My brother is tb patient. And highly addictive of alcohol. Pain in his back is becoming intolerable. He is taking medicine regularly. In this condition medicine will work or not.

DNB
Pulmonologist, Mumbai
Medicines and alcohol don't work together as both affects liver. If he is so addictive of alcohol, am sure he must never be taking his drugs properly.

From one and half year (Since Aug-16) I'm taking TB medicine.
1.mycobutol 750
2.pyrazinamide 750
3.Rifampin 600.
Now ...
There is no reason for you to continue Pyrazinamide so long. And why is there no isoniazid in the prescribed drugs. The regimen you using for to cure tb is not correct. It should contain rifampicin, isoniazid, Pyrazinamide and ethambutol for 2-3 months and later the drugs should be continued without Pyrazinamide only for 9 months at the most in total. I don't understand the reason for 1.5 yrs of treatment. Even if it's bone tb the drugs should be for 1 year and without Pyrazinamide.

No you should not stop drugs in between as it can lead to your asthma getting out of control. Get a Spirometry with post bronchodilator test to confirm your asthma.

Is there a cure for TB and if there what is that. And what specialist should consult for TB disease.

DNB
Pulmonologist, Mumbai
Certainly there is a cure for all types of TB. You need to see a chest physician or a physician with TB speciality diploma. Different types of tb have different treatment.

Can I stop use of esiflo 250 mg transcap inhaler in middle of use. Want to shift another inhaler levolin Is there any...
No harmful effects of storing ESIFLO. It's not addictive however levolin is only a reliever drug. It will work only in the emergency phase and for 2-3 hours at the most. If you want to be better and symptom free than ESIFLO would be the correct drug. However you can see a chest physician to discuss.

She is a patient of tuberculosis and anaemic also. Doctor advised to give him blood albumin drips but from last 24 hours after giving that she is in slumber sleeping. And doctor also unable to found his diagnosis.

DNB
Pulmonologist, Mumbai
If she is having tuberculosis and anemia than its better to give her a blood pint (packed cell volume) rather than albumin. Secondly if she is drowsy than need to look for other reasons.

Nothing will happen to the bacteria. However they will keep multiplying and your disease will become more severe

I am 32 years working professional in pharmaceutical company. I am suffering from snoring due to sleep apnea. My both nostrils mostly in closing position. When one is open other closed. I want a surgery for snoring. Is it safe and how many days it will take to recover?

DNB
Pulmonologist, Mumbai
You don't need a surgery at the earliest. You can see a pulmonologist and let him decide whether you require a CPAP or surgery. Secondly the nose blockage can also be a sign of allergy and allergic rhinitis. A surgery won't be able to help you out for it unless there is some polyp or mass.

Have copd. While no specific medicines have been prescribed except an inhaler (one dose daily), I am attending yoga classes to improve respiratory system. Since I often suffer from blocked and stuffed nose, and bloating due to gas, I have to make more effort at breathing deeply. At times I feel a twitch in my ribcage bone. Is it because of the strain. Or should I go easy on breathing exercise.

COPD is a bad disease to have and it does affect the body in various ways. As far as the blocked nose, I think you have allergic rhinitis and you need to be put on a spray for the same. It will help the block and congestion of the nose. For bloating start a tablet called Pan-D daily before breakfast for 3 weeks.

I was diagnosed with para cardiac bronchiectasis in which my pulmonologist and cvts told that left lower lobe is affected. Thing now is I use to suffer heavy cough wid phlegm or mucus, and I was not able to turn around and sleep. Now from past 3 months I have no cough 0% n no mucus too. Where is it leading r what might be reason.

DNB
Pulmonologist, Mumbai
If you are in treatment and that is the reason you have no cough and mucus anymore then it means that you are responding well to the treatment. Or the other reason is that you may have a collapse of the lower lobe completely and obstruction of mucus. Get a new HRCT done to help.
