correct diet & lifestyle is what you require to shed off extra weight as medicines will spoil your health. Diet- avoid junk/ processed/canned/ ready to eat/ fried/ sugary foods, cold drinks, alcohol, havs small frequent meals at regular intervals, eat slowly chewing your food well, replace simple carbs- potato, sugar, sabudana, maida, noodles, cake, biscuit, white rice, white bread with complex carbs- whole fruits, salads, sabji, sprouts, brown rice, dalia, suji, oats, bajra, medua. Activity- practice kapalbhati daily for at least 1/2 hr along with toe touching & weights, take stairs instead of lift, do household chores, walk/ cycle instead of hiring transport

Hye. In order to lose weight you must either eat sensibly and exercise to burn off calories. Eat as per the body's needs. Food that is not used to fuel the body is stored as fat. A major component of losing weight is to make smarter food choices. Here's how: limit non-nutritious foods, such as: sugar, honey, syrups and candy, pastries, donuts, pies, cakes and cookies, soft drinks, sweetened juices and alcoholic beverages cut down on high-fat foods by: choosing poultry, fish or lean red meat. Choosing low-fat cooking methods, such as baking, broiling, steaming, grilling and boiling. Avoiding high-fat snacks like chips and chocolate. Avoiding fried foods. Using less margarine and mayonnaise. Avoiding high-fat gravies, cream sauces and cream-based dishes. Eat a variety of foods, including: fruit and vegetables, whole grains, breads, cereal, rice and pasta, dairy products, such as low-fat or non-fat milk or yogurt, low-fat cottage cheese and low-fat cheese, protein-rich foods like chicken, fish, dals and legumes, or beans should be included in your diet. Change your eating habits: eat three balanced meals a day to help control your hunger. Watch portion sizes and eat small servings of a variety of foods. Choose low-calorie snacks. Eat only when you are hungry and stop when you are satisfied. Eat slowly and try not to perform other tasks while eating. Find other activities to distract you from food, such as walking, taking up a hobby or being involved in the community. Include regular exercise in your daily routine.

Hi It is better to avoid pills to reduce weight. Any artificial medicine can cause lot of side effects for you. It is better you control your diet and do exericise / yoga to reduce weight. You are about 10 Kgs overweight and you can follow a diet of reducing about 250 calories per day and bring down your weight by 1 kg per month. That way you can be down to 60 after 10 months. Slow and steady wins the race. Pills and crash diets always will crash in the end.

Hye Thanks for the query. You can do any exercise in order to burn fats. It is important that you enjoy it and are able to manage it at least 45 minutes per session, 3-5 times a week depending on how strenuous your work out is. You can do yoga, strength training, aerobics, swimming,  jogging or even indulge in sports like football or an enjoyable activity like dance. The idea is to stay physically active. Lastly the technique of any exercise be it the seemingly simple brisk walking  is also important. And don't forget stretching and warm up before any exercise in order to avoid injuries. Losing 10 kiss of weight in a month is not ideal. Fat loss never happens so fast. If you do lose 10 kiss in a month be assured it is water and muscle loss, not so much of fat loss.

Hi firstly, start doing surya namaskar in morning and start eating triphla chooran (natural medicine) in morning empty stomach with luke warm water. Start a fruit dieting every alternative day, means you have to eat fruits every alternative days & normal fruit every other alternative days. Avoid late night dinners and try to eat nothing after sunset. Sit in vajrasana after every meal you eat for 10 minutes. Walk atleast 30 min in morning.

Hi, do regular exercise atleast15 minutes. You should go for brisk walk in the morning. Take one glass lukewarm water with lemon in the morning. Take sprouts, fruits and vegetables. Eat salad before meals. Drink more water in a day. Take small and frequent meals. Avoid junk food and oily food. You are weak you should take proper diet you take 5 meals in a day in frequent intervals and don't skip breakfast.

Just by taking warm water and honey, it will not help you to lose body fat. You have to eat clean and do some intense exercise. To maintain a low body fat and/or lower body fat: 1. Exercise at least 5 times per week 2. Eat whole/unprocessed foods at regular intervals, while being aware of physical hunger/fullness cues 3. Sleep 7-9 hours per night 4. Don’t engage in extreme diets 5. Stay consistent with your habits 6. Incorporate non-exercise physical activity 7. Ignore food advertising You need a fat loss diet which comprises of whole grains like jowar, bajra, wheat, brown rice, pulses like moong, musoor, bengal gram, lots of vegetables, fruits, eggs, fish, chicken, paneer, healthy oil, nuts and seeds. You need to eat them in right proportion. Avoid eating sugar and sweets, refined foods like maida, noodles pasta, White rice and products, bread. Drink a lot of water.

