सफ़ेद दाग त्वचा की समस्या है जिसमें आपके त्वचा पर किसी भी जगह सफेद धब्बे उभरने लगते हैं. इसे ल्यूकोर्डमा या विटिलाइगो के नाम से भी जाना जाता है. इसमें शरीर के विभिन्न भागों की त्वचा पर सफेद दाग बनने लग जाते हैं. यह इसलिए होता है क्योंकि त्वचा में वर्णक (रंग) बनाने वाली कोशिकाएं नष्ट हो जाती हैं, इन कोशिकाओं को मेलेनोसाइट्स कहा जाता है. सफेद दाग रोग श्लेष्मा झिल्ली (मुंह और नाक के अंदर के ऊतक) और आंखों को भी प्रभावित करते हैं. सफेद दाग के संकेत और लक्षण में त्वचा का रंग खराब हो जाना, या सफेद हो जाना, शरीर के किसी भी भाग की त्वचा पर दाग पड़ जाना. ये सफेद दाग शरीर में सिर्फ एक भाग पर भी हो सकते हैं या कई भागों में अलग-अलग फैल सकते हैं. इसके ठोस कारण के बारे में अभी तक पता नहीं चल पाया, हालांकि कुछ विशेषज्ञों का मानना है कि यह स्व: प्रतिरक्षा प्रणाली की एक स्थिति होती है. उनके अनुसार सफेद दाग तब होते हैं, जब शरीर की प्रतिरक्षा प्रणाली गलती से त्वचा की कुछ कोशिकाओं को नष्ट कर देती है.

भारत में सफेद दाग रोग की स्थिति
डर्मेटोलॉजिकल के प्रसार के मामले 9.25 प्रतिशत और विटिलाइगो के प्रसार के मामले 9.98 प्रतिशत थे. इनमें से स्थिर प्रकार के विटिलाइगो के मामले 65.21 प्रतिशत आंके गए और जिन लोगों के निचले होठ के नीचे दाग (म्यूकोसल विटिलाइगो) थे उनकी संख्या 75 प्रतिशत थी. शरीर के निचले भागों में सफेद दाग का होना विटिलाइगो की शुरूआत का सबसे सामान्य संकेत होता है. विटिलाइगो से ग्रसित लोगों में ज्याादतर लोग 40 साल की उम्र से पहले इस बीमारी से ग्रसित हो चुके जाते, और इनकी आधी संख्या के करीब लोग 20 साल की उम्र से पहले विटिलाइगो का शिकार बन जाते हैं.
सफेद दाग में परहेज़
सफ़ेद दाग की समस्या उत्पन होने पर या जब आपको पता चल जाता है कि आपको ये समस्या है तब आप कुछ सावधानियां बरतकर इसके प्रभाव को काफी हद तक कम कर सकते हैं. इसमें आपको कुछ फलों का परहेज करना लाभकारी साबित होता है. इन फलों में संतरा, करौंदा, सीताफल, अमरूद, सूखा आलूबुखारा, काजू, तरबूज, खरबूज आदि. इन फलों से परहेज करके आप सफेद दाग को फैलने से रोकने में कुछ हद तक कामयाब हो सकते हैं.
इन सब्जियों का हबी करें परहेज
सफेद दाग में फलों के साथ-साथ कुछ सब्जियां का भी आपको इस्तेमाल कम या नहीं करना चाहिए. इन सब्जियों में बैंगन, लाल सोराल, अजमोद, पपीता, नींबू, टमाटर आदि. ऐसा करने से आप इसके प्रभाव को फैलने से रोक सकेंगे.
इसके अलावा आप इमली, लहसुन और दूध उप्तपाद जैसे: दूध दही या छेना छाछ गैर-शाकाहारी खाद्य पदार्थ जैसे: मछली लाल मीट बीफ (गांय का मांस) अन्य खाद्य पदार्थ जैसे: जंक फूड चॉकलेट कॉफी सोढ़ा बाइ कार्ब कार्बोनेटिड पेय पदार्थ चिकनी, तीखी और मसालेदार चीजें जैसे, अचार आदि से भी परहेज करें ताकि सफेद दाग की समस्या से प्रभावी ढंग से निपट सकें.

