I am suffering from coughing from the past 25 days. I visited general physician twice and they prescribed levofloaxin 500 along with crocin for 8 days and mc berry syrup for 10 days but it did not help much. Except that I already completed two cough syrups kasaamrit and benadryl. Doctor says my chest is clear the cough is due to throat. I am taking homeo medicine from past 10 days though it ahs reduced the cough severity to almost half but still it has not gone. It was a wet cough earlier nw its dry. Is there something to worry since I am breastfeeding mom.

It is unlikely due to sinus issues having such feeling in the neck. For thyroid issues get TSH done. Since you can breathe easily and swallow well so nothing to worry. Still you can get a neck MRI scan done to rule out any swelling inside the neck.

Hi. I understand your concerns. You might be having allergic rhinitis and asthma. You will need to undergo a detailed examination and investigations. You will need to undergo pulmonary function test which is needed for diagnosis and also to assess severity of asthma based on which treatemnt can be started. Consult a pulmonologist for the same. Hope your questions were answered. Thanks.

I don't know if I am allergic to something. I am suffering from kinda dry cough from past 6 months. I have tried natural remedies and consulted couple of doctors but still I have the same problem. I want some advise from the doctors if I have to consult a good ent specialist. I feel something is itchy in my throat.

MD - Pharmacology, ECFMG certified , MBBS

In addition to the tests mentioned in the previous response, also get a sputum test for AFB (I realise that you mentioned dry cough but there are ways to induce sputum and if available the first sputum sample after waking up in the morning is best ) The possible causes could be allergic cough, Pulmonary eosinophilia, TB, Asthma, GERD etc.
