I am having a bad smell problem and at the same time blood comes out of my teeth whenever I have food. Its been 3 months I am using glister toothpaste but as such no improvement. please advice me what should I do even when I wake up early morning a continuous bad smell comes out from my mouth. Astritis, lung & sinus infection may also be the cause of bad smell in the mouth. 90% of bad breath is due to a dirty tongue. Kindly consult a dentist in person for further suggestion. We need more investigations to decide upon treatment. You may need deep cleaning along with surgical, gum strengthening procedure. Rinse your mouth thoroughly with a mouth wash after every meals. Use pepsodent tooth paste & gum paint for 2 to 3 weeks. Advance procedures can be done with laser. You may consult me in person. Dental tips: - visit a dentist every six months for cleaning and a thorough dental check-up. Limit sugary food to avoid tooth decay.Scrub gently to clean your tongue with a tongue cleaner. Living With Solitary Kidney - Things You Need to Know!

One single kidney in place of two is a scenario which is often termed as solitary kidney.

Who has a solitary kidney?

  1. Their body functions normally and are generally not unhealthy. This is also known as renal agenesis.
  2. In some cases, people are born with two kidneys with just one of them healthy and fully functional. The other one does not function fully or partially. This condition is known as kidney dysplasia.
  3. A person who had to undergo a kidney removal surgery (nephrectomy); such a surgery is conducted when a person has an infected kidney or diseased, malfunctioning/cancerous growths on the kidney.
  4. A person who has donated a kidney to someone who required kidney transplantation.

What potential health risks does a person with a solitary kidney have?

  1. Normally, a person born with a single kidney does not have any such potential health risks. They are generally healthy and lead normal lives.
  2. Later in life, there may or may not be slight loss or degradation in the functioning of the kidney.
  3. The life span of a person with a single kidney is normal. There is no apparent effect on the mortality rates.

What kind of special diet must a person with a single kidney follow?

  1. There is no need of any such special diet for a person with a single kidney.
  2. Normal healthy balanced diet with all the essential nutrients should suffice.
  3. You must be careful about your animal protein intake and calcium supplements.
  4. Drink sufficient quantity of water to remain hydrated all day and prevent the urine from turning acidic.
  5. Controlled consumption of alcohol and caffeine is a must. It is also important to reduce the consumption of aerated drinks.

Exercises and Physical activities for a person with a single kidney:

  1. A person with a solitary kidney can function like any other normal individual.
  2. You may also participate in sports. However, you must take enough precaution to prevent injuries to your kidney. Proper padding and protection around your lower abdominal region and back is of utmost necessity.

I am male and age is 31 years old. Six months back may be in gym lifting light weight next day I got severe pain in biceps. I taken the tablets for inflammation. Now two months back I was doing push ups and next day I got the same pain in biceps in my another hand. I taken the tablets. Now I was not doing exercise at all therefore I did some squats for my lower body. So Now when I sit like squat in toilet I feel pain in my one leg for 10 seconds. Thereafter I does not feel anything. I met physiotherapist and even other doctors they told its very normal in gym. But my legs and hands are working fine but when I stretch my hands backward I feel pain in lower biceps. I really don't understand why it happened in both the biceps at a interval time. Secondly why it is taking so much time in repairing because I am not able to go gym. I just checked in yahoo in a article for vitamin b12. Thereafter I went for blood test and the result was 139 PG/ml and normal is 174 -878. So my question is 1) is my vit b 12 is low and it is effecting my injuries ? 2) I am vegetarian so it may happen that I lack other nutrients ? 3) I am exercising but I do not get the result . So is it vit b 12. 4) What is the reason behind injuries of hand and legs 5) Why injuries takes lot of time in repairing.

Hi lybrate-user, * as you are a vegetarian vitamin b 12 deficiency is very common and go for wallnut, these wallnut contain lot of b 12 your deficiencies will fill up, * if your eating habits with lot of carbohydrates and doing exercises lot of calories will burn and acids are released into the muscular tissue this will cause pain, so go for more protein diet in food so that your muscular strength will be increased. * if your recently started workouts also pains will be there for contineous period of 6 months atleast. * increase your b complex in your food you can overcome with your problem.

Take following remedies for loosing weight 1. Arogya vardhini vati 2 tab before lunch and dinner 2. Abhayarishta 4 tsp before lunch nad dinner 3. Morning break fast=mung dal green soup 1 boul and if feel hunger have pomegranate or apple 4. Lunch 2 chaati + fruit vegetable + if you like rice 1 bowl and dal + barley soup 5. Evening 4-5 pm have some milk with sunth or any fruit you like 6. Dinner barley soup 2 bowl and one fruit follow this diet you will get reduced weight.
