The degree of symptoms can range from mild to severe. Symptoms include high body temperature, agitation, increased reflexes, tremor, sweating, dilated pupils, and diarrhea. Talk to your psychiatrist. While it is not addictive stopping it suddenly may cause “ discontinuation symptoms “ which are more like anxiety symptoms. Like always please discuss with your doctor about change of medications especially if you wish to stop the medicine as it should be gradually reduced in dose and stopped to avoid the above mentioned discontinuation symptoms.

Dear Yash,
Lonazep is safe. Except that in the long run, Neeti may become dependent on it. If Neeti has already taking it for many years, let him not increase the dose on his own. He need not stop it suddenly also.

Consult the treating Psychiatrist before doing anything as not tablets retain their bioavailability after being crushed. The amount of medication available within the body may reduce if it is crushed and mixed with food items. Consult the treating Psychiatrist for alternative medication which is orodispersible or mixes with food.

Yes you can take these medicines as advised by psychiatrist. You just need dosage adjustment as per your stage of CKD. Both these drugs can be given but at lower dosage and I am sure your psychiatrist must have done the job already.
