Greying of hair is a normal aging process which starts around 30 years of age. The hairs which have already turned white cannot be turned back to black. But you can delay the process of greying of hair by some lifestyle modifications. Take adequate sleep and drink lots of water, eat lots of fruits and green leafy vegetables. एवोकाडो का नाम सुनकर ही ऐसा लगता है. जैसे यह कोई विदेशी पौधा हो दरअसल इसे अमेरिका में उगाया जाता है. एवोकाडो एक सदाबहार पेड़ है. जोकि हमारे लिए कई तरह के स्वास्थ्य लाभ प्रदान करने वाला है. यदि हम एवोकाडो में पाए जाने वाले पोषक तत्व और अन्य पदार्थों की बात करें तो इसमें फैटी एसिड से भरपूर मात्रा में पाई जाती है.

एवोकाडो में मौजूद बीटा-सीटेस्टेरोल स्वस्थ कोलेस्ट्रॉल का स्तर बनाए रखने में सहायक साबित होता है. कई शोधों में पता चलता है कि यह एच डी एल कोलेस्ट्रोल के एंटीथोजेनिक गुणों को बढ़ाने का काम करता है. जिससे कि धमनियां नरम होती हैं और खतरा कम होता है. इसके अलावा यह उच्च रक्तचाप में भी उपयोगी है.
8. लीवर के लिए एवोकाडो में

As I am suffering with pcod I did not get my period from last two months and had a negative pregnancy result I consulted a gynecologist and she asked me to use Meprate 10 mg for 5 days 3 tablets per day. And she told me that once I stop using them I will get my period. But I stopped them 1 week back and I did not get my period still. I am not able to understand the reason behind this.

Obesity is the condition wherein a person has an excessive body weight as a result of genetic or lifestyle related factors. Hence it is crucial to undergo weight reduction.

Calculate the weight you need to lose
Before you begin to practice effective steps for losing weight consider the amount of weight you need to shed. You should first measure your current weight and then calculate your body mass index (BMI) to find the amount of deviation from the recommended range. Then consider the difference between your current and ideal weight as your target weight.

Tips For Losing Weight

1. Eat Right

2. Exercise
An obese person needs to exercise regularly. If you find it difficult to do exercise, take baby steps. Start with easy sitting and lying exercises. Go out into the open such as a garden and perform these exercises early in the morning for just 10 minutes. As you build your stamina, increase the intensity gradually.

3. Manage stress
Shed some of that stress in your life as stress and weight are directly correlated. Lose out on stress, and you will also lose those extra pounds.

करौंदा एक ऐसा पौधा है जो सबसे पहले उत्तरी अमेरिका में उगाया गया था. अंग्रेजी में इसे क्रेनबेरी कहते हैं. इसका वैज्ञानिक नाम वैक्सीनियम मैक्रोकार्पोंन है. करौंदा छोटी-छोटी झाड़ियों के रूप में उगने वाला पौधा है. इसमें कांटे भी लगे होते हैं. इसकी फली आकार में बहुत छोटी होती है. जिसका रंग गहरा गुलाबी होता है. करौंदा को यदि कच्चा खाया जाए तो यह काफी खट्टा होता है. लेकिन पकने के बाद इसमें मिठास आ जाती है. करौंदा का इस्तेमाल सॉस, ड्रिंक्स आदि बनाने में किया जाता है. करौंदा में पोषक तत्वों की उच्च मात्रा और एंटीऑक्सीडेंट्स थी पाया जाता है. इसे अक्सर सुपर फूड के नाम से भी संबोधित किया जाता है. आइए करौंदा के कुछ फायदे और नुकसान को समझते हैं.

1. वजन घटाने में

दिल को स्वस्थ रखने में भी करौंदा का इस्तेमाल किया जा सकता है. दरअसल करौंदा का रस एचडीएल कोलेस्ट्रॉल के स्तर को बढ़ाने का काम करता है. जिसे कि अच्छा कोलेस्ट्रॉल भी कहा जाता है. इसके अलावा करौंदा में पॉलीफेनाल्स भी पाया जाता है. जोकि रक्तचाप को कम करने में महत्वपूर्ण होता है.

According to most experts, depression and diabetes have been intricately connected in a vicious cycle. When the normal functioning of the heart shuts down suddenly due to heart disease or any other cardiovascular condition, then this is known as sudden death due to a heart problem. Every year, there are over 100,000 deaths globally due to this reason, as per various medical studies. Sudden Cardiac Arrest or SCD is a cause of death for many adults who may or may not be suffering from chronic heart disease. Let us find out more about this condition.

- Difference between SCD and Heart Attack: A myocardial infraction or heart attack can happen when there is a blockage in one of the arteries of the heart which prevents the passage of blood and oxygen to the heart's varied chambers. When the oxygen present in the blood does not reach the heart in adequate amounts and on time, it can lead to a heart attack. In the case of SCD or sudden cardiac arrest, the problem happens due to a shutdown of the heart after a malfunction in the electrical systems which can lead to varied irregularities. 

