Scaling will help in this regard. Plaque or tarter get deposited between the gum and tooth and cause inflammation and bleeding. Rinse your mouth with chlorhexidine mouthwash for 15 days. Maintain proper oral hygiene by brushing twice daily and rinse your mouth after eating anything.

If I do scaling and polishing in every 6 month will it affect my teeth in future?

If I do scaling and polishing in every 6 month will it affect my teeth in future?
All individuals requires scaling (cleaning) & polishing to be done atleast once in 6 months to maintain our oral hygiene clean. Our toothbrush is not much finely designed to clean all the plaque and calculi in the interdental areas of the teeth, which is the area where most of the calculus accumulate much and has to be removed regularly using scalers by the dentist.

I think it's more psychological effect. Nevertheless, it could be some decay or issue with your teeth for which I would recommend you to visit your Dentist at the earliest.

आप दंत चिकित्सक की सलाह पर अमल करें। ना कि अपने मित्रों के। stones are very dangerous for your teeth and gums. It is better you have space in your teeth which could be covered by perioprosthetic treatment. Yes, After stones ie. Calculus removed you might feel light and space with shaky teeth but oroper medication and rootplaning will make them strong and survivable. Stones are deposited after a long period of disrespect to your oral health and unhygiene. Please keep in mind that you need to go for a good treatment with patience and understanding. Do not bother about people's talk on your health but listen to a dentist and ask for all the best and expensive treatments he or she can offer.

Dental Treatment is Now Painless - 5 Reasons Why!

BDS, FICOI, MDS
Dentist, Mumbai
Dental Treatment is Now Painless - 5 Reasons Why!

A majority of us would rather undergo any form of torture than go to a dentist. There is some great news for the ones who are silently enduring their dental pains. Read on as we reveal how to get rid of your teething troubles and that too painlessly!

#1- NO MORE INJECTIONS

If the fear of a needle is what’s keeping you away from the dental office, then think again as we can now numb you with as little as just a paste, spray or solution that doesn’t require an injection for its delivery. This revolutionary new technology takes away the prick of the needle and the pressure of the liquid expanding your lips and gums, instead, the solution enters by a digitally controlled dispenser going in drop by drop making it virtually undetectable.

#2- NO MORE DRILLING

The sound of the drill can be one of the most known triggers for creating fear and anxiety in the patient's mind. When coupled with its vibrations, heat and pressure the experience it creates oscillates from unpleasant to downright unbearable. If the drill were replaced by a beam of light that can clean up decay, even the most reluctant people would open up to the experience. Once patients experience the difference they not only get the most urgent and necessary treatments done but also opt for preventive treatments.

#3-  BLADE FREE SURGERIES

If you had to undergo a dental surgery earlier you may have had to worry about blood loss, pain, swelling, stitches not to mention the countless gory images that come to mind - but fortunately not anymore ! A surgery can be completely pain-free with little or no bleeding, Immediate recovery,no stitches and no swellings having you back at work or play almost instantly.

#4- QUICK & EASY ROOT CANALS

Root canal treatment as a procedure is probably more dreaded than even extraction or removal of a tooth. The pain and fear associated with this treatment are due to the primitive way that it used to be done in earlier. Automated technologies make root canals completely painless, precise, quick and smooth in as little as just one session.

#5- RELAXING MEDICATION

If these reasons do not sound convincing enough then pain relieving and controlling drugs before or during your appointment may be the solution for you.

Great strides have been made in the field of pharmacology with medication that can block or control pain centres in the brain.

We now choose from a variety of medication ranging from oral drugs to breathing gases through a mask, that can relieve your anxiety during the procedure to a point that you no longer perceive or detect pain.

The only thing left to fear now remains a nagging toothache in the back of your mouth that you have been ignoring.

As hard as it may seem to believe, truth is, that with the best technology, great ambience, and a host of distraction techniques - a dental appointment may actually turn out to be pleasant and save you a world of pain in the future!

I have proem is my teeth at florida which one is the best toothpaste & toothbrush was helpful to me remove the problem.