घुटनों में दर्द कमजोर हड्डी के कारण या उम्र बढ़ने की वजह से भी महसूस हो सकता है. अन्य सामान्य कारण जैसे फ्रैक्चर, लिगामेंट में चोट, मेनिसकस में चोट, गठिया की वजह से घुंटने की हड्डियों का अकड़ जाना और एक जगह से दूसरी जगह खिसक जाना, ल्यूपस और अन्य पुरानी बीमारियों के कारण घुटनों में दर्द हो सकता है. आइए घुटनों में होने वाले दर्द को दूर करने के उपाय जानें.
नींबू है उपयोगी
नींबू में मौजूद सिट्रिक एसिड यूरिक एसिड क्रिस्टल के लिए एक द्रावक की तरह काम करता है जो कि कुछ प्रकार के गठिया का कारण होता है. इसका इस्तेमाल करने के लिए एक या दो नींबू को छोटे-छोटे टुकड़ों में काट लें. कॉटन के कपडे में इन टुकड़ों को बाँधकर तिल के तेल में डुबायें और इस कपडे को प्रभावित क्षेत्रों पर दस मिनट तक लगाकर रखें.
ठंडे बैग का इस्तेमाल
घुटने में दर्द होते समय ठंडे बैग का इस्तेमाल करें इससे आपकी सूजन और दर्द दूर होंगे. इससे रक्त वाहिकाएं सिकुड़ जाएंगी, प्रभावित क्षेत्रों पर रक्त का प्रवाह कम होगा और इससे सूजन को भी दूर करने में मदद मिलेगी. मुट्ठीभर बर्फ लें और उसे किसी तौलिये या कपडे में लपेटकर रख दें. 10 से 20 मिनट के लिए प्रभावित क्षेत्रों पर तौलिए या कपडे को लगाएं.
सरसों का तेल
आयुर्वेद के अनुसार, गर्म सरसों के तेल से मसाज करने से सूजन दूर होगी, रक्त रिसंचरण में सुधार होगा दर्द दूर होगा. दो चम्मच सरसों के तेल को गर्म कर लें. अब उसमें लहसुन की फांकों को डालें और तब तक गर्म करने जब तक लहसुन भूरा न हो जाये. अब तेल को छान लें और ठंडा होने के लिए रख दें. अब इस गुनगुने गर्म तेल से अपने घुटनों पर मसाज करें.
नीलगिरि का तेल
नीलगिरी के तेल में एनाल्जेसिक या दर्द निवारण गुण होते हैं जोघुटनों के दर्द से रहता दिलाने में मदद करते हैं. इस तेल का ठंडा एहसास गठिया के दर्द में आराम पहुंचाएगा. पांच से सात बूंद नीलगिरी तेल और पुदीने की तेल की बूँदें एक साथ मिला लें. फिर उसमें दो चम्मच जैतून का तेल मिलाएं. इस मिश्रण को सूरज से दूर रखे और किसी अँधेरे वाली जगह पर ढक कर रख दें.
सेब का सिरका
सेब साइडर सिरका जोड़ों में चिकनाई लाता है जिससे दर्द दूर होता है और गतिशीलता को बढ़ावा मिलता है. दो चम्मच सेब के सिरके को दो कप पानी में मिलाएं. इस मिश्रण को अच्छे से मिलाने के बाद पी लें. जब तक दर्द चला नहीं जाता इस मिश्रण को रोज़ाना पियें. इसके अलावा दो कप सेब के सिरके को बाल्टी भर गर्म पानी के मिलाएं. अब इसमें अपने प्रभावित क्षेत्रों को आधे घंटे के लिए डालें रखें. अब इस मिश्रण को घुटनों पर मसाज की तरह इस्तेमाल करें.
