Amlip is amlodepin use to treat high blood pressure. Metformin is for diabetes or high sugars. How can they substitute each other? They are completely two different medicines for two different problems.

diabecon ds is ayurvedic medicine I think and not metformin. ayurvedic doctor can help you there. but IMO it won't make much difference between before and after meals.

My mother is having 52 age. Thyroid increasing continuously .in last three months TSH increase from 10 to 35. Taking thyronorm 175 mg. Pl suggest some additional medicine tips.

MBBS, Diploma in Diabetology
Endocrinologist, Mumbai
let her take medicine on empty stomach. IF she is consuming food or tea coffee within 40 min of tab ingestion almost 10% of dose is lost. thyroxine has a half life of 7 days. if she is daily eating something within same timespan then almost 1 or half tab dose is going less than recommend dose. I hope this helps.

Hello, My T3 and T4 are normal but TSH is 6.86 and BP is 150/100 and take medicine revelol am25/2.5.

Hello, My T3 and T4 are normal but TSH is 6.86 and BP is 150/100 and take medicine revelol am25/2.5.
6.86 TSH suggests subclinical hypothyroidism. Which may or may not be treated depending on symptoms. BP 150/100 mmHg is high and require to increase current medication. You need to consult a diabetologist or endocrinologist for further management with reports.

My thyroid level is 5.02 and my doctor gave me Tab Thyronorm 12. 5 mg to take daily for 1& half month, shall I take the medicine? Also I have been diagnosed as fibroadenosis with my prolactin level normal but confused with the thyroid level. So please clarify my doubt, what shall I do? Will be very grateful to you. thank you.

5.02 TSH suggests subclinical hypothyroidism which may or may not require treatment depending on symptoms. thyronorm 12.5 is thyroxine(T4) itself. so no harm in taking it if it is adviced by your doctor.

every insulin has it's time of action. for example human mustard 30/70 has 12 hrs of action or actrapid has 6-8hrs , novorapid 4 hrs humalog 4 hrs humalog mix25/75 has 12hrs lantus (glargine) has 24 hrs etc.. after it is finished then sugars will start rising again and need another shot.

You may need to basal bolus regime for good control like 3 premeals short acting and 1 basal insulin shot at night after dinner (4 insulin shots /day). or 2 short acting before breakfast and lunch and premix 30/70 at dinner ( 3 insulin shots /day)

You need to increase insulin dose on both times and a medicine to control your post potential peaks if you are a type 2 patient. You have not mentioned your age. Other parameter like Sr. Creatinine etc need to consider. It is better if you meet any diabetologist for the same. Additionally HbA1c test may be required to see your overall sugar control over last 3 months.
