Hi lybrate-user, just stop it, if you have taken it by mistake once or twice. If you continue to take it regularly, it is addictive and will have an impact on cognitive abilities in the longer run.

I am not sure who got you hooked onto sleeping pills. On a longer run they will shrink your brain, resulting in early onset dementia, personality changes, memory changes, even withdrawal seizures. Kindly consult a psychiatrist, get your sleep evaluated, and he will gradually wane you off the sleeping pills and give pills which promote sleep by acting on the cause of sleep disturbance, he may also educate you on sleep hyigiene.

I was suffering from fits for the past 14 years and using valparin chrono 300 mg daily mor/nig apart from that as per doctor\ advise I am taking restyl 0.5 mg daily m/n, when I started discontinuing restyl 0.5 mg - alprazolam tab I am not able to discontinue restyl I am suffering with severe headache what should I do I want to discontinue alprazolam any alternative medicine you suggest.

A medicine cannot be avoided by starting another medicine and you have to gradually taper the dose spread alternate days and move on to one in two days and finally stop it.

Make it 1 tab on every alternative day for 2 weeks and 1 on every 4 that day for next 2 weeks and stop after that.

Alprazolam is a benzodiazepine. It affects chemicals in the brain that may be unbalanced in people with anxiety. Alprazolam is used to treat anxiety disorders, panic disorders, and anxiety caused by depression.Tramadol is used to treat moderate to severe pain. The extended-release form of tramadol is for around-the-clock treatment of pain. The extended-release form of tramadol is not for use on an as-needed basis for pain. You should not continue these tablets for long time and need to stop daily regular use

W.s. On vertin medication for 10 days and was prescribed alprax 0.25 for anxiety for 10 nights. Now doctor has asked me to take 0.25 alprax alternate night for 5 days and then stop. Is it the right course for stopping alprax.

Depends on your anxiety. Alprazolam causes dependence if taken for long term. Better to follow your doc's advice. Good luck.

Seems like you have anxiety/ depressive symptoms for which these medicines are prescribed. Rexipra10 mg and zolax sr could be taken in the night. Rejunex plus can be taken in the afternoon.

For stomach problems do this 1. Don't Overeat 2. Don't take tea empty stomach. Eat something like a banana (if you are not diabetic) or any seasonal fruit or soaked almonds and a glass of water first thing in the morning (within 10 mins of waking up). No only biscuits or rusk will not do. 3. Take your breakfast every day. Don't skip it. 4. Have light meals every 2 hours (in addition to your breakfast, lunch n dinner) e.g. Nariyal paani, chaach, a handful of dry fruits, a handful of peanuts, any fresh n seasonal fruit, a cup of curd/milk etc 5. Finish your dinner at least 2 hours before going to sleep. 6. Maintain active life style. This is most important n non negotiable part 7. Avoid fast foods, spicy n fried foods, Carbonated beverages 8. Take a lot of green vegetables n fruit. 9. Drink lot of water. 10. Curd is good for u. 11. Everyday preferably sleep on same time Don’t take stress. Try to relax yourself, you will sleep on your own -- Exercise. Exercise is one of the most important things you can do to combat stress. Sleep is the best reliever of all stress and physical pain. Not only is it important to get sleep, but also to sleep soundly and without any disturbance. The quality matters. Here are a few tips to get better sleep: 1.It is important to maintain the same sleep schedule every single day. This helps to naturalize your body clock and get the best quality sleep. 2.Switch off all mobile phones, laptops and other electronic devices. Their artificial glow not only hampers your eyesight, but also prolongs the amount of time your body takes to relax and fall off to sleep. 3.If your back pain causes you to continually wake up in the middle of the night in discomfort, then sleep with a pillow or cushion between your legs so as to straighten out your back and relieve pent up stress. 4.The importance of your pillow can never be stressed upon enough.
