For trigeminal neuralgia, tegrital (carbamazepine) is most effective drug. He is on very minimal dose, dose can be adjusted if required but some effects are possible like sedation, rashes and decreased sodium level. Most of the patients require long term treatment.

No the episode is not an absence seizure that has different features, but it may be related to his medicine intake and may have been drowsy. I suggest you keep amental note of the episode and continue with medication, in case it recurs you must visit your doctor as it may be a seizure (not necessarily absence) and he may have to be reviewed.

You need to be careful about the drug interactions. Tegretol (carbamazepine) can reduce levels of rozerem (ramelteon) whereas faverin (fluoxamine) can increase it. Faverin can increase levels of tegretol and that can be worrisome if not closely monitored. There are other solutions for your ocd.

Zen retard 200 mg tabletfunctions as an anticonvulsant, and decreases the occurrence of abnormal nerve impulses in the brain which can lead to severe reactions like seizures and acute pain. Hello. Your mother appears to be affected by a condition called epilepsy (most probably generalised tonic clonic siezure) which is going to remain there for life. As she is taking zeptol 400 (carbamazepine) regularly, it is the drug of choice for this condition too along with valproate and is quite safe too.