Accelerated heartbeats, fluttering and quivering of the ventricles which is also known as ventricular fibrillation, as well as other similar causes can ensure that the blood does not reach the heart on time, which can lead to sudden death. The patient usually loses consciousness within the very first few minutes as the blood does not reach the brain.

- Symptoms: There are a number of symptoms that are associated with this phenomenon. While losing consciousness is one of the first signs, others include a racing heartbeat as well as heart rhythm problems and dizzy spells. The symptoms usually take place suddenly without prior warning and lead to a complete shutdown of the heart and its functions.

- Causes: The main cause of SCD is a condition known as arrhythmias which is basically characterised by abnormal heart rhythms and vertical fibrillation which leads to disorganised impulses to be released from the ventricles due to which the heart cannot pump blood properly. It can lead to death within a matter of minutes if it remains untreated.

- Revival: On an emergency basis, the patient will have to be given CPR by an expert at the emergency unit of the hospital. This is a manual process of retrieving the patient by pumping the chest and breathing into the patient's mouth. Portable defibrillators can also be used to revive the patient in such cases.

- Risk Factors: Patients who have suffered heart attacks in the past and have a family history of heart disease and heart attacks, are at maximum risk when it comes to SCD. Also, factors like obesity and diabetes can increase the risk.

OVERVIEW

Urinary Tract Infections are common infections, affect men and women of all ages, and vary dramatically in their presentation and sequelae.

Urinary Tract Infections are a common cause of morbidity and can lead to significant mortality.

WHAT IS AN UTI?

A UTI is an infection involving any part of the Urinary Tract such as the Urethra, Urinary Bladder and the Kidneys.

UTI is an inflammatory response of the urothelium (lining of the urinary tract) to bacterial invasion.

INCIDENCE AND EPIDEMIOLOGY

Women are most at risk for a UTI. Nearly half of all women (50%) will experience a UTI during their lifetime.

WHY?

Women have a short urethra which makes it easier for the bacteria to enter the bladder and cause infections. Also the urethra is in close proximity to the anal canal, which is the source of these organisms.

What causes the UTI`s?

The most common causative organisms of UTI`s are bacteria from the bowel such as E.coli, proteus, pseudomonas etc.

Once the bacteria enter the urethra, they travel upwards causing infection in the bladder and sometimes other parts of the urinary tract.

Sexual intercourse is commonly associated with UTI`s in women. During intercourse, the bacteria in the vaginal area are sometimes transferred into the urethra by the motion of the penis.

Using spermicides or a diaphragm also can cause more frequent UTI`S , due to increased binding of the organisms to the lining of the urethra.

Menopause also increases the risk of getting a UTI. During menopause, the level of estrogen decreases which causes changes in the periurethral tissues that can lead to a UTI.

In men, urethritis is usually the result of bacteria acquired during sexual contact.

SYMPTOMS AND SIGNS OF A UTI

  1. A strong persistent urge to urinate.
  2. A burning sensation during or after urination.
  3. Passing frequent, small amounts of urine.
  4. Blood in the urine (Hematuria) / Cloudy Urine / Foul smelling urine.
  5. Pain in the lower abdomen and the pelvis.
  6. Penile discharge in men.
  7. Pain in the flank region/ back, fever , nausea and vomiting, fatigue  (Infection of the kidneys)

HOW ARE UTI`S DIAGNOSED?

The Urologist will take a proper history and examine the patient and order some basic investigations like Urine Analysis and Urine Culture and sensitivity. UTI`S in males require more detailed investigations like the Ultrasound of the Abdomen to elucidate the cause of UTI.

TREATMENT

Based on the severity of the symptoms, the urologist may prescribe antibiotics empirically based on the common sensitivity patterns. The antibiotic may be changed based on the Urine C/S report , which usually takes around 48 hours time. You may also be prescribed a medicine that will relax the bladder while the antibiotic starts to work.

Patients must make sure they take the complete course of treatment as directed and to return back if the symptoms are not relieved.

Patients are also advised to drink plenty of oral fluids, which help in flushing out the bacteria from the urinary tract. Patients are also asked to avoid coffee, alcohol, and soft drinks containing caffeine until the infection is cleared because these can irritate the bladder and cause worsening of symptoms.

Kidney Infections (Pyelonephritis) usually require hospitalization and more intensive management.

PREVENTION OF UTI`S

  1. Drink plenty of oral fluids to flush out the bacteria
  2. Do NOT hold the urine for long periods of time. Urinate when you feel
  3. Wipe from front to back after a bowel movement.
  4. Urinate before and after sexual contact emptying the bladder completely each time.
  5. Avoid using spermicides/ diaphragms , in case of recurrent UTI`s
  6. Avoid use of feminine “hygeiene” products like douches and sprays, which could upset the delicate bacterial balance of the genital region.
