You have to go for regular counseling/ psychotherapy along with medication. Please consult your doctor for your therapy sessions. As medicines reduces the symptoms but a regular therapy will solve the actual cause of your depression. If your reason for depression is understood and the therapist can work on it, then you will definitely come out of your depression phase. All the best.

Please do not experiment with medicines. This is not something you can do on your own, based on what you have heard. Do not take any medications on your own without the approval of your treating doctor. The side effects of mixing medications can be life threatening and often fatal.

Already another doctor answered that it may be a sleep disorder. You need to get diagnosed and assessed properly by a psychiatrist.
Both diazepam and clonazepam are of the same group of drugs called benzodiazepine. Both have addiction potential in vulnerable persons. The sedation is for longer time in diazepam than clonazepam. Both are dose dependent. Knowing these, if you still want a benzodiazepine only, clonazepam is better, because it acts only for 6-8 hours.