I have proem is my teeth at florida which one is the best toothpaste & toothbrush was helpful to me remove the problem.
Is a cosmetic condition that affects the teeth. It’s caused by overexposure to fluoride during the first eight years of life. This is the time when most permanent teeth are being formed. After the teeth come in, the teeth of those affected by fluorosis may appear mildly discolored. For instance, there may be lacy white markings that only dentists can detect. In more severe cases, however, the teeth may have: Stains ranging from yellow to dark brown Surface irregularities Pits that are highly noticeable How Widespread Is Fluorosis? Fluorosis first attracted attention in the early 20th Century. Researchers were surprised by the high prevalence of what was called “Colorado Brown Stain” on the teeth of native-born residents of Colorado Springs. The stains were caused by high levels of fluoride in the local water supply. This was fluoride that occurred naturally in the ground water. People with these stains also had an unusually high resistance to dental cavities. This sparked a movement to introduce fluoride into public water supplies at a level that could prevent cavities but without causing fluorosis. Fluorosis affects nearly one in every four Americans ages 6 to 49. It’s most prevalent in those ages 12 to 15. The vast majority of cases are mild, and only about 2% are considered “moderate.” Less than 1% are “severe.” But researchers have also observed that since the mid-1980s, the prevalence of fluorosis in children ages 12 to 15 has increased. Although fluorosis is not a disease, its effects can be psychologically distressing and difficult to treat. Parental vigilance can play an important role in preventing fluorosis. Fluorosis Causes A major cause of fluorosis is the inappropriate use of fluoride-containing dental products such as toothpaste and mouth rinses. Sometimes, children enjoy the taste of fluoridated toothpaste so much that they swallow it instead of spitting it out. But there are other causes of fluorosis. For example, taking a higher-than-prescribed amount of a fluoride supplement during early childhood can cause it. So can taking a fluoride supplement when fluoridated drinking water or fluoride-fortified fruit juices and soft drinks already provide the right amount. Fluoride Levels in Drinking Water Fluoride occurs naturally in water. Natural fluoride levels above the currently recommended range for drinking water may increase the risk for severe fluorosis. In communities where natural levels exceed 2 parts per million, the CDC recommends that parents give children water from other sources. Prompted by concerns that children may be getting too much fluoride, the Health and Human Services Department in January 2011 lowered its recommended level of fluoride in drinking water. And the Environmental Protection Agency is reviewing its rules on the upper limit of fluoride levels in drinking water. Fluorosis Symptoms Symptoms of fluorosis range from tiny white specks or streaks that may be unnoticeable to dark brown stains and rough, pitted enamel that is difficult to clean. Teeth that are unaffected by fluorosis are smooth and glossy. They should also be a pale creamy white. Contact your dentist if you notice that your child’s teeth have white streaks or spots or if you observe one or more discolored teeth. Since the 1930s, dentists have rated the severity of fluorosis using the following categories: Questionable. The enamel shows slight changes ranging from a few white flecks to occasional white spots. Very mild. Small opaque paper-white areas are scattered over less than 25% of the tooth surface. Mild. White opaque areas on the surface are more extensive but still affect less than 50% of the surface. Moderate. White opaque areas affect more than 50% of the enamel surface. Severe. All enamel surfaces are affected. The teeth also have pitting that may be discrete or may run together. Fluorosis Treatments In many cases, fluorosis is so mild that no treatment is needed. Or, it may only affect the back teeth where it can’t be seen. The appearance of teeth affected by moderate-to-severe fluorosis can be significantly improved by a variety of techniques. Most of them are aimed at masking the stains. Such techniques may include: Tooth whitening and other procedures to remove surface stains; note that bleaching teeth may temporarily worsen the appearance of fluorosis. Bonding, which coats the tooth with a hard resin that bonds to the enamel Crowns Veneers, which are custom-made shells that cover the front of the teeth to improve their appearance; these are used in cases of severe fluorosis. MI Paste, a calcium phosphate product that is sometimes combined with methods like microabrasion to minimize tooth discoloration Fluorosis Treatments In many cases, fluorosis is so mild that no treatment is needed. Wisdom teeth usually make their appearance between the ages of 17 and 21, though it's possible for them to push through earlier or later. Referred to as your" third molars, these four teeth begin to push through the skin like any other tooth, which can cause pain. However, wisdom teeth are much more likely to grow in at an incorrect angle – even sideways – causing impaction that can radiate this pain to the teeth in front of it.
