Hi many adolescents go through the same situation as you are in now. It is the effect of hormones occurring at this age. But this is the exact age to make our career also. In fact this is the time to decide and implement what your goal of life is'girl things' will happen frequently in future also. But time to make your career won't come back. This is not a disease but distraction. You seem to be intelligent boy as you understand the importance of studies and so you are asking how to focus. Your this determination to focus on studies and not to fall pray to distractions will help you. Set your goal. Any time distraction comes remind yourself of it. By disiplining the mind you will be able to concentrate better. When we are walking the stray cats come to us to ask for food if you will give them they will cling on to you. If you will ignore then they won't bother you. Remember to walk your path and ignore'catwalk' you can do it. Take care be happy!

I am 32 years old married male I and my wife want a baby. After 1st month of our marriage she was pregnant we did medical abortion at home by consultation with doctor and took pills unwanted kit. Now its 1 year we want to have a baby. Last month we tried but this month she had period. Is there a problem? What to do please help me. You are unnecessarily getting anxious. You both are young. There is on need to worry. If seeing a doctor helps you woth your anxiery then You may just go and consult a family physician to make sure your general health is okay. You have only tried once. Keep trying and soon you will succeed. Below are some tips for both your wife and you. Happy trying. Remember the more you are relax while having sex the better your chances. So enjoy and learn some scientific ways to increase your chances to get pregnant. For wife--- When you're trying to conceive, eat nutritious foods, maintain a healthy weight, get regular exercise, and try to kick any bad habits such as drinking or smoking. Limit your caffeine intake to less than 200 milligrams a day. Any more than that may contribute to fertility problems. The biggest secret to getting pregnant quickly is knowing when you ovulate (release an egg from your ovary). You ovulate only once each menstrual cycle, and there are just a few days during that time when it's possible to conceive. Knowing when you ovulate means that you and your partner can time intercourse to have the best chance of getting pregnant that cycle. You can use a few different methods to figure out when you ovulate. Google will help you with the tools to figure out your ovulation cycle. Once you know the timeframe your egg is likely to be released from your ovary, you can plan to have sex during your most fertile days, which is usually about three days before ovulation through the day you ovulate. You have a range of days for baby-making sex because sperm can survive for three to six days in your body. Where as your egg survives for only about a day. That means if you have sex on Sunday, sperm can survive in your fallopian tubes until Wednesday – or even as late as Saturday. If you're not sure when your fertile period will be, just have sex every other day. This means you'll have healthy sperm in your fallopian tubes whenever your egg gets released. Sperm have the best shot of fertilizing an egg when they're healthy, strong, and plentiful. Your husband can do several things to help: Cut back on alcohol. Studies show that drinking daily can lower testosterone levels and sperm counts, increasing the number of abnormal sperm. Skip chewing  tobacco and smoking. These can cause poor sperm function. Try to maintain a healthy weight. Obesity can lower sperm count and slow down sperm. Get enough of certain key nutrients – like zinc, folic acid, calcium, and vitamins C and D – that help create strong and plentiful sperms.  Hope this helps Wishing you very best.