हल्दी है लाभदायक
हल्दी में करक्यूमिन मौजूद होता है जिसमें सूजनरोधी और एंटीऑक्सीडेंट गुण होते हैं. ये गुण दर्द को कम करने में मदद करते हैं. हल्दी हीउमाटोइड आर्थराइटिस को कम करता है जो कि घुटने के दर्द का मुख्य कारण है. हल्दी का इस्तेमाल करने के लिए एक कप पानी में एक या आधा चम्मच अदरक और हल्दी को मिलाकर इसे दस मिनट के लिए इसे ही उबालें. अब इस मिश्रण को छानकर इसमें हल्दी को मिलाकर इसे पूरे दिन में दो बार ज़रूर पियें. एक ग्लास दूध में एक चम्मच हल्दी पाउडर मिलाएं. अब इसे शहद के साथ मिक्स करें और पूरे दिन में एक बार ज़रूर पियें.
मेथी का बीज
मेथी के बीज में सूजनरोधी और एंटीऑक्सीडेंट गुण होते हैं जो घुटने के दर्द से राहत दिलाने में मदद करते हैं. इसके अलावा मेथी के बीज प्राकृतिक रूप से गर्म होने के कारण गठिया के मरीजों के लिए बेहद लाभदायक होते हैं. इसके लिए रातभर एक चम्मच मेथी के बीज को भिगोकर रख दें. सुबह पानी को निकाल लें और उन बीजों को चबाएं. इस प्रक्रिया को पूरे दिन में एक या दो हफ्ते तक करें.
लाल मिर्च का करें उपयोग
लाल मिर्च में कैप्साइसिन मौजूद होता है जो दर्द निवारक की तरह काम करता है. कैप्साइसिन के प्राकृतिक एनाल्जेसिक या दर्द से राहत देने के गुण गर्माहट पैदा करते हैं और घुटनों के दर्द को दूर करते हैं. आधे कप गर्म जैतून के तेल में दो चम्मच लाल मिर्च मिलाकर इस पेस्ट को प्रभावित क्षेत्रों पर एक हफ्ते तक रोज़ाना पूरे दिन में दो बार ज़रूर लगाएं. इसके अलावा आप एक चौथाई या एक चम्मच लाल मिर्च को एक कप सेब के सिरके में मिलाएं. अब एक कपडा लें और उसे इस मिश्रण में भिगोएं और प्रभावित क्षेत्रों पर बीस मिनट तक लगाकर रखें.
अदरक में सूजनरोधी गुण मौजूद होते हैं. अदरक घुटनों की सूजन और दर्द को कम करने में मदद करता है. इसके लिए ताज़ा अदरक को सबसे पहले काट लें और उसे फिर क्रश कर लें. अब इन्हें एक कप पानी में क्रश कर लें और दस मिनट के लिए उबलने को रख दें. अब इस मिश्रण को छान लें और इसमें बराबर मात्रा में शहद और नींबू का जूस मिलाएं.
सेंधा नमक
सेंधा नमक में मैग्नीशियम सल्फेट प्राकृतिक तरीकों से मांसपेशियों को आराम पहुंचाता है जिससे ऊतकों से अधिक तरल पदार्थों को निकालने में मदद मिलती है. गर्म पानी के टब या बाल्टी में एक या आधा कप सेंधा नमक मिलाएं. अब अपने घुटनों को गुनगुने पानी में 15 मिनट के लिए डालें रखें. ह्रदय से सम्बंधित समस्यायों वाले और हाई बीपी और शुगर वाले व्यक्ति इसके इस्तेमाल में सावधाने बरतें.

