It could be that your knee must have been injured during the workout. Kindly apply ice pack for 2 3 days if it does not subside you need to get yourself assessed for any ligament sprain.

I am looking for an advice from an Orthopaedic about ankle pain that I have developed in the last one month. I have severe pain as soon as I wake up from bed and it subsidies after I walk for a while. The same thing happens after I sit down for a while and get up. Please advice on the causes and treatment for the same. Some friends suggested me to change shoes and wear insole. I am not sure if thats the right thing to do.

If you could provide with more details of exact area of pain it would have been better. But never the less it could be plantar fascitis or heel spur or any tendon around ankle that is inflammed. 1. Wear soft footwear throughout the day 2. You can also wear heel cups if heel is paining 3. Get assessed by a physiotherapist for footwear modification 4. Contrast treatment* alternately dip your feet in hot and cold water for 2 mins each. Totaly 12 to 15 mins.

My right foot usually pains when I wake up in the morning & step first. Specially the toe and arch portion. After that the whole day while walking. It pains. Bare foot is little better. My weight is too normal.

It could be that the fascia of your foot that is muscle covering the sole must have been inflamed and become tight. It is called plantar fascitis. You should do contrast treatment of keeping your legs in hot and cold water alternately. Start and end with hot water. Start using footwear like chappals full time (at home) and proper shoes outdoors. Before putting initial steps you should try and move your ankle up and down, rotate, move your fingers and then step down. Kindly follow these.

Mr. lybrate-user It is very common to have this kind of back pain with office working people having desk work. Following changes should be made 1. Maintain appropriate posture while sitting 2. Take breaks every 25 30 mins. Get up and walk for just altst 30 secs to 1 min 3. Follow office exercises (Visit a physiotherapist for the same) 4. Use hot pack for pain relief 5. Lying on your stomach for 2 mins atlst is a good exercise 6. Exercise_ lying on stomach rise up on elbows hold the head with hands as you would watch tv. 1 mins and 3 sets.

I'm 20 year 5'7 height boy. Now a days when I ever I bend I feel pain in lower back. I started gym Recently? Is this the reason? Even while sneezing I feel pain in lower back.

MPTh/MPT, BPTh/BPT
Physiotherapist, Mumbai
Hello lybrate-user, From what symptoms you are showing, I think you have strained your back while doing certain exercises in incorrect form at gym. You need to rest your back for few days, so no gym for sometime till the pain settles. Also, I would suggest you to see a Physiotherapist/ Orthopedic Doctor. Till then: 1. Keep icing your back 10 mins/ 3-4 times a day 2. No gym exercises 3. No lifting weights 4. No bending over 5. If you have to travel for long hours in car, take a break every 20 mins and take a small walk 6. Similarly at work place/college, if its lot of sitting, get up every 20 mins and take a small walk For further questions feel free to post THANK YOU Dr.

I was suffering from shin splints then I took rest, some anti-inflammatory medicines, pain gone and everything seems quite normal but as I start sprint work pain again come back. This whole scenario happened with me thrice. Now once again I took rest ,some tabs of calcium and vitamin d now there is again no pain. But I'm again very scared to resume my sprint work. Please tell me correct measures to cure this issue. Thanks.

Hello, Shin Pains have multiple causes other than vit d, you should rule them all out 1. Improper footwear while working out 2. Improper techniques of working out 3. Insufficient warm up 4. Weakness of certain muscle groups along with tightness of other muscle groups 5. Graded increase in workout levels You should try to correct these and should be better. Thanks.