Suffering unwanted anxiety is very much prevalent nowadays! It is common complaint that" I Suffer from anxiety. Please help me" Anxiety is a very normal emotion, which gives rise to feelings of nervousness every now and then. An anxiety disorder is a serious medical condition in which people experience a high degree of distress and mental trauma, which hinders a normal life. People suffering from this medical condition experience high levels of anxiety and nervousness almost all the time. Here are the cardinal symptoms that indicate you're suffering from anxiety disorder. 1. Troublesome & Excess worry - This condition prevails if you worry about the day to day activities too much on a regular basis. It is identified when you start taking too much stress about very common and routine things, related to life or work which tends to affect you in an adverse way. A noticeable sign of excessive worry can be too much fatigue. 2. Lack of Sleep/irregular, disturbed sleep - Problems in falling asleep at the right time and problems in maintaining an uninterrupted sleep are two signs that indicate you have an anxiety disorder. 3. Baseless / Irrational fears - This symptom is not generalized; instead, it is specific and subjective in relation to a particular thing or situation. The fears that are experienced under this category are sudden and unexpected in nature and there is no fixed rationale behind these fears. One may ear of death or accident or fall from a plane and so on. 4. Muscle pain - Muscle discomfort and pain is one of the leading physiological causes of an anxiety disorder. The pain felt is chronic and pervasive, and is very common among people facing situations of anxiety. If you are exposed to constant periods of anxiety, you will experience fatigue, muscle pains and lethargy or unwillingness to work. 5. Unexplained indigestion - Problems related to the digestive system are also a sign of anxiety disorder. In this case, you may face constant digestive problems accompanied by a common disorder called IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome). IBS refers to an anxiety situation in the digestive tract, which is characterized by sudden urge to defecate on eating, stomach aches, cramping, bloating, gas, constipation, and/or diarrhoea. Apart from the above-mentioned symptoms, other symptoms of an anxiety disorder include stage fright, self- consciousness, panic attacks, memory flashbacks, perfectionism, compulsive behaviours, self- doubt, and such others. Symptoms vary depending on the type of anxiety disorder, but general symptoms include: • Feelings of panic, fear, and uneasiness. • Problems sleeping. • Cold or sweaty hands and/or feet. • Shortness of breath. • Heart palpitations. • An inability to be still and calm. • Dry mouth. • Numbness or tingling in the hands or feet. Anxiety is a normal, predictable part of life. However, people with an anxiety disorder are essentially phobic about anxiety feeling. And they’ll go to any lengths to avoid it. Some people experience generalized anxiety disorder (GAD), excessive anxiety about real-life concerns, such as money, relationships, health and academics, Others struggle with social anxiety, and worry about being evaluated or embarrassing themselves. People with obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD) might become preoccupied with symmetry or potential contamination. The bottom line is that people can experience anxiety, and anxiety disorders, related to just about anything. Most of these steps contribute to a healthy and fulfilling life, overall. To sum up, making some basic lifestyle changes can do wonders for someone coping with elevated anxiety. Take these steps from today. 1. Take a deep breath. Deep diaphragmatic breathing triggers our relaxation response, switching from our fight-or-flight response of the sympathetic nervous system, to the relaxed, balanced response of our parasympathetic nervous system, according to, clinical psychologists, who have suggested the following exercise, which you can repeat several times: #Inhale slowly to a count of four, starting at your belly and then moving into your chest. Gently hold your breath for four counts. Then slowly exhale to four counts. 2 Be active. One of the most important things one can do to cope with anxiety] is to get regular cardiovascular exercise,” For instance, a brisk 30- to 60-minute walk “releases endorphins that lead to a reduction in anxiety.” You can start today by taking a walk. Or create a list of physical activities that you enjoy, and put them on your schedule for the week. Other options include: running, rowing, rollerblading, hiking, biking, dancing, swimming, surfing, step aerobics, kickboxing and sports such as soccer, tennis and basketball, in short just anything you can do to be physically active 3. Sleep well. Not getting enough sleep can trigger anxiety. If you’re having trouble sleeping, tonight, engage in a relaxing activity before bedtime, such as taking a warm bath, listening to soothing music or taking several deep breaths and meditation is excellent .If you’re like many people with anxiety whose brains start buzzing right before bed, jot down your worries earlier in the day for 10 to 15 minutes, or try a mental exercise like thinking of fruits with the same letter. 4. Fight an anxious thought. We all have moments wherein we unintentionally increase or maintain our own worry by thinking unhelpful thoughts. These thoughts are often unrealistic, inaccurate, or, to some extent, unreasonable. Thankfully, we can change these thoughts. The first step is to identify them. Consider how a specific thought affects your feelings and behaviours. Is it helpful or unhelpful? These are the types of thoughts you want to challenge. Therefore it is suggested asking yourself: “Is this worry real?” “Is this going to happen?” “If the worst possible outcome happens, what would be so bad about that?” “Could I handle that?” “What might I do?” “If something bad happens, what might that mean to me?” “Is this really true or does it just seem so. Then, reframe or correct that thought to make it more accurate, realistic and more adaptive. For example: “I would feel embarrassed if I tripped on the stage, but that’s just a feeling; and it won't last forever, and I would get through it.” 5. Say an encouraging statement. Positive, accurate statements can help to put things into perspective. See these examples: “Anxiety is just a feeling, like any other feeling.” and “This feels bad, but I can use some strategies to cope with it.” 6. Stay connected to others. Social support is vital to managing stress, Today, call a loved one, schedule to go to lunch with a close friend. Talking with others can do a world of good. Another option is to get together and engage in an activity that improves your anxiety, such as taking a walk, sitting on the beach or going to a yoga class. 7. Avoid Alcohol and caffeine. Managing anxiety is as much about what you do as what you don’t do. And there are some substances that exacerbate anxiety. Caffeine/alcohol is one of those substances. The last thing people with anxiety need is a substance that makes them feel more turned on, which is exactly what caffeine/alcohol does. 8. Avoid mood changing drugs. “While drugs and alcohol might help to reduce anxiety in the short term, they often do just the opposite in the long term,” Even the short-term effect can be harmful. Experts have treated countless clients whose first panic attack occurred while they were taking drugs such as marijuana, ecstasy or LSD. “Panic attacks are bad enough if you are straight and sober, so imagine how bad they are if you are high, and can’t get untied until the drug wears off.” 9. Do something you enjoy. Engaging in enjoyable activities helps to soothe your anxiety. For instance, today, you might take a walk, listen to music or read a book, 10. Take a break. It’s also helpful to build breaks into your day. As it is said, this might be a “simple change of pace or scenery, enjoying a hobby, or switching ‘to-do’ tasks.” “Breaking from concerted effort can be refreshing.” 11. Solve Problem It is suggested considering how you can address the stressors that are causing your anxiety. Today, make a list of these stressors and next to each one, jot down one or two solutions. 12. Read a book. There are many valuable resources on anxiety, which teach you effective coping skills. Some recommended are Dying of Embarrassment for people with social anxiety; The BDD Workbook for body dysmorphic disorder; The Imp of the Mindand The OCD Workbook for obsessive-compulsive disorder. And It is suggested "Stop Obsessing" for adults with OCD (and Up and Down the Worry Hill for kids with OCD). For people with panic attacks, it is suggested Don’t Panic: Taking Control of Anxiety Attacks. For a general overview of cognitive-behavioural therapy for anxiety, 13. Engage in calming practices. “Meditation, yoga, or other calming practices can help minimize anxiety in both the short and long term.” Sign up for a yoga class or watch a yoga video online. Meditate right now for just three minutes and do for yoga 14. Consult a therapist. Sometimes anxiety can be difficult to manage without professional help, Many organizations include databases of providers who specialize in anxiety (along with helpful information). 15. Accept your anxiety. If you really want to effectively manage your anxiety, the key is to accept it, “This might sound strange. But anxiety, “in and of itself,” isn’t the real problem. Instead, it’s our attempts at controlling and eliminating it, not accepting these unwanted inner experiences is the actual source of self-induced suffering.” Accepting anxiety doesn’t mean “resigning" ourselves to a life of anxious misery. It simply means that we are better off recognizing and fully accepting the existence of anxiety and other uncomfortable emotional states that are inevitable, but transitory. So if you experience anxiety today, simply observe it. “Think of it like a wave of the ocean; allow it to come in, experience it, and ride it out.” Anxiety can feel overwhelming. It can feel like chains around your feet, weighing you down. But by taking small steps – like the ones above – you can minimize your anxiety and cope effectively. Have A peaceful life ahead.

