Hello lybrate-user. Ultrasound scan is not a very good modality for appendicitis. CT scan is the gold standard. I do not rely completely on scans or lab reports and I believe in my clinical judgement. Symptoms of appendicitis are pain in right lower abdomen which is usually continuous and often severe with vomiting, nausea and fever. Pt also loses appetite due to infection. As per standard protocols, there needs to at least 5 years of seizure free period before tapering and stopping medications. Newer protocols followed by some doctors believe in stopping medications even if there is 1 year of seizure free interval. It is best that you consult with your neurologist and let him decide on what is best for you.
