Need some more information. Can you see any redness in the mouth. If its because of throat or oral ulcers or wisdom tooth infection.

Drink lots of water and take a b-complex capsule daily. Make sure that you are avoiding spicy and oily food for at least 2 days.

A big no. Chewing gums can only help you in increasing the quantity of saliva in your mouth nothing else. Other things you mentioned are rumours.
