I am a smoker from chennai I had been smoking cigerate since last 10 years I want to leave cigerate what should I do now I had been trying since last 1 years but I can't stop smoking.

BHMS
Homeopath, Mumbai
Dear lybrate-user, best way for any deaddiction is gradual tapering it down. Suppose if you are smoking 8-10 cigarettes per day then reduce it to maximum 6 cigarettes per day not more than that. Continue this for 15-20 days and then similarly reduce it down to 4 cigarettes per day then after 15-20 days to 2 likewise. Whenever you like to smoke, try to delay at least 15-30 minutes and gradually increase the time interval. The most important thing is to give your body time to adjust with gradually decreasing nicotine level. Sudden decrease in nicotine level produces withdrawal symptoms. Try this method and if successful let others know. All the best.
