It is used to treat seizure, it depends on how frequent episodes and what type of seizure you have, I advice not to stop without your doctor's advice, usually these type of drugs stopped by gradually decreasing the dose.

1. The first thing is to shift to the lowest dose possible of Carbamazepine, if you have not had seizure for 2-3 years try to taper it off. Get the level tested to confirm lowest pharmacologic level essential. Take Folic Acid supplement 4 mg /day.
