Dear user, you should not eat any food which leads to more heat production in your body like dates, dry fruits etc till you get rid of ulcers. You should only take soft foods and cool them before eating.Consume more of water daily.Take vitamin b complex tablet daily and do not consume fried and spicy food.

Sir in my left jaw a teeth is under pain for about 50 days I am very tied by this problem.

MDS - Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery
Dentist, Chennai
Sir in my left jaw a teeth is under pain for about 50 days I am very tied by this problem.
Kindly consult an Oral & maxillofacial surgeon in person for further suggestion. We need more investigations (full mouth x-ray, TMJ open & closed mouth) & clinical examination to decide upon treatment. Until then have soft diet. Replace posterior teeth if they are missing. Advise mouth opening exercise & side to side movement for the jaw muscles or the use of anti-inflammatory medicines and painkillers. For people who grind their teeth or clench their jaw, a bite-appliance may be made which corrects the way in which the jaw works and reduces the stresses and loads on it. This can be disposed of when normal function is restored. As oral & maxillo-facial surgeon, may be required to perform surgery on the TMJ.

Kindly consult a dentist in person for further suggestion. We need more investigations to decide upon treatment. You may need deep cleaning along with surgical, gum strengthening procedures. You may consult me in person too. Dental tips: - visit a dentist every six months. Gargle your mouth thoroughly after every meal. Scrub gently to clean your tongue with a tongue cleaner. Floss all your teeth inter dentally & brush twice daily, morning & night, up & down short vertical strokes, with ultra-soft bristles, indicator brush.

Although no" cure" is known to exist, some centers have very successful therapies, including state-of-the-art lasers. These therapies can be broadly divided into" surgical" and" non-surgical. Surgical removal of the papillomas is the standard of care today. They will not go away with a pill or an antibiotic. Surgical removal also provides a specimen for the pathologist to analyze for the presence of any pre-cancer or cancer. The goal of any surgical procedure is to remove as much of the papillomatosis as possible without scarring the vocal cords, which may result in irreversible hoarseness. Too aggressive of a surgical procedure can result in a voice that is worse than before surgery. On the other hand, insufficiently aggressive surgery is not worth having if too much papillomatosis is left behind. Removal of papillomas usually takes place under general anesthesia in an operating room. Once the patient is fully asleep, a special scope holds open the mouth until the throat can be seen under a microscope (see photograph below). The involved areas should be carefully inspected and mapped out. A biopsy is generally taken, especially if an area looks suspicious. A combination of lasers, micro-instruments and injections are used to treat the involved areas. In advanced centers, the ideal laser to treat papillomas is the ktp laser.

My mom just witnessed blood in her mouth. The blood came suddenly without cough or vomit. She has not felt any pain and is just feeling some weakness. I am tensed. What could be the problem?

M.B.B.S., Diploma in Family Medicine, Fellowship in Diabetes (Liverpool), Advanced Clinical Course in Cardiology (USA), Certified Diabetologist from USA, CCEBDM, MD - Consultant Physician
General Physician, Hooghly
Firstly, you have to look for any source of bleeding within mouth or gum. You did not tell if your mother has high blood pressure or if she is on any antiplatelet (blood thinner) medications. These may cause blood in cough or vomitus. If your mother has any bleeding source within mouth consult any dentist. Also check blood for Complete hemogram and PT, INR and consult your physician. Wish you and your mother good health.

Along with brushing and flossing, tongue cleaning on a daily basis is also very important. Use of a proper tongue scraper every morning will remove tongue plaque and freshen your breath.