Understandably, the limitations brought about by back pain may produce stress that can damage a relationship. The person who doesn’t have the pain often finds it difficult to understand what his or her partner is experiencing. The negative effects that pain has been causing in a couple’s sex life can sometimes spill over into other aspects of the relationship.

Good communication is critical. Otherwise, one partner may mistakenly interpret a reluctance to engage in sexual activity as an excuse for not wanting to be close, which can lead to feelings of rejection and resentment.

To reduce the tension, try to create an atmosphere in which neither partner will feel rushed. Be patient with each other. I suggest setting the stage with a gentle massage, a hot bath or shower, or the application of a pain cream - any of which can relax the muscles and ease pain. Even under the best of circumstances, back pain may occur during sex. Knowing this, both of you should plan how you will respond ahead of time, so you can avoid becoming angry or frustrated.

A: nipah virus was initially discovered when it caused an outbreak of brain fever among pig farmers in malaysia.

Q: should I be worried? 
A: a little. As it is transmitted from person to person and there is no effective antiviral therapy for this infection.

Q: who is at high risk? how is it transmitted? 
A: 1. People working with pigs and consuming pigs.
2. Farmers who come in contact with bats.
3. Consuming fruits which are already bitten by bat.
4. Contact with people who already have nipah virus infection. 

Q: what are the early symptoms? 
A: the initial presentation is non-specific, characterized by the sudden onset of fever, headache, muscle pain, nausea and vomiting. Neck rigidity and photophobia are also seen.
The disease rapidly progresses, with deterioration in consciousness *leading to coma within five to seven days.* 

Q: how is it diagnosed? 
A: the rdiagnosis is by elisa which is currently done at national institute of virology, pune.

Q: how is it treated? 
A: supportive care is the mainstay of treatment and infected patients may require intensive care monitoring.
*there is no approved specific therapy for this infection*. So prevention is the only cure! 

Q: how do I prevent it? 
A: 1. Avoid contact with pigs and pig handlers.
2. Maintain personal hygeine and intensive hand washing practices
3. *avoid consuming raw fruits,* consume only well cooked, clean, home made food till the outbreak settles down. 
4. Preferably use n95 mask while travelling or working in public places to avoid person to person transmission.
5. Be aware of the symptoms and report to the doctor immediately for early diagnosis and treatment.

Does Asexuality Impact Penis Health?

For most men, maintaining their penis health is a priority. Even if they may not take all the steps necessary to keep their penis in prime condition, they still make some effort. And although they may do so partially because of the non-sexual functions in which the penis is involved, there's little doubt that for many men, being sure that the penis is likely to function superbly in sexual situations is a major motivating factor. And that's a two-way street, because using the penis in a sexual manner helps to maintain penis health. But what about men who fall in the asexuality spectrum? Does their asexuality impact their penis health?


Before getting into that question, it's important to have an understanding of what asexuality is. It used to be that an asexual was considered a person who didn't have any sexual or romantic feelings toward any person, of either sex. But nowadays defining asexuality is a little more complicated.

"An asexual is someone who does not experience sexual attraction. Unlike celibacy, which people choose, asexuality is an intrinsic part of who we are. Asexuality does not make our lives any worse or any better, we just face a different set of challenges than most sexual people. There is considerable diversity among the asexual community; each asexual person experiences things like relationships, attraction, and arousal somewhat differently."

The point about diversity is key. Some people who are asexual feel no romantic feelings about another person; others may feel romantic feelings but have no desire to act on those feelings in a sexual way.

Similarly, some people who are asexual don't have a desire for sex of any kind; others may not feel a desire for sex with other people, but they may enjoy having sex with themselves through masturbation.

Penis health

So why is there a question concerning whether male asexuality could impact penis health? Mainly because there is still a great deal of research to be done in the field of asexuality. One of the questions that needs to be considered is whether an asexual man who does not engage in masturbation may in some way be negatively impacting his penis health.

One school of thought would lean toward saying that yes, there is an impact. As most men know, there is a "use it or lose it" aspect to penis health, Meaning, for example, that a man needs to experience some degree of sexual activity (partner-based or with his own hand) in order to keep the penis in good working order. However, that typically means good working sexual order - that the penis will be more likely to perform sexually if it is exercised. If a person is not interested in sex, this would seem to be a moot point.