Alcohol increases desire but decreases the performance. Regular use of wine cause many neuro-chemical imbalances in body including decreasing levels of vitamin b6 - b 12. Besides this, it causes lots of harm to our mind and body. It affects our central nervous system, liver, cardiovascular system, reproduction etc. So you should be strongly determined to leave alcohol. You should consult a local psychiatrist / de addiction center for further counselling / detoxification/ and maintenance of abstinence.

You have full life ahead for sex after marriage but only next 5-7 years to shape up years carrie In order to control your urge for sex, these are some of the things you can do: To curb your sexual desires, you have to do more to think less. Channel all those feelings into something that will keep your mind off sex and then, get busy. You can read books, go out with friends, watch movies, learn new things etc. Transfer your urges into something you have always wanted to do. At the end of the day, you would have successfully managed not to think about sex and you will also be satisfied at the things you did. If one of those hobbies trigger a sexual response in you and you are feeling aroused, do not masturbate. Think of non-sexual images or take a long walk Engage your body in exercise that will keep you busy and keep you from feeling frustrated from not having sex. You can jog in the morning, swim or hit the gym. You can also try yoga and other exercise that will help stimulate both mind and body. In order to control your sexual urge, you should enter into a relationship with no sex. If you wonder what you both will do without the sex, there are countless things couples can do to bond like going on a field trip together, taking up a joint hobby, learning new things together. Far from what most people think, you can have a very satisfying relationship without sex If you feel like you can’t control it all by yourself, you can talk to your doctor, pastor, parents, close relative or friends. Sometimes, having someone to talk to about how you feel helps better than trying to curb it all by yourself. Who knows, the person you want to meet may have had difficulty curbing his own desires too. What then is better than learning from someone’s experience. Don’t be shy or scared of being judged.- Get spiritual help that engages your mind in spiritual activities that are far from sex. Being around people pursuing the same goal as you, especially in chastity can also be a strong supportive measure. That way you have someone holding your hands all the way. Not at all. Sex is something that is sacred and must be had ideally in a committed situation. I know I sound old fashioned but if you do have sex just like that it is quite a disrespect to the girl and to sex. If you ever get married later, you will have nothing new to offer in the legally permissible situation! So it is up to you to either listen to me or go your own way but if you regard this person, then you will not even put her under any pressure. Even if both of you want it, it is not advised. That is why you should never put yourselves in a situation where this becomes possible and tempting.

