I have been facing snoring troubles. It's too loud at times I myself can hear it. I've been a lil overweight but don'...
Snoring occurs due to 1. Obstruction of flow of air through mouth and nose as in obesity, nasal obstruction due to polyp, dns, sinusitis, 2. Alcohol, use of sleeping pill 3. Smoking, consumption of tobacco. 4. Take preventive measures for the condition discussed above 5. Consult ent specialist to exclude nasal causes of snoring 6. Reduce your weight if overweight.

Air Condition [AC] are the one of the reason for dehydration. Even if we live in AC we need to take water for about 3 to 4 lts per day. People who are all working in AC atmosphere eg, IT sectors etc.. need to take care of yourselves by taking water, this will also reduce your stress by caring oxygen inside our body.

I'm a 14 year old female who was diagnosed with Otosclerosis. If I have mild hearing loss in my left ear how long do you think it will take for me to go completely deaf in one ear? And also a stapedectomy was recommend as a surgical treatment if I wanted it by my ENT specialist. She told me that it.

BHMS
Homeopath,
Dear Lybrate User....before Stapedectomy you can try Homoepathic THIOSINAMAN 200, 5 drops in a cup of water early morning before brushing your teeth along with Homoeopathic FERRUM PIC 6X tablets, 4 tablets, thrice daily for at least 1 month....this combination has effectively increased the level of hearing in some cases of deafness due to otosclerosis in my experience

Hello, your hearing status can be decided by seeing your report, whether it is corrected by surgery, medicine or hearing aid, depends on your status of ear mechanism. If infection persists for long it should be corrected by surgery only, if surgery fails. Then you go for a digital hg. Aid.

Hi. I have sub total eardrum perforation. The problem is that I can hear what is being said but I don't understand the same (i miss to hear or understand a word or two). Is it hearing loss or something else? please advise.

Sub total tympanic membrane perforation may cause conductive or mixed hearing loss in long term depending on the damage. Get audiometry done to know degree and type of hearing loss to understand if it is hearing impairment.

I m suffering from hear burn problem form long 1 year almost. Means I m having gastric problem with heart burn. I am taking regular medicine like 1. Cap. rabemac DSR 2. Amlycure-DS Syrup n Kuthjarishta syrup from Vaidhnath. On taking these medicines on regular basis I don't have problems. But on leaving medicine for just one day starts creating problems. Kindly suggest what need to be done to cure this?

Looks like you have oesophagitis, gastric ulcer or acid peptic dyspepsia, I would advise healthy life style, regularity of food, avoid spicy fried food intake. Avoid medicines causing acidity, tobacco, alcohol. If above medications taken for 4 - 6 weeks continuously does not help. You may require investigations like upper gi endoscopy, ultrasound abdomen etc. See a consulting gastoenterologist.

I hv been suffering from 40 % hearing loss in left ear since may 2014. Is it viral infection or any other causes. It happened when I was travelling in my ac car during hot day

Dear Murari, Have you got a hearing test done to suggest that you have 40% hearing loss that too only in your left ear ? If you have then I would like to see the report. In case you have not got the tests done then I would suggest you to immediately get an audiogram done & then get back for the suggestion. There can be various causes for hearing loss. Its extremely difficult to pin point unless you know for sure that this happened exactly when ! Regards, Neevita 9810511246 www.sphearclinic.com

Sir, I am hearing Impaired using a hearing aid. I have an interview in the coming few days. I feel my hearing ability has come down a bit. Now losing confidence, worrying about how I face the interviewer. Hi lybrate-user. I don't think the issue with you has anything to do with the aid. U r conscious of the fact that you have an impairment .though adequately controlled for. Relax.Chill. The issue with you is anticipatory anxiety. Yes anxiety is just a normal response to a real or perceived threat.in your case the interview n the interviewer. Pls Google rcpsych anxiety panic n phobias key facts to knw more. When anxious .our ability to focus. Pay attention n concentrate goes down. To listen properly one needs to be attentive. This isn't the first time you r facing anxiety am pretty much sure. Remember all the exams .vivas. Social situations you have faced so far. They also brought in a bit of fear .didn't they. Am pretty much sure you succeeded then n will now. Remember. Work is thy duty (preparing adequately n performing at the interview to the best of your abilities. Reward is not thy concern (whether you clear or not). I hope this helps. Best of luck. Regards.

Does sensory nerve problem in ear can be cleared with out operation or using a hearing aid.

Bachelor of Audiology & Speech Language Pathology (B.A.S.L.P)

Does sensory nerve problem in ear can be cleared with out operation or using a hearing aid.
No, sensory nerve related issue is not corrected by medicine or surgery, or even hearing aid also. But the progression can be prevented or slowed down by wearing a proper digital hearing aid. All anatomical and physiological changes takes place with aging, no one can preclude it, as it is a natural process.

My mother has difficulty in hearing. I want to buy her an hearing aid. But she also has a heart condition and has an implanted device in heart. Is it safe to go for hearing aid?

MASLP

Hi Hearing aid technology has advanced leaps and bounds. With an already implanted heart device she will have no adverse effect with an additional hearing aid. You can be rest assured. If you have the latest audio gram you can send me a copy of that so that I can give you the exact detail about what kind of hearing aid will be suitable for your mother. Hope this answers your query.