Hello lybrate-user, green tea (2-3 cups/day) and jogging (30-45 mins/3-4 days/week) both promote fat loss. Fat loss is the result of a holistic approach that includes- 1. Balanced diet rich in proteins and fibre like- egg, chicken, fish, milk, curd, paneer, sprouts, oats, wholegrain cereals and pulses, fruits and vegetables (fibre) 2. Exercise- doing 40-50 minutes of moderate to high intensity activity for 4-5 days/ week will help (walking/jogging/swimming etc) 3. Adding good quality fat like nuts and oilseeds-almonds, walnuts, flaxseeds (alsi) will help. 4. Rest for 7-8 hours to rejuvenate your system so it can work efficiently. 5. Water- having about 1 glass water every hour will help in flushing toxins from your system.

Weight gain is typically first step in beginning of many chronic diseases after 40. So, you are rightly concerned. Eggs are one good choice to nurture while you are in the dieting plan. They don’t show any side effects to your heart where as cut your fat. Serving eggs in your breakfast won’t make you feel a snack for long hours, it fills the tummy full which eventually calls for less intake in the next snack.

Hello Doctor. I am 29 years old and having a 11 months old baby. I gained too much of weight in pregnancy. Last month I was diagnosed with pcos and my doctor asked me too loose weight and also have prescribed me medicine like metformin hydrochloride sustained release tablet and elestra cyproterone acetate & ethinylestradiol tablets. Also caberlact tablet once a week as my prolactin is 77. For loosing weight I have joined gym .My current weight is 85 kg. The gym trainer Has advice me to take 1lemon juice after all d 3 meal but have asked to consult doctor before taking lemon juice as according to him lemon can have adverse effects on d medicine taken. So I want to seek your advice. Can I take the lemon juice for weight loss?

Weight loss happens by continous diet management and regular exercise. Lemon juice is a healthy drink but it has no role to play in weight loss. It is just a myth like many others like Green Tea. Aloe Vera. Etc. For exercise follow 40: 10:10 formula for max weight loss. # 40 min Cardio # 10 mins Abs & Stretches # 10 mins Strength and Toning For Diet. Cut down all sugar stuff. Colas. Juices. And fried foods. Focus more on fruits. Veggies. Salads. Soups etc. Consult a dietician for a detailed diet plan.

To reduce belly fat you need to be particular about food choices & timings. Eat small & frequent meals. Include high fiber foods in your diet such as whole cereals & whole pulses. Drink plenty of water. Avoid refined foods from your diet such as maida, pasta. Keep check on your food intake.

Since you r overweight & your jumping wld put a stress/load on your knees. U have a greater chances of a knee injury. So kindly consult a fitness trainer for this.

Hello, It's good to reduce weight at right time as many problems including irregular menses are directly related to overweight! Read the following guidelines and implement them in your routine: Management: 1: Drink plenty of water (at least 2-3 l/d) or other calorie-free beverages. 2: Be choosy about nighttime snacks. 3: Enjoy your favorite foods. 4: Have 6 meals per day - 3 main courses and 3 snack meals (snack meals should be healthy). 5: Do regular exercises daily (start with light and later may be little vigorous) . Exercise decreases the stress hormone in your body, burns calories and also increases the blood circulation. 6: Eat seasonal fruits. Fruit helps to satisfy your sweet tooth thanks to its natural sugars, while fresh vegetables help you fill up more quickly. Fruits and vegetables contain fiber to help you feel full quickly. 7: Eat more whole grains and cut simple carbs. Whole wheat bread, oatmeal, whole wheat pasta, sweet potato, and brown rice are all excellent sources of energy and sources of nutrition. 8: Choose lean proteins instead of fatty ones. 9: Cut the salt from your diet. Eating more sodium causes your body to retain water, which can cause you to feel bloated and gain more weight. 10: Don't skip meals.When you skip meals, your body stops breaking down fat and starts breaking down muscle tissue. Muscle tissue burns more calories at rest than other tissues, so you're actually working against your goals 11: Eat at home. Going out to eat makes it too easy to cheat. Food sold at restaurants is commonly much higher in fat, sodium, and other weight-loss killers. 12: Give yourself a treat now and then. If you're attending a party or going out for a special occasion, allow yourself an indulgence. Just make sure that these indulgences don't become daily habits. Medication: Start taking Schwabe's Phytolacca Berry tablets/ thrice daily 1/2 an hr before the meals for 1 month. Thereafter revert me back for further guidance. All the best!

Please do treadmill for at least 45-60 minutes daily. Keep moving as much as you can whenever you can. Keep meal portions small especially if they’re cooked. Limit your food intake which SHOULD be and ONLY be 4 times a day. Avoid sedentary life/night watching/junk foods. DO stretching exercises.

Ayurveda believes in digestion not into giving heavy food for weight gain. According to ayurveda, food which are easy to digest but nutrient can gain weight. But I need detait history for perfact solution. Like your appetite? bowel habits sleeping habits kind of your work or job life style diet etc. But till you can do following: take daal rice more. Use cow ghee n milk. Avoid over eating start massage with til oil in morning, after that, do exercise whatever you want. Then bath focus in yourself avoid stress anger fear take ajvayan 1 tsp after meal. Start chyavanprash in morning. For medicine I need you more history.