I think you have an emotional eating disorder. You need to identify the emotion that is behind the excessive eating: are you sad, angry, afraid or happy that you tend to want to eat every time? When you have done that it is as simple as addressing the feeling that feeds into the over-eating and you will cease to have a problem. This can be done with a counselor, ideally. Many of us over-eat when emotionally distraught. I don't know if you are over-weight and for some people weight gain is an effect of the depression. Apart from that it is likely that your metabolism might have reduced considerably making you susceptible to gain weight even with small quantities of food. If you still want to eat (I mean healthy food of course), you can consume more, if you did some noteworthy exercise, after getting approval from your doctor. Exercise boosts your metabolic rate and help produce anti-depressant quite naturally. Foods also boost metabolism: egg whites, lean meat, water, chili peppers, coffee, green tea, milk, whole grains, and lentils. Cucumber is a zero calorie food and takes long to digest and much metabolism too. If you have it before each meal and any amount too, it will curb the amount of consumption - even tea and coffee has that effect. Even so, the addictive aspect of eating involves the obsession and compulsion i.e. your mind will be always thinking about food and then it will feed into a compulsion to consume something. So, if you occupy yourself, (not busy) then the mind will not think too much on food and therefore it will negate the compulsion.

Fear of Dirt or Contamination - Can it be a Sign of OCD?

Obsessive compulsive disorder is a condition, which is characterized by a constant occurrence of compulsive behavior and obsessive thoughts. People across all ages are affected by this condition; in some cases, it might start early whereas, in others, it develops around the early years of childhood. This is a very distressing condition as it can cause significant interference in your daily life. It is recommended to get it treated at the earliest to manage its symptoms effectively.

Symptoms

Obsessive compulsive disorder causes an obsession about an unwanted (forbidden or unfounded) thought, urge or an image. This obsession may result in disgust, unease and feelings of anxiety. A compulsion is defined as a certain behavior that is usually repetitive, something that you tend to do over and over again to get rid of the constant anxiety. An example would be to constantly check the windows of the house resulting from an uncorroborated fear that the house may be burgled.

The causes of obsessive compulsive disorder are:

  1. Chemical imbalances in the brain marked by low serotonin levels
  2. Family history of OCD
  3. People who are meticulous, neat and methodical might develop OCD
  4. Certain traumatic events such as having been bullied or abused can also cause OCD

Treatment

There are multiple treatment options. The aim of the treatments is to manage the symptoms and improve the quality of life. The treatments are:

  1. Medications: Certain antidepressants that alter the chemical imbalance in the brain can treat OCD.
  2. Psychological therapy: Counselling or cognitive behavioral therapy is very effective in treating OCD. Cognitive behavioral therapy aims to modify one’s thinking pattern and get rid of unnecessary fears and thoughts. I am good looking but still I don't know why I always feel I am not looking good, always compare myself with others and feel jealous, nervousness, hesitation. Then automatically my body starts sweating which looks ugly and at the same time I feel like my body becoming heavy. You are indeed unique and there is no one who is going to be like you, ever! You have a problem of self-acceptance, and if I may venture to say may be a rejection issue. This latter may have happened due to an actual rejection which you may have experienced very early in your life. The solution to this is a matter of genuine self-acceptance or self-love. I am not talking about narcissism: this is a genuine love of yourself. It is not based on your appearance alone. You must work on developing yourself in five areas: the physical fitness, emotional fitness, intellectual fitness, social fitness and spiritual fitness. I would also suggest you attend a good personality development program, a speech training course (I suggest the Toastmasters Club), a conversation and elocution course, and to do a personal grooming course too. Education is very good to boost self-confidence, and together with that if you develop socializing skills, you will make it big. Meet with a counselor and ask to be trained in handling emotions, and that will just take you places. Read a lot and meet lots of people, even if you feel too conscious: in time you will get out of this backwardness very well. Do physical fitness exercises regularly. Ultimately, if you believe in God, you will know that you are so precious to Him that no one else’s opinion or acceptance is as important as His. Your life will change phenomenally!

Then the diagnosis may not be depression, since the results with antidepressants are excellent, rarely we see resistant depression. Get a 2nd opinion from another psychiatrist, and get evaluated in detail.

Consummation of marriage is an essential and integral part of completion of marital agreement. Avoiding sexual contact with a married partner may have several implications and reasons thereof. This may start with a partner specific reason to altered sexual preferences too. A 5 year marriage is too long a time to consider anticipatory fear and anxiety as a reason to avoid sex. It is always worthwhile to report such a thing to your doctor, discuss the problems with a sexual counsellor, psychiatrist if needed, to sort out the issues completely.
