Hi Lybrate user you should continue medicine as per your psychiatric prescription. My advice is - Take a short break from your job, work responsibility minimum 2-3 weaks, go for a family holiday, do something creative, spend sometime with nature, feel the natures beauty, identify your hobby and enjoy it. Do some deep breathing exercise, listen your favourite songs, forget everything about your profession for one week. After one week try to remind and write your achiements, studies, positive feedbacks from your patients, your inner strength's, etc. You feel better and some amazing benefits just by taking a short break for yourself. Thanks.

Hi Lybrate user Make a daily schedule according to your regular work, and try to follow it. Be sure you should sleep 7-8 hours at night. Eat healthy foods. Set a goal for yourself that relate to the high priorities in your life and make sure your goal is motivating.(everyone has dreams, whether they are big or small they have vast importance in our lives. And achieving these goals is related to our happiness. It is a way to increase our self esteem.) write down why it is valuable and important to you, and make sure that it is possible to achieve the goal you set. Stay positive, you will never know your true potential unless you try. Mindfulness of breathing is very useful for concentration and memory. Thanks.

My father is 66 years old suffering from Bipolar disorder. Please advise good doctors/medication/treatment.
Hi Lybrate user The best treatment for Bipolar disorder is a combination of medication and psychotherapy, and in addition to regular medication and therapy healthy lifestyle habits and support from family and friends can help your father to cope with bipolar disorder, people with bipolar disorder recover more quickly when they have support from family members and friends. Thanks.

I'm 15 years old girl I'm studying in 10 I'm willing to study at early morning but I can't wake up early that's why and also I want to wake up early what can I do for getting up early. Please give me the proper answer.

POST GRADUATE DIPLOMA IN CLINICAL PSYCHOLOGY, Masters in clinical psychology

Hi Lybrate user That's very good! you want to wake up early in the morning. Following are some tips for you :- 1- Allow yourself to sleep earlier :- Try to go to bed earlier, even if you don't think you will sleep and read while in bed, if you really tired you just might fall asleep much sooner than you think. 2- Set a good reason :- Set something to do early in the morning that's important for you, this reason will motivate you to get up early. 3-Make waking up early a reward :- Find something that's pleasurable for you and allow yourself to do as a reward for yourself. 4- Don't make drastic change :- Start slowly by waking 15-30 minutes earlier than usual. Get used to this for a few days, then cut back another 15 minutes do this gradually until you get to your goal. 5- Put your alarm clock far from your bed :- if it is right next to your bed, you will shut it off, but if it is far from your bed you have to get up out of bed to shut it off. And when you are wake up go out to the bedroom as soon as you shut off the alarm. All The Best.

How To Manage Exam Stress

Dear students the following strategies can help you to overcome exam related stress:-
1:- plan your study time:- plan your studying with regularly scheduled study sessions about 45 minutes long separated by 5-10 minutes breaks.
2:- try to maintain a healthy lifestyle:- eat healthy foods, get enough sleep, do some physical exercise regularly.
3:- keep things in perspective:- the exam might seems like the most crucial things right now but in the perspective of your whole life, they are only a small part of your life.
4:- take steps to overcome problems:- if you find you don't understand some of your course material try to take help from your teacher or classmate.
5:- don't keep things botteled up:- confiding in someone you trust and who will be supportive is a great way to alleviate stress and worry.
6:- believe in yourself:- the most important thing is always think positive and believe in yourself. If you prepare for the exam properly you should do fine, there is no need to worry. Just do your best. All the best.

In my third year engineering college I believed it would be the best year of my life. So I started behaving nicely with everyone else and expected everyone to be the same. But things started to fall apart I thought my best friend would always be by my side but he was cunning and was trying to save his own ass. Then I started to assume I am a victim of the world and everyone is trying to insult me or just trying to be more smart. I got the feeling of being paranoid. And I believe I can't start fresh and can't learn anything new. Please help.

Hi Lybrate user Don't think too much about behaviors of others, even if you do your best to be kind and considerate, you may still be judge negatively by others. This is not a reflection of your feeling rather, it is a reflection on where the others are coming from. People often behave in the only way they know how. So pl don't waste your precious time be your own best friend, take care of yourself and try to focus on your studies, your goal. Thanks.

I sometimes feel that I am travelling back in time. Sometimes when I am sad and I try to relax, all of a sudden I feel that for a second or two, I was in place I used to visit earlier, e.g. I was in my hostel room with few friends, or at a friends home, opening slippers before getting inside. These things make me nostalgic. anyway, anytime, I remember something, and then I become sad, thinking of what all I have lost. Is it normal and not a serious issue? Right now, I am living with my parents, and not with my husband from 1 year, as he went abroad, I miss him too, may be being alone makes me think these things, and sometimes I even feel that I am worthless, sitting all day, though I am taking much care of my 1 year old baby.

Indulge her in outdoor games. Provide her some play opportunities that support different kinds of learning styles such as blocks- will develop your child's creative expression and problem solving skills. Why do I feel fear & nervous for things, low confidence level, fear of loss (phobia) etc.
HI LIBRATE USER When our insecurities interfere with our ability to accept our social or emotional functioning we feel fear and nervousness. You should try to improve your self esteem by acknowledge your positive qualities and things you are good at. Get into the habit of thinking and saying positive things about yourself. Don't be critical about yourself, make a list of your good qualities and believe them, believe in yourself. Allow yourself a treat time to time, congratulate yourself for a well done task etc. You can't achieve everything in a day but you can start taking steps to enhance the way you feel. Thanks.

HI LIBRATE USER The first step to overcoming your negative thoughts are - you should try to understand and recognize your negative thoughts. Recognize what you have been thinking negatively. Then try to change the negative thought in to positive one. Ex- if you are worried on what could go wrong in a situation, change your thoughts to what could go right. Our mind is a creature of habits so encourage positive thoughts and eliminate the negative thoughts. Try to remind yourself that negative thoughts are only thoughts it has no power. So try to replace them with positive thoughts. Do some outdoor activities, spend time with your hobbies, try to live a happy life. Thanks.

HI LIBRATE USER Almost all people miss something about home when they are away from home. You may feel homesick. Homesickness can affect people of all ages in almost any situation, be relaxed. There are some steps you can take to help yourself. Try to do something fun to forget about being homesick, think positively about your job and your future to feel better. Try to do some similar activities in your new environment. Eat your favourite food from your home, listen your favourate songs. Try to keep your focus positive its important to look at the good side of your work profile and new opportunities. Give yourself time, you should be realize that new situations take time to get use to and that you will probably always miss home to some extent, but over the time feeling of homesickness will decrease in intensity and number of episodes. Hello sir. I am a 21 year old student currently preparing for civil services. I have always been a bright student but lately my problem of over thinking (EXTREMELY negative thoughts) and overstress has exacerbated to an extent where forget concentrating, I am not even able to form proper sentences while speaking/writing. This has reduced my confidence levels drastically because I was always a good performer at debates and writing competitions in my school days. My father is an alcoholic so I do not share a friendly relationship with him. We hardly talk. I have always been sort of an introvert but now it has become very hard for me to bear with this loneliness as the only person I had in my life hates me now. I think I'm slowly going into severe depression because now that I am not able to study properly, I feel like I will not achieve my goals and all my aspirations will merely remain dreams. I wish I could emphasize more on how tough this has become for me but I fail to explain it to anyone perfectly. I do not want a solution to my problems, I just want my confidence and enthusiasm back so that I can concentrate on my studies and ignore all my problems.