Of course, it's probably a good idea for the penis to function "normally" even if sex is not in the game plan; but a person with asexuality does have a normally functioning penis. He still gets erections throughout the day and night. And if he does not masturbate, his penis will still periodically release semen through nocturnal emissions. So this school of thought would believe that asexuality does not have an impact on penis health.

Whether asexuality does have an impact on penis health has not been definitively researched yet. But whatever the definition, most men could benefit from using a superior penis health crème (health professionals recommend Man 1 Man Oil, which is clinically proven mild and safe for skin). The best crèmes will contain ingredients that are conducive to maintaining the health of the penis skin, such as moisturizers (like Shea butter and vitamin E) and antioxidants (such as alpha lipoic acid). Laparoscopic Surgery For Fibroids In Uterus: A Boon For Ladies

Fibroid is the most common tumor of uterus which is not cancerous in 99% of cases. Fibroid is so common that almost 40-50 percent of females at the age of 40years are found to have fibroid inside. Most of these women are not having any symptoms. But as the size of fibroid increases with time, many of these women, start having symptoms. Now a days we are seeing more of fibroids even in young girls of 16-17 years of age.

Most common symptoms due to fibroids are-

Heavy bleeding during menses, prolonged menses, irregular spotting, inability to conceive (pregnancy), recurrent abortions, frequent urination, constipation, heaviness in lower abdomen, a palpable big hard mass in lower abdomen which is confused with obesity at times. There is risk of conversion to cancer in less than 1 percent cases.

Treatment- long back fibroid was removed by open surgery where a long incision/cut is given on abdomen to remove the fibroid. It is more like a caesarian section which is more painful for the patient, associated with more blood loss, slow recovery of patient, and more dependency on others/relatives after surgery.

Now a days surgical technique and instruments have improved so much that same surgery is being done by laparoscopy (Key-Hole) where very small incision of 10mm is given and complete surgery is performed using camera and better machines. This gives benefit of almost negligible pain after surgery, minimal blood loss, faster recovery and resumption of work, no dependency on relatives after surgery, and no visible surgery mark on abdomen.

Because of its excellent cosmetic effect and no visible scar on abdomen, laparoscopy has proved to be a boon for unmarried girls.

Different treatment options for fibroids-

  1. Medical- medicine can be tried to decrease the size of fibroid but it is a temporary method. Fibroid recurs after medicine is stopped. Medicine is given to the patient who are waiting for the surgery in view of some personal problem or very low hemoglobin level.
  2. Laparoscopic myomectomy- Removal of fibroid is called myomectomy. Patient who want to retain their uterus for future childbearing or who are young, fibroid removal is the surgery of choice. Uterus stays safe after surgery. We have removed 2.5kg fibroid from uterus by laparoscopy, which is equal to the size of 7month pregnant uterus.
  3. Laparoscopic Hysterectomy- for patients who do not want to retain their uterus or who are beyond 40yrs of age with complete family, laparoscopic removal of uterus with fibroid is done so that patient gets complete cure with no recurrence. We have done laparoscopic removal of 2kg uterus with fibroid which was equal to 6 months pregnancy.
  4. How to decrease recurrence of fibroid in future- laparoscopic ligation of uterine artery is a technique where blood vessels feeding to fibroids, are blocked. This helps in decreasing recurrence of fibroid to more than 80 percent cases. Uterus keeps on getting its normal blood supply from other vessels and future childbearing is not compromised so she can plan for pregnancy.

Myth 1- It should be removed by open surgery.

Fact- Advanced surgical technique has made it possible to remove fibroid by laparoscopy. Fibroid is loaded in a bag and then removed from abdomen so that complete removal is ensured.

Myth 2- big size fibroid can not be operated by laparoscopy

Fact- Any size of fibroid can be removed by laparoscopy by expert gynecologist laparoscopic surgeon

Myth 3- laparoscopic surgery is more expensive

Fact- Recovery of woman is much faster after laparoscopic surgery so loss of work is minimal, that leads to overall cheaper price for surgery.
