some healthy steps which you should always try. Try taking a healthy food and never skip a break fast. Sleep adequately. Growth hormone is released at night in sleep and you should give sufficient time to sleep. Do regular exercise. Preferably stretching exercises like skipping, hanging from the bar or standing tall on ones toes. Also sports such as badminton and basketball also increases the height. Adequate weight control is essential to divert your energy to increase in height. You can try all of them regularly and just hope for the best. Don't fall for all the super natural remedies claiming to increase height in 2-3 weeks.

Hello Rachita ji, it may gas distention trouble due to indigestion. have simple bland food (Khichadi) for next few days avoiding junk, oily, spicy fried and deep-fried food items. drink lot of water. Add Jeera, Ajwain, Sonth in ur food items – these herbs prevent gas formation. Reduce intake of tea – coffee. Instead u can have green tea. dont lye-down or sit immediately after having meals. have a walk instead. maintain good bowel habits. Have more of Coconut Water, Gulkand etc to relieve acidity, Avoid too much of Cauliflower, Peas, Brinjals, Namkeens as snacks etc. Do regular walking and mild exercises. You may also do a weekly fast – just to relax and calm down ur system. Hello Doctors, We have got blood sugar report of our son (3.2 years) today and his random sugar has come up as 102 and HbA1c come up as 5.6, what should we do now, is it to be worried? I read beyond 5.6 considered as pre-diabetic. Can it be reversed back to normal value? Earlier couple of months back he had got fever with WBC 17K+, as of today his WBC 13400 and Platelet become 552000. Is that the case behind high HbA1c?

Mr. lybrate-user, Thanks for the query. The blood glucose level and HbA1c% mentioned are in the pre-diabetes range. Howevr, there is no immediate reason to worry. Following are a few things which you should do: 1)get a fasting and after food blood glucose levels done. 2) Get a C- peeptide level checked to find out his insulin secretion level, 3) Avoid giving pastries, bread, colas and other sugary drinks containing fructose corn syrup. Encourage a lot of activity in the child. Thanks.

It is not sperm but semen that comes out and the amount is not to be worried. It is not related to hair loss and is safe.

Not really, high uric acid is itself is not a big problem. 'Lasi' part in lasilactone (furosemide) can increase uric acid a bit. I will only worry if he had gout. Slightly higher uric acid might also be due to poor diet and exercise, rather than drug alone. Sometimes other diseases like diabetes can also cause increase uric acid. Show a Rheumatologist if in doubt. Read about 'gout and matchstick analogy' that might explain a lot of things to you. Best wishes for your father.

Do not use extra salt in your food as higher values of sodium (from salt) than the recommended daily value can lead to hair loss. Also, always use iodized salt. Iodine is an important nutrient for hair growth. Sea food is also a good and natural source of iodine.

It is  that most wrinkles are caused by the sun and only a small part is caused by the skin aging. Getting wrinkles is also affected by the habits we have. Habits indeed play a vital role in the same.

Sun protection is the most important thing one must to if you want to fight wrinkles. The UV rays are responsible for the breakage of the structure of the skin. The basic structure of the skin is broken layer by layer starting from collagen, elastin and the epidermis thereby giving rise to wrinkles. Some people have are prone to UV damage genetically and it is because of the ethnicity and the skin pigments. 

A given ethnic skin might vary how the structural damage occurs when UV exposure is given. The wrinkles from the sun and those by aging can be easily distinguished. The skin in the under surface of the arm which is mostly sun protected is different from the skin in the upper arm. Also, skin of the breast is different from the V of the chest which is exposed to the sun.

Here are 5 wrinkle forming habits you need to ditch:

  1. Not using sunscreen: One cannot escape the sun and the only way to do it and enjoy the sun is to wear sunscreen. It should be applied daily especially on the face where the skin is thin and delicate.
  2. Squinting: Squinting in the sun is a bad idea and this usually happens when you are not wearing glasses. Next time before stepping out in the sun make sure to wear the glasses as they protect the eyes and will not cause furrow between the brow and the crow's feet.
  3. Not moisturizing enough: If a good moisturizer is not used then it leads to crinkles in the skin which are wrinkles deep under the skin. Crinkles can be reversed if a moisturizer is used followed with exfoliation of the dead cells. Start moisturizing as all skin types from dry to oily need it.
  4. Smoking: This is bad not only for health, but also for the skin. Tobacco and other chemicals in cigarettes can lead to damage of the skin's fiber and elastin. Smoking also restricts the blood flow, thereby making it difficult for the oxygen and nutrients to stay in the skin.
  5. Pursing the lips: Regular sipping drinks through straws, cigarettes and sour expressions can all lead to wrinkling around mouth. Even though it is a gradual process, it is going to leave a mark. Say bye to pursing of the lips to get rid of unnecessary wrinkling.

Tape a piece of banana peel, inner side down, over the wart before you go to bed. A chemical in the peel can slowly dissolve the wart. Or, try the same with a piece of lemon peel. An oil in the peel seems to discourage warts.
