I have stopped smoking. How can I clean my lungs, so that it does not cause problem later.
That's very good, you can see the positive impact of smoking cessation on your physical fitness will starts appearing soon after quitting. Purification of the lungs takes a very long time although your lungs may become cleaner over the time. Eat fruits, green and leafy vegetables for detox you lungs. Do some physical exercise daily like jogging, swimming, outdoor games etc. Many people feels stressed after quitting smoking so try to be relaxed, meditation is also very helpful. Always remind that if you continue smoking your lungs will only continue to be damaged. Please do not forget this point and keep up your motivation for quitting smoking. Be proud of your everyday improvement you have already achieved. Thanks.

I have no controls of my thoughts process. I am feeling depressed because I don't have a clue what direction I am going. People of my age going America and getting job in MNC. Hi Lybrate user Try to stay positive. Remember that your value does not decrease just because someone else fails to see it. Remind yourself you have successfully completed your b tech. Just think about your past hard works, and don't give up. Make a list of 10 things you have done, and are thankful for. Try to focus on what you have done for improving your self confidence. And for your laziness- develop a routine or create a everyday list of all things you have to do and try to follow it, at least one weeks. All the Best.

How To Identify Day-To-Day Stress?

POST GRADUATE DIPLOMA IN CLINICAL PSYCHOLOGY, Masters in clinical psychology
Psychologist, Mumbai

Many of us may feel stressed out in our daily lives without knowing why, actually the real problem is the stressful situation is that we are enduring, either in our minds or in reality.
Identifying stressors is not easily done for most people, while some of us can point to different stress factors that have occurred recently in our lives, others have no idea why we are stressed.
If you are feeling" stressed out" sit down with a pen and paper and try to identify the causes of your stress. In most cases, it will be more than one different problem that is causing stress.
Keeping a journal of your day to day activities and how you feel periodically throughout the day is also a great idea. Think about the different people with whom you interact and how you feel about each interaction.
Once you have identified the source of your stress, you can then make a determination on how you can handle the stress that is affecting your daily life.
Need to understand that some of the stressors you will be able to control, others you will not be able to do anything about. But in order to help yourself you are going to have to know what are the causes of your stress. Often we don't realize that we are in control because we feel so out of control at the time of stress, but the tools are there, you just have to use them.

Hi Lybrate user Always think positive. Try to think about your abilities. There are lots of different things you can do for improving your brainpower. First of all believe in yourself and your abilities. Do deep breathing exercise daily, it helps our brain to function better. Always eat healthy foods. One of the simplest method to boost our brain function is to keep learning, try to learn something new it gives your brain a workout in the same way that you would do a physical workout to increase your physical strength. Make a list of your strengths for improving your confidence, be brave and challenge your problems, and try to live happy and healthy life. Thanks.

Hi Lybrate user you should continue medicine as per your psychiatric prescription. My advice is - Take a short break from your job, work responsibility minimum 2-3 weaks, go for a family holiday, do something creative, spend sometime with nature, feel the natures beauty, identify your hobby and enjoy it. Do some deep breathing exercise, listen your favourite songs, forget everything about your profession for one week. After one week try to remind and write your achiements, studies, positive feedbacks from your patients, your inner strength's, etc. You feel better and some amazing benefits just by taking a short break for yourself. Thanks.

Hi Lybrate user The best treatment for Bipolar disorder is a combination of medication and psychotherapy, and in addition to regular medication and therapy healthy lifestyle habits and support from family and friends can help your father to cope with bipolar disorder, people with bipolar disorder recover more quickly when they have support from family members and friends. I'm 15 years old girl I'm studying in 10 I'm willing to study at early morning but I can't wake up early that's why and also I want to wake up early what can I do for getting up early. Please give me the proper answer.

POST GRADUATE DIPLOMA IN CLINICAL PSYCHOLOGY, Masters in clinical psychology

Hi Lybrate user That's very good! you want to wake up early in the morning. Following are some tips for you :- 1- Allow yourself to sleep earlier :- Try to go to bed earlier, even if you don't think you will sleep and read while in bed, if you really tired you just might fall asleep much sooner than you think. 2- Set a good reason :- Set something to do early in the morning that's important for you, this reason will motivate you to get up early. 3-Make waking up early a reward :- Find something that's pleasurable for you and allow yourself to do as a reward for yourself. 4- Don't make drastic change :- Start slowly by waking 15-30 minutes earlier than usual. Get used to this for a few days, then cut back another 15 minutes do this gradually until you get to your goal. 5- Put your alarm clock far from your bed :- if it is right next to your bed, you will shut it off, but if it is far from your bed you have to get up out of bed to shut it off. And when you are wake up go out to the bedroom as soon as you shut off the alarm. All The Best.

In my third year engineering college I believed it would be the best year of my life. So I started behaving nicely with everyone else and expected everyone to be the same. But things started to fall apart I thought my best friend would always be by my side but he was cunning and was trying to save his own ass. Then I started to assume I am a victim of the world and everyone is trying to insult me or just trying to be more smart. I got the feeling of being paranoid. And I believe I can't start fresh and can't learn anything new. Please help.

Hi Lybrate user Don't think too much about behaviors of others, even if you do your best to be kind and considerate, you may still be judge negatively by others. This is not a reflection of your feeling rather, it is a reflection on where the others are coming from. People often behave in the only way they know how. So pl don't waste your precious time be your own best friend, take care of yourself and try to focus on your studies, your goal. Thanks.

I sometimes feel that I am travelling back in time. Sometimes when I am sad and I try to relax, all of a sudden I feel that for a second or two, I was in place I used to visit earlier, e.g. I was in my hostel room with few friends, or at a friends home, opening slippers before getting inside. These things make me nostalgic. anyway, anytime, I remember something, and then I become sad, thinking of what all I have lost. Is it normal and not a serious issue? Right now, I am living with my parents, and not with my husband from 1 year, as he went abroad, I miss him too, may be being alone makes me think these things, and sometimes I even feel that I am worthless, sitting all day, though I am taking much care of my 1 year old baby.
