Hello lybrate-user, weight gain is a natural phenomenon which happens when you consume more than what is required by your body to maintain regular functions. While you are considering weight gain make sure your routine is healthy and right as it takes a toll on your body if you have a very hectic schedule. Proteins and exercise is not the only way to increase weight but it is balancing all the micronutrients like carbohydrates, proteins, fats that make you improve your weight. Try and have frequent calorically dense meals to get good results. Also, avoid getting too worked up and getting stressed. Please contact the professional if you want to see weight gain which is sustainable and to avoid fat stores in the body. If you want to connect me please get in touch through mobile.

Hello lybrate-user, it is very important that this is looked into immediately. As this indicates that your digestion is affected. Start with soft diet which is easy on your gut and along with that start supplementing with healthy gut microbes and fiber which is the food for that microbes. Along with that start having turmeric as it has good healing properties. Also try an avoid milk. But consume adequate buttermilk and curd. Also start with kombucha, kimchi, sauerkraut which contains good microbes and will help you to improve your digestion. Slowly introduce food one at a time and see if your gut is sensitive to any food such as wheat and wheat products. As few people are allergic to gluten which can cause this problem. Also it is important to start with some form of physical activity such as briskwalk or jog. Please consult an proffessional to get detailed food plan and elimination diet along with gut repair food plan which will solve your issues. If interested you can contact me for the same.

I am very week. The calcium number of my body is 11. My muscles are very week. My immunity power is low. Please suggest what kind of food to eat?

Hello Lybrate-User, There are multiple reasons why one feels weakness and fatigue. It can be due to unresolved stress or due to inadequate intake of healthy food which leads to vitamin-mineral deficiencies. Your serum calcium levels seem to be good. But it seems like you have magnesium deficiency since you complain of tendon weakness and muscle aches. To improve your magnesium you would have to consume adequate amounts of lady's finger, spinach, kale, figs, avocado, banana, nuts and seeds this should improve your muscle strength. It is equally important to start some physical activity such as a brisk walk or cardio exercises. Its always wise to avoid eating from outside and maintain a habit where you rely on home-cooked meals along with generous use of nuts, seeds and fruits as these are the powerhouse of vitamins and minerals. This should improve your overall health and wellness.

Hello Mr. lybrate-user, it is important while you are having a particular diet for increasing your weight you should include foods that are easy to digest as well as complex food. It will help you to create balance and improve your gut flora. Presence of certain bad strains of bacteria in your gut can cause you gastric trouble such as bloating, flatulence, acidic and constipation. In such a situation it is only wise to improve the diversity of food and improve the intake of fermented food which is also easy to digest. Apart from this it is also important to maintain good protein intake so as to improve overall muscle mass and reduce hair fall. Thus it only wise to consult an qualified dietitian who can help you improve your health and wellbeing taking into consideration various concerns that you face.

Summer season is round the corner and so are the ice creams. Are ice creams good for health? How often should one eat...
Hello, it is a really interesting question. We all must agree to the fact that ice creams is the most delectable dessert which appeals to the taste buds of millions of people. While having said that we must not forget that it is also one of the most abused desserts as well. Ice creams is loaded with sugar, fat and preservative which gives you that feel good factor basically serotonin high that soothes your soul. But one must not forget that this is very temporary effect followed by low feeling. It is basically loaded with empty calories and preservative affect the flora of your gut causing dysbiosis affecting your overall health. Thus it is wise that while you enough a small cup of ice cream once in 15 days rather then follow you are unhealthy emotionally driven indulgence of food as a substitute for solution.

Detoxification - Why Is It Only About Healthy Excretory Organs?

Detoxification - Why Is It Only About Healthy Excretory Organs?

You may have heard the term detox quite often, but do you know what it actually means? Detoxification is ridding your body off the many germs and poisons that inhibit proper bodily functions. The best way to detoxify your body is to ensure your digestive and excretory systems are functioning well. This way, you will no longer need to set aside a day for detoxification, as your body will naturally detoxify every single day.

In your body, detoxification is carried out by the excretory system – organs that remove unwanted substances from the body. If these organs are not functioning well, then toxins will accumulate in the body.

The excretory system comprises 5 organs – liver, kidneys, lungs, colon, and skin. Here is a look at how each organ contributes in this process and what you can do to keep them healthy.

1. Liver:

This is the most vital organ when it comes to filtering blood and getting rid of all toxic chemicals. Therefore, it is vital to keep your liver healthy if you are trying detoxification. Here are some foods to eat to keep the organ healthy.

Garlic
• Beets
Broccoli
Cabbage
• Lemon juice

Additionally, bitter foods also help keep your liver healthy. Therefore, bitter gourd and neem leaves can also help you maintain proper liver functionality.

2. Kidneys:

The kidneys perform the critical role of flushing out the waste or toxic ingredients of the blood in the form of urine. Apart from maintaining a healthy diet, drinking large amounts of water helps your kidneys and enhances their performance. Some healthy foods for your kidneys include

Parsley
• Cilantro
• Green tea
• Egg whites
• Blueberry
• Fish containing Omega 3 fatty acids
• Apples

3. Lungs:

Most people think that their stomach and intestines make up the excretory systems. However, lungs are an integral part of your excretory systems as well because these organs are in charge of excreting gaseous wastes from your body. Gaseous toxins include carbon dioxide, allergens, mould and fumes. Here is a look at some foods that help your lungs function better.

• Mustard
• Turnip
Radish
Walnuts
• Poultry
• Broccoli

Water is again an essential element in enhancing lung functionality.

4. Colon:

The colon or large intestine is responsible for removing solid wastes from the body after the process of digestion is complete. This region of your body houses beneficial bacteria as well that help in the digestive and excretory process. Here are some healthy foods for your colon.

• Lentils
Chia seeds
• Beets
Sweet potatoes
• Garlic
Onion
• Apples
Turnips

Any fibre containing foods help your colon work better. Furthermore, drinking plenty of water is necessary if you want to avoid constipation.

5. Skin:

The largest organ in the body, the skin is responsible for excreting waste products through sweat. Furthermore, skin also helps the body release heat and regulates the internal temperature. Consume the following foods to keep your skin healthy.

• Blueberries
• Purple cabbage
• Walnuts
• Beets
Avocado
• Bell pepper

In addition, exercise and meditate on a daily basis. This will keep your body and mind healthy, and make it conducive for the body to detoxify.

Detoxification helps improve your overall metabolism and keeps you healthy. With the foods mentioned above, you can keep your excretory system fit.
