If you want to know your sperm quality then please do semen analysis in a pathology lab with 2-3 days abstinence from sex. Meanwhile keep away from heat, chemical, smoking zones. Wear loose undergarments and keep your testes cooled by pressing them with wet towel for 5-10 minutes daily. These things improve sperm quality.

So many questions within one question. There are no short cuts to reduce weight. Exercise, diet are tried and tested. To control bad breath, do not eat junk foods, eat timely, evacuate timely and clean your mouth twice, use salt water gargling. You should consult a psychologist to help your husband.

It's actually bleeding piles. It's a case of emergency. Consult doc there for temporary relief. They might opt for operation or laser therapies. Kindly do not opt that. Cuz those will reduce only symptoms. Piles, its a disease to be cured from stomach. It happens due to impaired digestion. At its initial stage you might had gas trouble, sour belching, immediate toileting after heavy food intake, constipation, back pain, pain radiating to thighs. For this you can be relieved with oral intake of medication nd local application at analysis region. I prescribe the medicines to be continued for 3 months. So that it cured cured from roots.

What Makes the Aedes MOSQUITO so Dangerous? Hint: It's not just ZIKA!

MD - Internal Medicine, MBBS

What Makes the Aedes MOSQUITO so Dangerous? Hint: It's not just ZIKA!

What Makes the Aedes MOSQUITO so Dangerous?

There are about 3500 mosquito species in the world. Of them, the Aedes genus is responsible for the spread of the most deadliest diseases like Yellow Fever, Chikungunya, Dengue and now Zika Virus. The mosquito is easily recognized by the unique black and white lines on its body.

Here are certain reasons that make this genus of mosquito a threat to humans.

1. A preference for human flesh

It is the dietary preferences of some of the mosquitoes that make them very dangerous. While some species prefer livestock, amphibians, reptiles or birds, the Aedes aegypti prefer human flesh. Due to its affinity for feeding on humans, this species of mosquito is especially dangerous for people. Generally, it is only the female mosquitoes that drink blood; the male mosquitoes, on the other hand, live on water and nectar.

2. Can adapt to any environment

Another reason that makes them very dangerous is that they can adapt to any situation, making them a real menace. The preferred breeding areas for these mosquitoes are places where water stagnates like flower pots, buckets, tin cans etc. But they also breed closer to home as well in areas like wet shower floors or toilet tanks. For laying their eggs they require less than an inch of water and about 1 ½ week time to mature into adults.

In addition to breeding in shaded areas and outdoors, they also breed indoors. Moreover, the indoor environment being less prone to climatic changes, the mosquitoes tend to live longer. Since the bite of an infected Aedes mosquito leads to the spread of diseases, it is important to stop its spread or propagation.

3. Feeds throughout the day and all year long

Although these mosquitoes are known to most generally feed at day break and before nightfall, they can feed at any time of the day as well as spread infection throughout the year.

Once the virus gets inside the mosquito, it infects its mid-gut and consequently travels to its salivary glands over a time span of 8-12 days. Research reveals that most female mosquitoes spend their life span within the houses, and usually fly about 400 meters within the area.

Smoking - A Slow Poison?

MEM , Diploma in geriatric, MBBS
General Physician, Panchkula
Smoking - A Slow Poison?

The consumption of tobacco by humans began many years ago and has taken many forms ranging from rolled tobacco leaves and pipes to cigarettes. Smoking is a habit that is easy to start, but is difficult to quit. Smoking has both short term effects such as bad breath, tooth and gum loss, premature ageing and weakened immune system and long term effects that impair the respiratory system and cardiovascular system.

Smoking can cause and worsen diseases like cancer of lungs, throat, mouth, kidneys and blood and other chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases. Smokers also have a higher risk of conditions such as dementia, cataract, pulmonary fibrosis, psoriasis, osteoporosis and optic neuropathy. Smoking can also affect fertility, cause erectile disorders and speed up the onset of menopause.

It is said that a smoker’s life expectancy is 10 years less than that of a non-smoker. There are three main components of cigarette smoke that can harm the body.

  1. Nicotine: Nicotine is what makes cigarettes addictive and make smoking a habit. In the beginning, it may stimulate the brain but in the long run, your body can begin to crave for nicotine. If this craving is not fulfilled, it can cause irritability, restlessness, headaches and shortened attention span.
  2. Tar: Tar in cigarettes contains many harmful chemicals and is deposited in the lungs. From here it enters the blood vessels and is carried to other parts of the body. In many ways, tar is akin to a poison.
  3. Carbon monoxide: Carbon monoxide affects the blood’s capacity to transport oxygen from the heart to the rest of the body. In the case of pregnant women, carbon monoxide can also reduce the amount of oxygen available to the growing foetus and hence cause complications in pregnancy. Children born to smokers are also said to have an increased risk of suffering from congenital defects and conditions like asthma.

The good news is that quitting it is possible and its benefits can be experienced right away. Within the first 72 hours of quitting, the bronchial tubes begin to open up and breathing becomes easier. If you stop smoking before the age of 50, you can reduce your risk of dying from smoking related complications by 50%. The most important part of quitting nicotine is your own determination and willpower. Nicotine replacement therapy in the form of gums, patches, lozenges and inhalers can also help deal with nicotine withdrawal symptoms and make the process easier. If you wish to discuss about any specific problem, you can consult a general physician.

Nice to hear you dont want to hurt your parents feelings, now very few think these days this way. The chances of success of so called love and arranged marriage are the same. Marriage is a culmination of two families in Indian culture. The decision to marry a person of ur choice is not wrong, but should encompass various factors of family compatibility, educational match, and so on. Mere love at first sight, love due to physical attraction and love due to unexplained emotional attraction are more of infatuation (puppy love) and mostly dont stand the test of time. Ask this guy to tell your parents that he loves you and ask him to get their approval? let s see how he responds
